The Greatest – and Least Acknowledged – Educational System in the World

The Greatest – and Least Acknowledged – Educational System in the World
"Google “America’s best institutions for learning,” and all sorts of websites leap to the screen.
There’s “America’s Top College List” from Forbes...
If asked which is the best institution for learning beyond high school, most of us might answer Harvard or Yale, Stanford or MIT, Princeton or Berkeley.
We’d be wrong.
The best, the greatest, the most far-reaching institution of learning beyond high school is the American military: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines.
Think about it.
These organizations take enlistees, young men and women, many of them just out of high school, and train them in a hundred fields ranging from infantry to military intelligence, from mechanic to pilot, from medic to computer technician...
  • Not only does the military offer young people job training and educational opportunities otherwise unavailable to many of them, it also teaches life-skills.
  • From their first day in boot camp, they learn the importance of working with others as a team.
  • They learn such valuable lessons as discipline, order, personal responsibility, and perseverance.
In Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe the World, Retired Navy Admiral SEAL William McCraven relates the lessons he learned from a life in the military.
He based his book on the 2014 commencement address he delivered at the University of Texas at Austin...

San Francisco ditches its 'progressive' chief prosecutor and his crime tolerance, writes TOM LEONARD | Daily Mail Online
  • How America's most liberal cities have finally had enough of the woke policies that have turned them into lawless cesspits
"San Francisco has been waiting to be rocked by another massive earthquake since 1906.
On Tuesday night this week, it finally came when the people of America’s most famously Left-wing city voted overwhelmingly to throw out their chief prosecutor — and with him a policy of ultra-woke tolerance of crime that has brought the city to its knees.
Some 60 per cent of San Franciscans voted to ‘recall’ from office Chesa Boudin, a pin-up for the ‘progressive’ Left, midway through his term as the city’s District Attorney..."

Washington Commanders Fine Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio $100,000 for Not Being Leftist Enough
  • Jack Del Rio, the defensive coordinator of the Team Formerly Known As Redskins, the Washington Commanders, is $100,000 poorer today, and he is lucky that he still has a job at all, for he has offended the gods of wokeness, and the gods of wokeness are angry and unforgiving gods.
...On Wednesday, Del Rio aroused the ire of all those who think correct thoughts when he tweeted: Would love to understand ‘the whole story’ about why the summer of riots, looting, burning and the destruction of personal property is never discussed but this is??? #CommonSense.”
Del Rio said: “Let’s have a discussion. Why are we not looking into those things — if we’re going to talk about it — why are we not looking into those things? I can look at images on the TV, people’s livelihoods are being destroyed, businesses are being burned down, no problem. And then we have a dust-up at the Capitol, nothing burned down, and we’re going to make that a major deal.”..."

A very BIG difference!-----RealClearInvestigations' Jan. 6-BLM Riots Comparison

RealClearInvestigations' Jan. 6-BLM Riots Comparison | RealClearInvestigations

Highlights:

  • The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 23 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot.
  • Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases, and prosecutors and judges alike have weighed Capitol riot defendants’ political views in adjudicating their cases.
  • Dozens of accused Capitol rioters have been held in pretrial detention for months, where they have allegedly been mistreated.
  • In the summer 2020 riots, the vast majority of charges were dismissed, as they were in the Inauguration 2017 unrest.

The Democrats: 'A Criminal Organization' - American Thinker

The Democrats: 'A Criminal Organization' - American Thinker  By Clarice Feldman
"...unshutter your eyes and let in the light.
Democratic leaders are encouraging lawless, threatening behavior against Supreme Court justices, and their attorney general refuses to enforce the law against such behavior.
This criminal organization has a huge public relations outfit working around the clock for it, the Major Media, which is why you may have missed this.
It’s hard to ignore the fact that the leaders of the party are openly inciting violence in an effort to force the Court to decide cases based on fear of the mob, instead of the law.
  • In May, pro-abortionists began illegal parades around justices’ homes as the draft opinion of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization was leaked. Attorney General Merrick Garland did not one thing to enforce the applicable federal law by arresting the protestors.
  • In a bipartisan display of concern, the Senate passed a bill to extend around-the clock security protection to the justices’ families. The House Democrats have refused to sign on.
  • Not one single Democratic leader has spoken out in opposition to the terroristic actions against the Court.
  • Worse, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer clearly incited this threatening behavior, telling the crowd assembled outside the Supreme Court, “I want to tell you Gorsuch. I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price.” That clear threat also violated federal law, but don’t hold your breath for Garland to do anything, or Schumer to retract it, or any Democrat to criticize his intemperate statement..."

Math is hard.

Instapundit--The Times buried the Kavanaugh assassination story because he’s a conservative

BILL MAHER: The Times buried the Kavanaugh assassination story because he’s a conservative.

"Katrina Trinko remembers how the Gabby Giffords shooting, perpetrated by a genuine random lunatic, was immediately and egregiously coopted by the media as an indictment of tea-party agitation against Democrats. But the supreme example of the double standard will forever be the attempt by an ardent Bernie-loving progressive to mass-murder Republican congressmen on a baseball field in 2017, news that would have been treated as a national trauma on the order of a major terrorist attack had the partisan roles been reversed. As it is, the story fizzled after a few days...

“...“Smithfield is taking these steps due to the escalating cost of doing business in California,” the company explained.
...Jim Monroe, vice president for corporate affairs of Smithfield, said two main factors drove the company’s decision: high costs and overregulation.
“The cost of doing business in California is significantly higher than other states where we operate.
  • Utilities, for example, are 3.5 times per head higher than our other location where we do the same work.
  • Taxes and other costs are significantly higher,” he told The Epoch Times.

Review: Joe Biden's Interview With Jimmy Kimmel - Louder With Crowder

Joe Biden sat down with one of his biggest supporters on Wednesday. No, not anyone from the legacy media. That would mean the people who control Biden have respect for our institutions and Joe Biden has dignity. No, Biden sat down with Jimmy Kimmel. The president has no more loyal base than late-night "comedians." The interview was as cringe-worthy as one would expect.

Stephen Moore: Beware: 100% Green Energy Could Destroy the Planet | The Patriot Post
  • We are already experiencing the economic damage from the green energy crusaders.
"The untold story about “green energy” is that it can’t possibly be scaled up to provide anywhere near the energy to replace fossil fuels. (Unless we are headed back to the stone ages, which is what some of the “de-growth” advocates favor).
Right now, the United States gets about 70% of its energy from fossil fuels.
To go to zero over the next 20 years would be economically catastrophic and cost tens of millions of jobs.
...But we also have to ask whether green energy is even good for the environment.
Some environmentalists are pointing to a little-noticed study by the World Bank showing that moving toward 100% solar, wind and electric battery energy would be just as destructive to the planet as fossil fuels.
...Here are some of the numbers.
Going all-in on batteries, solar and wind would require:
  • 34 million metric tons of copper
  • 40 million tons of lead
  • 50 million tons of zinc
  • 162 million tons of aluminum
  • 4.8 billion tons of iron
Those tens of millions of windmills, solar panels and electric batteries for cars and trucks aren’t exactly biodegradable.
So, we will have the most prominent energy graveyard with toxic pollutants that will be 100 times larger than any nuclear waste storage.
And yet, the Left is worried about plastic straws!..."
