DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE:

Instapundit - The Real Reason Yale Professors Are Leaving Trump’s America.
“We Study Fascism, and We’re Leaving the U.S.,” a Wednesday New York Times headline read.
At the heart of the issue is a redefinition of the word “fascism” in such a way as to make it sound like it means the same thing as “patriotism.”
  • These Yale professors — and a good many people who think like them — find the American assertion that this country, with its quasi-sacred founding and its insistence on the rights of man given him by God, is an exceptional one a troubling concept.
They seem to equate “Make America Great Again” with Adolf Hitler’s “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer.”

Flashback: The Left’s fear of fascism under Trump is the ultimate example of projection.

UPDATE: NYT’s ‘Fascism’ Narrative Is So Tiresome It Has Become Self-Parody.

  • As George Orwell famously wrote, “The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable.’” - Ed Driscoll

A Massachusetts School District Provided a Math Assignment on 'Systematic Racism'

"Newton Schools work hard to ensure that their captive audience of students uncritically adopts their preferred world view — even in math class. - Madeline Leesman
The assignment was focused on incarceration rates of people who were white, black, and Hispanic. One part of the question tells students: “Explain how you believe systematic racism creates the data displayed by the above timeplot.”
"Newton Schools work hard to ensure that their captive audience of students uncritically adopts their preferred world view — even in math class. What happens if a student doesn't believe in structural racism? Do they fail 9th grade math?" Erika Sanzi, director of outreach for DE, told Townhall.
This isn’t the first time Defending Education sounded the alarm about this school district...

Who Started the Lawfare Era? - by Matt Taibbi - Racket News

A new motion in an international court dispute draws in a wide range of political luminaries, from Canada's new Prime Minister to the head of Donald Trump's new "Weaponization Working Group"
This week, the storied Boies Schiller law firm filed a motion alleging widespread wrongdoing on the part of Brookfield Asset Management, a private equity titan chaired by Canada’s new Prime Minister Mark Carney until a few months ago...
  • Technically, this is just a business litigation about a privatized toll road in Peru.
  • It’s become more than that.
The case is now a key proxy conflict in the increasingly heated “lawfare” arena in which courts, police, and prosecutors are turned into political weaponry.
  • Prior to 2025, status quo figures openly praised lawfare tactics and embraced everything from politicized prosecutions to ballot-blocking campaigns on the grounds that extreme measures may be needed to “save democracy” from the likes of Trump.
  • Lawfare in the context of Trump became a celebrated word, connoting “hard national security choices” an enlightened institutional vanguard might need to make to save us...

Web of 'Chinese Spies' Has Fully Infiltrated Prestigious US University, Student Investigation Finds:

A bombshell investigation by the Stanford Review, published May 7, has uncovered what it described as a widespread Chinese espionage operation at Stanford University. The student-led probe alleged that the Chinese Communist Party has deeply infiltrated the prestigious institution. The investigation, first reported by the Review, drew on over a dozen interviews conducted between July 2024 and April 2025. Interviewees included Stanford faculty, students, and independent experts on Chinese intelligence operations.

In 2020, CNN's Jake Tapper completely dismissed Lara Trump when she mentioned Biden’s cognitive decline.

Now, he’s cashing in with a book about Biden’s cognitive decline, the cover-up, and "his disastrous choice to run again." - Fox News
She calls out the “audacity” of legacy media’s double standard:
“How anyone is going to buy Jake Tapper’s book and trust him at all is beyond me...”

We're buying critical energy infrastructure from CHINA??!!-----Rogue Devices Capable Of Triggering Blackouts Reportedly Found In Chinese Solar Panels - Audrey Streb

Officials are reportedly reassessing the risk posed by Chinese-made devices found in solar panels that are capable of damaging the energy infrastructure, destabilizing the power grid and triggering widespread blackouts.
Over the past nine months, “rogue communication devices” not listed in product documents were found in solar power inverters and batteries from several Chinese suppliers, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Reuters.
The undocumented devices were found after U.S. experts disassembled the renewable energy equipment to check for security issues, prompting officials to review the potential dangers of the Chinese-made devices, according to the publication.
“We know that China believes there is value in placing at least some elements of our core infrastructure at risk of destruction or disruption,” Mike Rogers, a former director of the U.S. National Security Agency, told Reuters...

One Of Trump’s Most Important Executive Orders Went Entirely Unnoticed I & I Editorial Board

Not long after Michelino Sunseri, a professional mountain runner, finished a race across Grand Teton last fall, he found himself on the receiving end of a Justice Department criminal charge.
His offense? Running on a closed trail, for which he could end up serving six months in jail.
We are not making this up.
Last Friday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designed to prevent such gross abuses.
It is one of the most important – and underappreciated – actions he’s taken.
  • The “crime” Sunseri committed wasn’t a federal law passed by Congress. It was a crime invented by the National Park Service – one of some 300,000 federal crimes (although nobody knows exactly how many there are) that unelected bureaucrats have conjured up when writing regulations.
  • What’s more, many of these regulatory crimes are “strict liability” offenses, which means that you don’t need to have criminal intent to be charged with a crime.
“This status quo is absurd and unjust,” Trump says in his executive order...

Tucker Carlson Interviews Ed Martin – The Scale of Corruption within the DOJ and FBI are “Much, Much Worse Than People Think”… | Sundance

Ed Martin now carries the authority of the President of the United States to investigate a weaponized DOJ/FBI apparatus.
Within the interview Martin outlines the mysterious motives of the FBI handling of the J6 “pipe bomber” case, alleging that basic investigative steps were overlooked.
“They didn’t interview some of the people that you would have said, ‘That might be a suspect.’ They hadn’t interviewed him,” he said. Raising concerns about the agency’s competence, he added, “The question becomes, ‘what’s happening here?’ Is it incompetence? It feels worse than incompetence.”
When asked by Carlson whether the DOJ is worse than people believe, Martin went further, declaring, “I think it’s worse than incompetence.”...

'There will be hell to pay': Rand Paul tells Glenn Beck he's not done with Anthony Fauci over Wuhan funding | Blaze Media:

Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky said that the investigation into the coronavirus pandemic isn't done with Anthony Fauci, after new revelations about laboratory funding. Paul made the comments in an interview with Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck on his radio show Wednesday. The senator said that the change of guard at the Department of Health and Human Services meant new evidence was being produced from the pandemic era.
