The latest terrorist attack against Americans, on American soil, has stirred up many feelings.  Among them is a feeling of helplessness. I truly feel that good will conquer evil but I also feel it’s going to take some time.   We, as a nation, have chosen a dark and evil path to travel.  Any attempt to correct our mistakes will be met with much resistance.

A friend of mine sent me some wonderful clips of an amazing individual from a bygone era.  I would have never guessed that in less than 30 years, since the late, great, Ronald Reagan left the office of President of the United States, we would be on the verge of collapse.

Not only is our economy and security in crisis but so are our morals and values.  We have become a backwards thinking nation.  The government has turned on our true allies while insisting that we welcome our enemies into our homeland; true madness.

Do you remember when the United States was a great nation?  People wanted to come to America to become Americans. Today, people risk their lives to get to our shores for the opportunity to destroy our home, our freedoms and everything that once made us a great nation. They’ve been given a free pass by this administration to enter and destroy...

"Just when you really thought the myriad college protests across the country couldn’t get any more daft, something comes along to prove you wrong.
In this case, it’s students at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania. 

Demonstrators there recently insisted that school officials “remove or modify” the last name of one of the college’s past presidents as it appears on a campus building – the man’s name is Clyde A. Lynch – “due to the associated racial connotations.”
This is not a joke.

The demand was made at a forum on campus equality issues held Friday, capping a week of demonstrations calling for changes at the predominantly white institution.
But while their remaining demands — those seeking everything from a more diverse curriculum to facilities recognizing varied gender identities and disabilities — appeared warmly received at Friday’s forum, which was attended by Pennlive and a standing-room-only crowd of students and staff, a call to change the name of Lynch Memorial Hall has been decidedly more controversial, both at the school and beyond.
In the days that followed, commenters on pennlive.com leapt to defend Lynch, who served as the college’s president from 1932 to 1950 when he died in office, saying he’s been unfairly dragged into the fray by this modern-day movement.
In response, student activists who made the demand said they’d be willing to settle for adding his first name and middle initial to the building instead of removing it altogether. At Friday’s forum they acknowledged no known links between Dr. Clyde A. Lynch and the practice of “Lynching” but said as is, the building and last name harken back to a period in American history when Blacks were widely and arbitrarily killed by public hangings and “Lynch Mobs.”
President Lynch “led the college through the Great Depression and World War II, helping to raise $550,000 for a new physical education building which was named for him following his death,” according to the college website.
Just a few hours after its first report, PennLive devoted a new article to the public backlash this idiocy has created..."

John Robert Fox (May 18, 1915–December 26, 1944) was an American soldier who was killed in action when he deliberately called for artillery fire on his own position, after his position was overrun, in order to defeat a German attack in the vicinity of Sommocolonia, northern Italy during World War II.
He posthumously received the Medal of Honor in 1997, for willingly sacrificing his life.
Fox was born in Cincinnati, Ohio May 18, 1915, and attended Wilberforce University, participating in ROTC under Aaron R. Fisher and graduating with a commission of second lieutenant in 1940.
He was 29 years old when he called artillery fire on his own position the day after Christmas in 1944, for which he was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in 1982.
More than fifty years after his death, Fox was awarded the Medal of Honor.
He is buried in Colebrook Cemetery in Whitman, Massachusetts.
In the early 1990s it was determined that African-American soldiers had been denied consideration for the Medal of Honor solely due to their race.
After a review, seven African-American soldiers had their Medals upgraded in January, 1997 to the Medal of Honor; First Lieutenant Fox was one of the seven.

With billions of dollars in “hidden debt,” three Texas cities have among the heaviest taxpayer burdens in the United States.
Dallas, Houston and San Antonio owe a combined $23 billion, according to Truth in Accounting, a think tank that rated government finances in the country’s biggest cities.
The debt far surpasses the cities’ official figures, which TIA called outdated and incomplete.
The Chicago-based group said municipalities move large chunks of debt off their books to meet balanced-budget requirements.
“This hidden debt is a result of outdated accounting methods used by city government officials, allowing a vast amount of pension and retirees’ health care benefits to be excluded from the cities’ financial reporting,” TIA found.
Dallas was the chief offender, shielding $6 billion of debt from its 2014 balance sheet.
That works out to a per-capita taxpayer burden $17,900.
“The taxpayer burden is a reminder that the city budget has not been balanced,” said Sheila Weinberg, TIA founder and CEO. “Future generations are at risk of acquiring more financial burdens.”
...Ross Kecseg, leader of the Dallas branch of Empower Texans, a conservative activist group, said the TIA report confirmed his research in the Metroplex.
“Local government financials are a complete and utter mess,” he told Watchdog.org. “Unfunded pensions are the largest hidden liability in government accounting.”
In a report last summer, Robert Lemer, a retired CPA and Houston activist, said his city is weighed down by “a bloated and overpaid municipal workforce.”
Only three other big cities had higher taxpayer burdens: New York, $59,000; Philadelphia, $28,800; and Chicago, $28,600..."

