That's not to say they were necessarily going to do it "any day now", but it is to say that they thought they had war gamed it enough to be able to predict success "when the time is right."...

• It is a reasonable assumption that even though China, Russia, and our other enemies knew we were strong, knew we still had great capability, they had no idea we had this much devastating power before now.
• This action will most likely do more to stop lots of other wars from taking place at all than any meeting, any diplomacy, and UN conference could have hoped to accomplish.
• As much as these actions were indeed about Venezuela and Iran, make no mistake... they were ALSO all about China and Russia.
