This City Moves to Criminalize ‘Bullying’ for 5 Year-Olds

This City Moves to Criminalize ‘Bullying’ for 5 Year-Olds:
"Children as young as five years-old may be designated as criminals if this California city has its way.
The City Council of Carson, California, a city of 93,000 people in Los Angeles County, will vote May 20th on a new law that would criminalize anyone from kindergarten to age 25 who terrorize, harass or threaten others with no legitimate purpose.

Carson Councilman Mike Gipson, a co-sponsor of the law, said he hopes the law will lead to Carson becoming a city completely free of bullying. "

Oberlin athletics transgender sensitivity gender pronoun ban

Oberlin athletics transgender sensitivity gender pronoun ban | The Daily Caller:
"Oberlin College, a smallish hothouse of leftist folly about 35 miles southwest of Cleveland, Ohio, is contemplating a complex set of rules designed to make the athletic department more hospitable for transgender people.
The new rules would mandate transgender sensitivity training for all coaches and athletic staff members, reports Campus Reform.
In addition, the new policy would replace all gender-specific pronouns – she, her, hers, he, her, hers – with plural equivalents they, them and theirs.
Student-athletes don’t have to attend the required training sessions, but they would be “strongly encouraged.”"

That giant sucking sound that you hear..........Grand Rapids bets on the success of its new bus system

Grand Rapids bets on the success of its new bus system | Crain's Detroit Business:
The transit system serving metro Grand Rapids is staking nearly $40 million and its reputation on a bus system mimicking light rail that it says will compete successfully with the automobile in getting people from the southern suburbs to downtown.
For many observers, the Silver Line will serve as a communitywide experiment that larger cities in Michigan are likely to watch closely.
Come August, thousands of riders will board buses daily on the Silver Line without having to show the drivers their tickets or fumble for cash.
Because payment is on the honor system, buses won't even have fare boxes to take cash or tickets.
Without having to queue up for payment, riders then will be whisked north and south along Division Avenue via two of the artery's five lanes during peak traffic periods.

Yes, N Korea has nukes--------South Korea says North Korea "must disappear soon"

South Korea says North Korea "must disappear soon" - Yahoo News:
"SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A rhetorical battle between the rival Koreas intensified Monday with a South Korean official saying North Korea "must disappear soon."
The comments, which will likely draw a furious response from Pyongyang, followed a series of sexist and racist slurs by North Korea against the leaders of South Korea and the United States.
Pyongyang's state media likened South Korean President Park Geun-hye to an "old prostitute" and U.S. President Barack Obama to a "monkey" in recent dispatches."

Newly Installed White House Solar Panels Will Generate Power For a Whopping Six Light Bulbs

Newly Installed White House Solar Panels Will Generate Power For a Whopping Six Light Bulbs UPDATE: Math Correction:
Here’s the pivotal sentence of the announcement:
And while the energy produced by the White House panels may not be all too significant—they’ll generate an estimated 6.3 kilowatts worth of energy—the message it sends is.
Oh good another “symbolic” achievement by Obama – he’s getting great at those!
Not so much at actual achievements, unfortunately:
If 6.3 kilowatts sounds like a lot of energy, it isn’t.
The average home consumes 27 kilowatts of power each day.
Far more than the 6.3 kilowatts that will be produced by the new solar panels adorning the White House. According to TradeWind Energy, “one 50-watt light bulb running for 20 hours will use one kilowatt-hour of electricity (50 watts x 20 hours = 1,000 watt-hours = 1 kWh).”

Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley: ‘Feds Implementing Common Core Through Bribery’

Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley: ‘Feds Implementing Common Core Through Bribery’:
"The Common Core attempted hijacking of the American educational system has come under great scrutiny and criticism since it was first revealed. People like Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Jeb Bush like to frame it as a grassroots movement and local initiative. However, if you connect the dots of federal money used in the way of bribes, you see that the federal government has its hands all over Common Core implementation, which represents a continued takeover of education by progressives."

