Britain's Grooming Gangs: Part 3

Britain's Grooming Gangs: Part 3

  • This reformist activity in the migrant community needs to be encouraged and backed by government resources.
  • "On one level, most imams in the UK are simply using their puritanical sermons to promote the wearing of the hijab and even the burka among their female adherents. But the dire result can be the brutish misogyny we see in the Oxford sex ring." — Taj Hargey, imam of the Oxford Islamic Congregation.
  • There are decent Muslims everywhere who work hard to counter all the anti-social and criminal activities in which so many of their co-religionists engage and the theological positions through which they try to justify what they do. But terrorist attacks, anti-Semitic hate speech, and sexual harassment of young white women are real crimes committed by a different kind of Muslim and must be addressed as such.
  • "Women in some communities are facing a double onslaught of gender inequality, combined with religious, cultural and social barriers preventing them from accessing even their basic rights as British residents. And violence against women remains all too prevalent...." — Dame Louise Casey, The Casey Review, 2016.

...Not all Muslims remained silent about the grooming gang problem..."

DHS 'can confirm': Gang members, criminals are in the caravan:

Image result for flickr commons images president trumpThe Department of Homeland Security on Thursday defended claims by President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence that violent criminals are a component of the Honduran caravan making its way through Mexico toward the U.S., after reporters at the White House questioned how they know that.
"@DHSgov can confirm that there are individuals within the caravan who are gang members or have significant criminal histories," DHS spokesman Tyler Houlton wrote in a series of tweets Tuesday evening.

Stoned Driver Crash Risk Grows as Legal Pot Spreads in the U.S. - Bloomberg:
"After retail sales of recreational cannabis began, the frequency of collision insurance claims in Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington State rose about 6 percent higher than in nearby states where marijuana is still illegal, the IIHS said in the study.
A separate IIHS study saw a 5 percent increase in the rate of crashes per million vehicle registrations reported to police in Colorado, Oregon and Washington versus neighbors that haven’t legalized the drug.

Don Surber: Megyn her exit

Don Surber: Megyn her exit
"As we toast Megyn Kelly on her departure from NBC and sip our Trump Schadenfreude (which tastes like Diet Coke with a slightly stronger New York accent) let us also enjoy watching NBC pay $69 million or so in exit fees to the 21st century's version of Pink Lady and Jeff.

Kelly was a lawyer who joined Fox News as a reporter and worked her way to an anchor post. They promoted her to prime-time. She was doing fine until the first Republican presidential debate in August 2015.

She picked a fight with Donald John Trump. He ate her up and spit her out like a wad of gum. The transcript shows she broke a rule. A lawyer never asks a question in court that she does not know the answer to.

President Trump used three words to annihilate her.

KELLY: Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular, when it comes to women. You’ve called women you don’t like “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”
(LAUGHTER)
TRUMP: Only Rosie O’Donnell.
(LAUGHTER)
The audience was laughing at her. At this point, Kelly should have moved on. Nevertheless, she persisted.
...Thus began their feud.

Never feud with Donald John Trump..."

Why Democratic Senators Won’t Succeed in Attempt to Block Judicial Nominee | The Heritage Foundation:

Image result for flickr commons images capital hillWhenever the president makes a judicial nomination, the Judiciary Committee chairman asks the home-state senators whether they support or oppose the nominee. This practice has come to be called the “blue slip” process because those home-state senators communicate their position on a blue slip of paper.
Since the practice began in 1916, 17 of the 19 Judiciary Committee chairmen have treated the views of home-state senators as input for senators to consider rather than a veto of the nomination. Only two chairmen have treated negative or withheld blue slips as a veto that automatically prevents a hearing.

"Many people are focusing on the political biases in the FBI’s treatment of the Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton campaigns, but the political corruption of the agency goes deeper.
One can also see it in the FBI’s raw crime data, particularly when it comes to the public shootings that have so galvanized Americans.
The first report under the Obama administration came out in 2014, just weeks before the midterm elections, making it timed for maximum political influence.
The FBI’s first report claimed that only once from 2000-2013 did a concealed handgun permit holder stop one of 160 reported “active shooter” attacks.
These active shooter attacks include any time a gun is fired in a public place, even if no one is injured or killed.
...The report got massive news coverage on the front pages of such newspapers as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, as well as all of the TV news networks.
Image result for FBI liedGun control activists have frequently cited the report in court cases and in political debates to claim that civilians rarely use guns to stop public shootings.
Unfortunately, the problems with the reports have continued during the Trump administration.
...But the bureau misses at least 23 cases where permit holders saved the day.
That means they stopped 11.5 percent of active shooter incidents from 2000 to 2017.
We at the Crime Prevention Research Center are more confident that we have all of the cases from 2014 to 2017, when 16.5 percent of attacks were stopped.
Back in 2015, when I pointed out errors in the original report, the FBI simply responded, “We acknowledge in the FBI report that our data are imperfect.”
But no correction was ever made..."