They show where the Democratic Party is headed.
The Vermont Senator calls climate change “the single greatest threat facing our planet,” and he seems to mean it.
He is proposing a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, and an 80% reduction by 2050, which is significantly more than the up-to 28% cut by 2025 that President Obama has pledged at the Paris climate confab.
To reach this developing world level of CO2 emissions, Mr. Sanders would:

• impose an unspecified carbon tax; ban all offshore drilling and fossil-fuel leases on federal lands; 
• stop “dirty pipeline” projects; ban natural gas and oil exports; 
• force states to ban fracking; ban mountaintop coal mining; impose a new fuel-efficiency standard of 65 miles per gallon by 2025; 
• spend “massive” federal dollars on subsidies for wind, solar, geothermal, biofuels, home-efficiency programs and energy storage; federally underwrite electric-car charging stations, high-speed passenger and cargo rail, a smart grid, and clean-energy job training; shut down the nuclear industry; and

Mr. Sanders doesn’t include the cost of all this, for obvious political reasons, yet give him points for honesty.
Hillary Clinton wants voters to believe that Planet Earth can be cooled with this rule change or that subsidy tweak.
The Sanders plan admits that decarbonization under current technology will require a government-mandated top-to-bottom remake of the U.S. economy, and maybe the American way of life. Welcome to the revolution."

Thank goodness that Socialist nutbag Bernie Sanders is falling in the polls because if you look at his Global Warming plan very closely, there’s a line in it that seems to claim that he would punish and prosecute “deniers.”
From his plan website:
Bring climate deniers to justice so we can aggressively tackle climate change. It is an embarrassment that Republican politicians, with few exceptions, refuse to even recognize the reality of climate change, let alone are prepared to do anything about it. The reality is that the fossil fuel industry is to blame for much of the climate change skepticism in America. Bernie recently called for the Department of Justice to investigate Exxon Mobil, which may have not only known about the dangers of climate change, but has spent millions of dollars to spread doubt about the causes and impacts of burning fossil fuels.
Notice that first sentence – “Bring climate deniers to justice.” 

Now the rest of that paragraph seems to call for going after big oil companies like Exxon, but it’s unclear if that’s all it means. 

In fact, the next sentence talks about Republican politicians – how will Bernie “bring them to justice”? 

Would that include bloggers and other Americans who don’t go along with his Global Warming hoax? 

How would he bring us to Justice?..."

Riggins and another suspect were in a neighborhood in Barefoot Bay to burglarize homes, Brevard County Sheriff's officials say. Riggins and the other man were spotted on Royal Palm Boulevard, but eluded authorities. Riggins nor the other man were never located by deputies.
Riggins reportedly called his girlfriend to say he was being chased by authorities.
His girlfriend called police the next day to report him missing when he never returned home, Brevard Sheriff's officials say.
The half eaten body of Riggins was found in a Barefoot Bay lake just north of Ocean Avenue Way on Nov. 23.
He was missing his lower extremities and part of his arm, deputies told the Orlando Sentinel..."

"Another Common Core-aligned math problem is going viral.
This time a 3rd grade math problem was marked as incorrect even though the student found the correct answer.
On the other hand, submissions with the wrong answer have been counted right.
The question asked the student to find the result of 5 multiplied by 3, using the “repeated addition strategy.”
The student wrote “5+5+5” and correctly found the answer to be 15.
Apparently, this strategy didn’t fit with the Common Core-established method for teaching multiplication, so the teacher punished the student for getting the right answer in a way not prescribed.
In problem number 2, the student was asked to solve 4 multiplied by 6.
The child created an array with four columns of ones and six rows of ones.
With this array, the student provided the correct answer of 24.
The teacher again punished the student for getting the right answer in a different manner, wanting six columns of ones and four rows of ones.
NBC Chicago reported, “The new math methods are in response to the Common Core States Standards Initiative launched in 2009.
It focuses on more critical thinking and less on memorization.”
That report is inaccurate. 
First, these math methods have been around for more than two decades, under names such as New Math, Fuzzy Math, Everyday Math, and Chicago Math. Second, Common Core was created before 2009, as its own supporters claim. 
Third, the critical thinking talking point is an excuse to prevent accountability for teaching methods and results.
This talking point also defies logic because, as this math problem shows, many Common Core teachers want only one method to be taught for calculating the correct answer, regardless of the critical thinking utilized by the student.
When a student uses his or her own strategy to come to the right answer, isn’t that an example of the kind of “critical thinking” Common Core is supposed to be promoting?..."

Meanwhile here's how the Iranian students in the US were treated.
Carter orders 50,000 Iranian students in US to report to immigration office with view to deporting those in violation of their visas.
On 27 December 1979, US appeals court allows deportation of Iranian students found in violation.
In November 1979, the Attorney General had given all Iranian students one month to report to the local immigration office. Around 7,000 were found in violation of their visas.
Around 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the US.
Meanwhile any Iranians entering the US were forced to undergo secondary screening.
Interestingly enough, Carter did this by invoking the Nationality Act of 1952.
A law originally opposed by Democrats for its attempt to restrict Communist immigration to the United States.
“If this oasis of the world should be overrun, perverted, contaminated, or destroyed, then the last flickering light of humanity will be extinguished,” Senator McCarran said of the law.
