Senators Want Permanent Ban on Internet Access Tax
HARDOCP - Senators Want Permanent Ban on Internet Access Tax:
"Senators Want Permanent Ban on Internet Access Tax
A bill introduced this week in the Senate would permanently ban taxes specific to the Internet.
A temporary Internet-only tax ban was created in 1998 and extended of three separate occasions.
The latest tax ban extension is due to expire in November, this bill would make the ban permanent.
The legislation does not ban taxes, such as sales taxes, that can be levied on the Internet if they can also be levied on offline activities."

Dissolved School District Repeatedly Overspent Despite Deficits
Dissolved School District Repeatedly Overspent Despite Deficits [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"But the most recent teacher's contract sheds some light on the problems the district had handling its own costs.
In August 2009, Inkster was in its third consecutive year of a growing budget deficit that had escalated from $1.9 million two years previous to $10 million at the end of the 2008-09 fiscal year.
Still, the school board approved a three-year deal with teachers that included some raises as high as 14.2 percent as well as the district paying 100 percent of the health care premiums for teachers and 100 percent of the deductible."
So the teachers and their union are simply innocent victims?
The evil axis of teachers/unions/"owned" school boards continues to destroy the hopes of children and taxpayers.
And now, they expect a bailout?
Gimme a break!

Napoleon, Duggan appear headed for November showdown for Detroit mayor amid flood of write-ins
Napoleon, Duggan appear headed for November showdown for Detroit mayor amid flood of write-ins | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
“My opponent went out and aired negative ads,” Duggan said. “Then, out of the city’s 500,000 registered voters, they found Mike Dugeon.”
With 100% of the precincts reporting, Napoleon had 28,352 votes or 30% of the total votes cast, to 50,328 votes or 53% for write-in candidates, with Duggan presumably garnering the vast majority of those.
Duggan said about 97% of write-ins were correctly spelled for Duggan.
The Mike Dugeon he referenced is a 31-year old barber who was added as a write-in candidate one day before the deadline."
So a last minute "dirty trick" by the black candidate, Napoleon, is just brushed off as a non-event?
Imagine if the cheating was against the black candidate.

Obama’s Watergates
"That too is in accord with the Watergate pattern.
The Nixon administration covered up in Machiavellian fashion the June 1972 Watergate break-in, almost five months before the president’s landslide win.
At least six weeks before the election, the nation knew that there were members of the Nixon administration or the Nixon reelection committee involved in Watergate-related misdeeds — but they found that in comparison to Vietnam, the Chinese initiatives, or the economy, the Watergate news was boring.
Again, that the Obama scandals were successfully kept hushed up before the 2012 election is not unusual."
Imagine that.
A black Nixon!
With all the trimmings......

Newly available wind power often has no place to go
Newly available wind power often has no place to go | McClatchy:
“They’ve connected to the system in our region ahead of planned transmission upgrades,” said Southwest Power Pool’s director of system operations, Don Shipley. “Some of the wind farms have seen fairly significant impacts of up to 50 percent of their projected production.”
In other words, a lot of the power those farms were expecting to generate isn’t making it to the market.
Shipley said the electric market and the wind farms were losing money because of the curtailments, as the pool is unable to sell power that the grid is incapable of transmitting."

Community turns against seven teachers and a board member who showed support for a pedophile teacher - EAGnews.org powered by Education Action Group Foundation, Inc.:
"“Neal made a mistake,” teacher Sally Campbell wrote, according to the newspaper. “He allowed a mutual friendship to develop into much more. He realized his mistake and ended it years before someone anonymously sent something to the authorities which began this legal process.”
“I am asking that Neal be given the absolute minimum sentence, considering all the circumstances surrounding this case,” teacher Amy Huber Eagan wrote to the court. “I am also hoping that he can stay remanded to custody in the Ogemaw County Jail and not be sent to a prison facility.”
“Neal has plead (sic) guilty for his one criminal offense but he is not a predator,” teacher Harriett Coe wrote. “This was an isolated incident. He understands the severity of his action and is sincere in his desire to make amends.”"
Sick.
And doubly sick that these morons are getting paid to "teach" our children.

College Football Will Be Dead in 20 Years –:
"College football as we know it will be dead within 20 years, but it won’t be from health/concussion issues, nor will it be because of the “cable sports bubble.”
It will be because colleges and universities as we know them now will cease to exist and when they go they will take collegiate sports with them."
