Ken Braun: Big Labor didn't build the middle class

Ken Braun: Big Labor didn't build the middle class | MLive.com:

"The UAW doesn’t build cars, and it isn’t necessary to build cars.

As recently as 2007, the Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency reported that non-union Americans working at U.S. assembly plants owned by foreign automakers built more than one-third of the planet’s American-made cars.

UAW president Bob King recently proposed a hefty 25 percent dues hike on his members.

Unlike the financial decisions made by the CEOs of the Detroit Three automakers, King’s plan isn’t going to improve profitability, build a single car, or create auto jobs."

Architects discuss possible designs of new MATS Transit Center with Muskegon officials | MLive.com:
"MUSKEGON, MI – The architecture and construction firms met with county and city officials on Thursday to hash out guidelines for an expansion and restoration of the Muskegon Area Transit System's Morris Avenue center.
The federally-funded $2 million project – in the planning stage for more than 10 years -- has a deadline for substantial completion by Sept. 30.
But there's still no plan on paper for how it will be built."

No need for courts in Obama's america---------Yet Another Reason to Worry About Obamacare: Property Seizures?

Yet Another Reason to Worry About Obamacare: Property Seizures? | TheBlaze.com:
"Before the expansion, it was an option rarely used, so there’s little national data.
But in Oregon, from July 2011 to June 2013, the state snatched $41 million in assets from about 8,900 people, the Post reported.
“If you’re receiving a public benefit and the state is trying to support you, you should give back if you are able,” Judy Mohr Peterson, Oregon’s Medicaid director, told the Post in explaining the reasoning."

This common sense idea has morphed into an endlessly expanding money pit------ MSU Extension offering free 'Self-Control in Children' workshop at United Way of the Lakeshore

"Michigan Extension work began before the organization was officially organized.
The Michigan State College’s (now MSU) first livestock field agent was hired in 1907.
In 1912, the Michigan Legislature authorized county boards of supervisors to appropriate funds and levy taxes to further teaching and demonstrations in Extension work.
Eleven agricultural agents were named that year."

MSU Extension offering free 'Self-Control in Children' workshop at United Way of the Lakeshore | MLive.com
"MUSKEGON, MI -- Michigan State University Extension is hosting a free workshop on the Developmental Stages of Self-Control in Children on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Registration is required for the workshop, which will take place 6:30-8:30 p.m. at United Way of the Lakeshore, 31 E. Clay Ave. in Muskegon.

The workshop is sponsored by the Great Start to Quality Western Resource Center.

“This class really spells out the stages of building self-control,” said Holly Tiret, educator for MSU Extension. “Parents and caregivers sometimes tend to label children very quickly as having no self-control.”"

A culture of corruption, lies and thuggery--------------This Is Starting to Look Like a Pattern of Political Moves and Prosecutions

The PJ Tatler » This Is Starting to Look Like a Pattern of Political Moves and Prosecutions

Reader Joe sent this list in. It’s in response to this Ann Althouse post on the indictment of Dinesh D’Souza.
I am not a rocket scientist, but there seems to be some kind of pattern here…maybe you can tell me what it is… (includes items from Ace’s co-blogger Maetenloch)
4.  Federal Court Indicts Director of Anti-Obama Film –  It Begins… Director of Anti-Obama Film “2016: Obama’s America” Indicted by Federal Court
5.  New York Governor’s Dept of Labor Subpoenas James O’Keefe, Project Veritas - NY Governor Cuomo Subpoenas Conservative Activist James O’Keefe
This is starting to make Nixon look like a walk in the park…
pattern indeed, that stretches back to 2010 and the IRS abuse, or 2009 if you include Obama’s joke that he would use the IRS against his opponents.
Here is one more fact. In 2012, Obama’s campaign deliberately disabled safeguards on its website, allowing it to collect illegal foreign donations. It did accept illegal foreign donations; to what extent is unknown. Those donations, and the campaign staff who disabled the safeguards, were never investigated or prosecuted. The media never showed much interest in investigating, either.

How Do Davos Billionaires Wage War On Inequality? It All Starts With A Bill... | Zero Hedge:
"How does a group of Davos billionaires resolutely crush inequality?

Well, it all starts by spending CHF 80,193.00 on assorted fingerfood plates, drinks and of course: Bollinger.

And don't forget - you aren't really fighting the great war on inequality unless you spend 30 Swiss Francs on water and 460 francs for snacks.

Anything less than that and your 0.001% peers may think you are merely an imposter in the great class convergence war..."

Why is the media giving this liar a pass?--------------When is a fee not a fee? When it is an ObamaCare tax

Blog: When is a fee not a fee? When it is an ObamaCare tax:
"I asked for a breakdown of the amount based on my premium.
In Illinois, these fees (which really is a tax going to the Feds) is 3.9% of the premium.
Here is the breakdown -
$58.70 is the "Health Insurer Fee" (which remember is a tax going to the Feds) and of that, $5.25 per month is the so called "Reinsurance Fee", also a tax.
Calling it a fee is misleading when everything is really a tax.
And the State of Illinois will receive approx .58 (that is 58 cents), (That is the  balance of the 3.9% - $59.28).