Policing for Profit? Lawmakers, advocates raise alarm at growing gov’t power to seize property | Fox News

Policing for Profit? Lawmakers, advocates raise alarm at growing gov’t power to seize property | Fox News: "Motel owner Russell Caswell wasn’t expecting to find himself at the center of a national controversy when FBI agents came knocking on his door.
They said they wanted his Tewksbury, Mass., business – and the land it was on – because they suspected it was a hotbed for drug-dealing and prostitution. The agents, who were working with state and local authorities, told a disbelieving Caswell they had the right to take the property, valued at as much as $1.5 million, through a legal process known as civil forfeiture."

Obama's climate change diversion

Obama's climate change diversion | The Detroit News
A cursory glance of the participants shows no participation by climate realists but leading report authors from environmental political action groups like Second Nature, The Nature Conservancy, Planet Forward, and the misnamed Union of Concerned Scientists, a group that is not made up of scientists at all and which also advocates for unilateral U.S. nuclear disarmament.
The government’s report is full of alarms claiming America is already experiencing the effects of “climate disruption” — the newest name created by this crowd of hucksters — in the form of records for higher temperatures, more severe storms, rising seas, droughts, floods and melting polar ice.
In each case, their claims are disputed by observable facts and the historical record, a willful flaw for this bunch of amnesia victims.

Democrats propose Internet voting in 2016, making Republicans also consider the idea | Fox News

Democrats propose Internet voting in 2016, making Republicans also consider the idea | Fox News:
"Democrats are thinking about using Internet balloting in 2016 to expand their voter base and select a president -- prompting Republicans to consider such a strategy to keep from losing ground.
Iowa Democrats proposed the idea and several others during a recent Democratic National Committee meeting, saying Internet balloting could expand access to their unique caucus process to overseas military personnel, absentee voters and others."

Quotas. Tax payer funded quotas--------Detroiters working to get share of Detroit Red Wings arena jobs

Detroiters working to get share of Detroit Red Wings arena jobs | Detroit Free Press | freep.com:
"Even before the first puck drops in 2016, the planned new home of the Detroit Red Wings could prove a winner by providing several thousand construction jobs specifically for Detroit residents.
But it won’t be easy meeting the agreed-upon goal of giving city residents 51% of more than 5,000 building jobs.
That’s because the vast majority of members of local construction trades live in the suburbs, perhaps as many as 95%.
So hitting the target, or at least coming close, has prompted some creative strategies on the part of the city, the Ilitch family’s Olympia Development, and from building contractors and trade unions, such as setting up training programs and advertising in publications to attract city residents to be hired or trained."
...Firms that fall short of the goal can pay a fee or make good by offering free training and by providing instructors and equipment, according to the construction agreement between Olympia and the city.

'Gaming the System': Email reveals how Wyo. VA workers were taught to manipulate records

'Gaming the System': Email reveals how Wyo. VA workers were taught to manipulate records | Fox News:
"An email obtained by Fox News Friday revealed that an employee at a Wyoming VA hospital instructed his workers to manipulate records to make it seem like patients were being seen within the agency’s required 14-day window, which he described as “gaming the system.”
Fox News has learned that the VA was informed of dubious scheduling practices at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center and at a community-based outpatient clinic in Fort Collins, Colorado, which is part of the Wyoming center, through an internal investigation in December 2013.
The problems at and the investigation into the Fort Collins clinic were reported earlier this week.
However, the VA took no formal disciplinary action and did not order an independent probe into the matter until Friday, when Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki said he learned of the email. "

Democrats’ Immoral Approach to Raising the Minimum Wage

Democrats’ Immoral Approach to Raising the Minimum Wage:
"Thank God Obama and the Democrats’ attempt to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour stalled in the Senate.
Raising the minimum wage destroys jobs.  Democrats’ push for a higher minimum wage has nothing to do with improving peoples’ lives and everything to do with playing two cards, class envy and fairness, from their deck of hate inspiring cards to win votes.
How much can Mr. Joe American grocery store owner afford to pay an unskilled worker just entering the work force? When government pulls an amount out of the air that it believes is a fair hourly wage and forces it on business owners, business owners are forced to make real world economic decisions."

