- But that is not the same thing as Washington demanding that Canada abandon or weaken the French language...
Carney could have simply told Canadians what happened:
The U.S. wanted changes to Canadian streaming, content and labelling rules.

- Canada refused some of them.
- Instead, Canadians were given a much more dramatic story about standing up for the French language itself...
