Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown proposes $25,000 pay increase for essential workers

"My employer has been working straight through this, in fact, production has been in overtime.
A co-worker today brought this to my attention.
He was extremely excited about getting a $25,000 bonus.
Hearing the name Sherrod Brown(D), I was skeptical.
Sure enough, it looks to me like a giveaway to AFSCME.

At best, it offers funds to employers.
Mine might technically qualify by having food contracts with schools, although the wording implies a government gravy-train about to leave the station.
My first reaction was, "Where is all this money going to come from?"
After reading the "full text of the proposal" linked in the article, that's still my first question.
Hypocrite that I am, I would not refuse a wad of cash dropped in my lap.
But it reminds me of this quote: “The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.” – Alexis de Tocqueville.
Sherrod Brown is hastening the twilight of the republic with our money -- as if it is not happening fast enough."
