Germany: Bus driver fired for having “Driven by a German” sign - Voice of Europe"A bus operator in Dresden, Germany has been fired for displaying a sign in the window of his bus that read “This bus is driven by a German driver.”
Controversy was sparked after passenger Peter Dörffel spotted the sign, took a picture of it, and forwarded it to the Dresden Transport Company (DVB) on social media, Deutsche Welle reports.
Shortly after, Dresden’s transport authority (DVB) responded to the social media outrage, saying: “Hello, the message has reached us. We’re also wondering what’s wrong with this colleague. He is no longer on the road and this behavior will have consequences.”
Anja Ehrhardt, the spokeswoman for DVB then confirmed that the driver’s employment had been terminated over a rule that prohibits drivers from expressing their political opinions.
“We can under no circumstances tolerate such actions,” Ehrhardt said..."