"Our colleges and universities have become infectious breeding grounds of the left, fattening their tills as the students are yoked to untenable loans to pay for often useless educations they provide.
The federal government encourages this bubble, undermines free speech and due process on campus by regulation and encourages young people to enslave themselves in this way.
Is there a way out?"

Obama-donor CEO of Panera Bread: Raise the minimum wage, because I'm replacing cashiers with robots, anyway

Obama-donor CEO of Panera Bread: Raise the minimum wage, because I'm replacing cashiers with robots, anyway | WashingtonExaminer.com:
"Panera Bread CEO Ron Shaich is one of those "responsible" corporate executives.
You know, the kind who give $35,800 to the Obama Victory Fund, and support a higher minimum wage.
The Economist reported late last year:
Ron Shaich, the boss of Panera, a chain of 1,800 eateries, is an exception in the industry; he backs an increase in the minimum wage so long as it applies to everyone.
My question:
Will Shaich pay $10.10 an hour to the kiosks he plans to install in every Panera in America? Businessweek tells that at the coffee and sandwich shop, you'll soon be ordering through a touch-screen kiosk.
Shaich insists this won't lead to downsizing: Panera will have fewer cashiers but more employees running the food to customers' tables.
We'll see."

Fascinating story------Target Missed Warnings in Epic Hack of Credit Card Data

Target Missed Warnings in Epic Hack of Credit Card Data - Businessweek:
"On Saturday, Nov. 30, the hackers had set their traps and had just one thing to do before starting the attack: plan the data’s escape route.
As they uploaded exfiltration malware to move stolen credit card numbers—first to staging points spread around the U.S. to cover their tracks, then into their computers in Russia—FireEye spotted them.
Bangalore got an alert and flagged the security team in Minneapolis. And then …
Nothing happened.
For some reason, Minneapolis didn’t react to the sirens.
Bloomberg Businessweek spoke to more than 10 former Target employees familiar with the company’s data security operation, as well as eight people with specific knowledge of the hack and its aftermath, including former employees, security researchers, and law enforcement officials.
The story they tell is of an alert system, installed to protect the bond between retailer and customer, that worked beautifully.
But then, Target stood by as 40 million credit card numbers—and 70 million addresses, phone numbers, and other pieces of personal information—gushed out of its mainframes."

Why is GOP Rep. Tom Cotton Accusing Obama and the Democrats of ‘Fake Outrage’?

Why is GOP Rep. Tom Cotton Accusing Obama and the Democrats of ‘Fake Outrage’?:
"Mr. Speaker, couple lessons I learned in the Army were you moved to the sound of gunfire and the most important step in the troop leading procedures is to supervise the execution of you orders.
When Americans were fighting for their lives in Benghazi, Barack Obama did neither. He sent no quick reaction force and didn’t even stay in the situation room to supervise the execution of his orders. We expect more from the lieutenants in the army than our president gave us that night."

Stop making excuses for Islamist extremist monsters

Stop making excuses for Islamist extremist monsters | New York Post
When it comes to fanatical Islam, we’re entranced by the symptoms but refuse to name the disease.
The extremes to which Western elites will go to avoid blaming radical Islam for terrorism cripples our efforts to protect innocent Muslims.
Terrified of offending butchers, we insist that we’re the bigots, not them. We make excuses for monsters.
Boko Haram, whose name means “Western learning is forbidden,” kidnaps 200 schoolgirls, and the world rightly takes notice.
But what about the thousands of peaceful civilians, both Christian and Muslim, Boko Haram has killed, purportedly to install an Islamist state?
What about the medical workers, pious volunteers, who are murdered in a faith’s name?
Hollywood suddenly woke up to Islamic fundamentalism last week in the strangest possible way, boycotting the Beverly Hills Hotel because it’s owned by the Sultan of Brunei, who plans to impose the cruelest provisions of Sharia law on his fiefdom’s women.
Hey, I’m all for the boycott (can’t afford the joint, anyway), but this is a combination fashion-statement and NIMBYism par excellence.
On vacation, those same stars will stay happily at the Four Seasons, even though a Saudi prince has owned nearly half of its shares.
How are women’s rights going in Saudi Arabia?
Would Hollywood make the same noise if the sultan just owned the local Motel 6?