SO the "health insurer and reinsurance fees" is just a made up name for the Obama admin's tax on us.
I also did ask when BCBSIL was notified about this Fee/Tax and the lady I spoke with said it was somewhere before September of 2013.
(AND ----If I had gone with a policy with a "new" BCBSIL policy which I thought I had to until things got changed, --- that 3.9% of the premium was already built into all of the 2014 policies.
Nice, huh?
A Federal tax hidden inside the policy premiums."

Gangster Government, Rampant

Gangster Government, Rampant | Power Line

It was Michael Barone who, early in President Obama’s first term, described the Obama administration as “gangster government.”
With Obama now re-elected, his administration’s gangsterism has shifted into high gear. Consider the following news stories from just the last 24 hours:
* Dinesh D’Souza, who made a popular documentary film critical of Obama, has been indictedon felony charges by a U.S. Attorney in New York for using straw contributors to donate $20,000 to a friend’s Senate campaign in 2012.
* For the last two years, Obama’s IRS has been investigating the Friends of Abe, Hollywood’s only conservative group, and has held up approval of the organization’s 501(c)(3) status.
* The U.S. Attorney’s office in New Jersey has subpoenaed records from Chris Christie’s reelection campaign and the state’s Republican Party, seeking to keep the George Washington Bridge controversy alive.
* Obama’s DOJ has sued Standard & Poor’s. S&P’s CEO says the lawsuit is retaliation for S&P’s downgrade of U.S. bonds, and that Tim Geithner threatened him with such legal action as payback for S&P’s failure to toe the Obama administration line.
* I know from personal experience that the IRS harasses Republican campaign contributors and Holder’s Department of Justice has groundlessly threatened Republican donors with criminal prosecution
Then, of course, we have whole additional categories of lawlessness, such as Obama’s illegal, extra-constitutional decrees altering the Affordable Care Act in a desperate effort to delay some of its more baleful effects until after the midterm elections.
Taken together, the gangsterism currently on display in Washington should be of deep concern to all Americans of either party.

Free Crack Pipes Urged To Slow Spread Of HIV In SF, Leaders Balk At Idea

Free Crack Pipes Urged To Slow Spread Of HIV In SF, Leaders Balk At Idea « CBS San Francisco:
"SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – Brows were raised and eyes rolled back when needle exchange programs were first implemented to stop the spread of disease.
Giving away free and clean syringes to heroin users seemed preposterous to many.
Now it is a common practice and almost universally accepted as a means to prevent the spread of HIV. Could the same happen with free crack pipes?"

County taxpayers cover security expenses for Obama Hawaiian Vacation

County taxpayers cover security expenses for Obama Hawaiian Vacation:
"KAILUA, Hawaii — During her recent visit to Maui and the home of close family friend Oprah Winfrey, First Lady Michelle Obama was escorted by Maui police.
The tab for that protection? $54,233.70, said a spokesman for the Maui Police Department.

Honolulu police protected the first family while they spent some 15 days during the holidays in Kailua, Oahu.

Neither county police department will seek federal reimbursement for those expenses, putting the burden on local taxpayers."

Lawmaker: Marijuana export could pay off Hawaii’s unfunded liabilities

HONOLULU – She promised she hasn’t inhaled, but House Majority Floor Leader Rida Cabanilla is looking to marijuana to solve some of Hawaii financial troubles.
“This state would turn into a manufacturing state. Can you imagine factories that would be making ‘Maui Wowie’ cookies and making marijuana macadamia nut candy for export?
I think that would be wonderful,” said Cabanilla, who represents Ewa Villages, Ewa Beach, Ewa Gentry, Ocean Pointe and West Loch.Cabanilla said she hopes to legalize cultivation, manufacturing and exporting of marijuana and marijuana food products in Hawaii to pay off the state’s billions of dollars in unfunded liabilities as well as make infrastructure repairs and fund public education and human services programs.

Hawaii has some $25 billion in debts, encompassing the state retirement system, the public employee union health fund and outstanding bonds. The state also needs billions in repairs for roads, schools and infrastructure.

This may be the most frightening event yet. An open and flagrant attack on a political foe---The Persecution of Obama's Political Adversaries: Destroying Dinesh D'Souza

With full knowledge of the MSM, the IRS targets this guy.
Do we want a government that utilizes the IRS as their own, personal Brown Shirts?
The Persecution of Obama's Political Adversaries: Destroying Dinesh D'Souza | Atlas Shrugs
The ongoing persecution of Republicans and Conservatives mirrors the attacks by the fascists of Europe on their opponents in the 1930s.
Punishing Obama’s political adversaries claims another victim.
The latest attacks are against Conservative authors and/or groups that share a philosophy based on individual rights.
Dinesh D’Souza is the latest target. D’Souza authored a wildly successful bestseller critical of Obama and directed the 2012 film, “President Barack Obama, “2016: Obama’s America.”

He is charged with directing contributions to an unnamed candidate’s campaign.
“As we have long said, this Office and the FBI take a zero tolerance approach to corruption of the electoral process,” the U.S. Attorney for Manhattan, Preet Bharara, said in a statement released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Bharara is an Obama appointee.
Really?
I broke numerous stories and documented millions in illegal campaign contributions to the Obama campaign, but nothing was ever done.
This is so frightening.
America, put down the newly legalized weed that Obama is touting and join us in the fight for freedom.