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF PROGRESSIVE HOSTILITY

Instapundit Blog Archive THE PSYCHOLOGY OF PROGRESSIVE HOSTILITY
"THE PSYCHOLOGY OF PROGRESSIVE HOSTILITY:
“Asked to think the way a liberal thinks, conservatives answered moral questions just as the liberal would answer them, but liberal students were unable to do the reverse.
Rather, they seemed to put moral ideas into the mouths of conservatives that they don’t hold
To put it bluntly, Haidt and his colleagues found that progressives don’t understand conservatives the way conservatives understand progressives.”---Posted by Glenn Reynolds

Megyn Kelly Skips 'Today' as Questions Mount Over Her Future at NBC :: WRAL.com

Megyn Kelly Skips 'Today' as Questions Mount Over Her Future at NBC :: WRAL.com:
"On the Tuesday episode of her show, Megyn Kelly made racially insensitive remarks that caused a backlash.
On Wednesday, she apologized at length to her NBC studio audience, which rewarded her with a standing ovation. And on Thursday, she did not go on the air.
In place of the live show that had been scheduled for Wednesday, NBC broadcast a previously recorded episode of “Megyn Kelly Today.”
“Happy Friday!” Kelly said in the show’s opening moment.
It was the latest sign that Kelly may never return to the NBC airwaves.
Her decision to skip “Megyn Kelly Today” came two days after she suggested, during an on-air round-table discussion, that it was appropriate for white people to dress in blackface as part of their Halloween costumes.
Kelly apologized in an email to her NBC colleagues hours after making those remarks.
On Wednesday, she delivered an on-air apology in the opening minute of her 9 a.m. show — “I’m Megyn Kelly, and I want to begin with two words: I’m sorry.”

But since the hearing, she really works up the conservative voters, passive and listless before the commotion, who were aroused and then brought to a boil by enraged attacks on their man.

Destroying the AGW Hypothesis

Destroying the AGW Hypothesis--Michael May shared a link.
"Interesting paper from Dr. Edwin Berry.
The above-ground atomic bomb tests in the 50s and 60s raised the level of carbon-14 in the atmosphere from the “normal” 100 percent to 180 percent until the tests were terminated in 1963.
Dr. Edwin X Berry`s article basically states that the IPCC CO2 theory is wrong because it cannot simulate the carbon-14 data, it claims nature treats human CO2 differently than natural CO2 which violates the Equivalence Principle, and its predictions with natural CO2 are extremely wrong.
Therefore, all the climate models are wrong.

Obama Tells One Whopper Of A Lie. It's About Lying. | Daily Wire:

Image result for flickr commons images obamaSpeaking in Nevada on Monday, former president Barack Obama uttered what may have been the most pompous, patronizing, and pretentious lie from a politician since Woodrow Wilson, the president who championed executive power over legislative power by expanding the executive branch, who stated, “The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people.”
Obama actually said this: "Unlike some I actually try to state facts. I believe in facts. I believe in a fact-based reality and a fact based politics. I don't believe in just making stuff up."

"There has been an increase by up to 6 percent in the number of highway crashes in four of the states where the recreational use of marijuana has been legalized, according to a pair of new studies.
The new reports do not prove there’s a direct risk caused by the use of marijuana among motorists, but they raise caution flags, especially since there is no easy way to test drivers to be sure if they are, in fact, under the influence of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, said David Harkey, president of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Highway Loss Data Institute.
“It’s certainly early in the game,” Harkey told NBC News.
But, he warned, “We’re seeing a trend in the wrong direction.”...

NP View: Enough about weed. The Liberals need to fix our economic mess—fast | National Post
"A top priority must be repairing Canada’s seriously damaged global competitiveness, including overhauling our uncompetitive tax regime
Regulatory issues and an uncompetitive tax regime are crippling Canada's competitiveness, a Senate committee report warns.
The federal government has understandably had its hands full in recent months.
The legalization of cannabis was one major public policy file that was consuming a lot of energy, the NAFTA renegotiation another.
Now that these issues are largely behind us, the government is able to tackle other pressing issues.
And not a moment too soon.
Sen. Doug Black, of Alberta, persuasively argued in the Financial Post this week why a top priority must now be repairing Canada’s seriously damaged global competitiveness.
Good-news stories about cannabis jobs springing up in once-moribund small towns and the sincere relief at a new NAFTA deal should not obscure a far more serious economic story.
As the senator notes, “investors are fleeing the country. Major energy projects are dead or dying. It’s not just money leaving Canada … businesses and individuals are heading south in favour of a warmer investment climate.”..."
