LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:
http://libertyreview76.blogspot.com/2014/10/whats-in-your-future-by-tammy-derouin.html

What's In Your Future?

This is where the math really gets interesting.  Lie plus lie equals truth.  Lie told often enough begins to make sense and magically transforms into the accepted truth.  Accepted truth minus any hope of finding the original equation equals terrifying change.

The transformation of truth to lie, to new truth, priceless or damning, depending which side of the tracks you’re assigned.  Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, extinguished.  What’s in your future?

London woman marries herself after being single for six years

AOL.com Article - London woman marries herself after being single for six years:
"Friends and family of Grace Gelder, joined together at "an idyllic farmhouse" one day in mid-March to see the 31-year-old tie the knot ... with herself.
The London-based photographer revealed in a piece for The Guardian that she got inspiration for the ceremony as a college student after listening to Björk's "Isobel" and hearing the line: "My name's Isobel, married to myself."
After having "built up this brilliant relationship" with herself, the artist thought it was finally time to take the plunge.
She says in the piece that she had been single for six years, but doesn't mention whether she'd been married or in relationship prior to that.
Gelder, who had been on a "journey of personal development" as a single woman, proposed to herself last November on a park bench after studying sexuality and "making agreements with yourself and other people."

Masco Cut’s 160 Jobs in Spite of “Taxpayer Funded Subsidies” | The Bain Report:
"The huge “tax cuts” and “taxpayer funded subsidies” Gov. Snyder and the Republican controlled legislature gave to their big businesses buddies isn’t enough to keep companies from eliminating jobs and or leaving the state such as Pulte Homes did with their move to Atlanta last year.
When you balance those cuts for big business and replace that lost revenue on the backs of Michigan’s taxpaying citizens you take away their disposable income as to spend on these same companies products."

Federal Workers Splurge on Gym Memberships, Hairdos on the Government’s Dime | TheBlaze.com:
"After reports indicating federal employees are improperly using government credit cards to buy unauthorized gym memberships and gift cards, and even to get their hair done, two House members have asked the Government Accountability Office to audit the way these cards are used.

Reps. John Mica (R-Fla.) and Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) asked GAO on Wednesday to update its 2008 audit, which found millions of dollars worth of fraudulent spending by federal employees, and called on federal agencies to tighten up those rules."

"Settled science"....yeah right-----BBC News - Climate change: Models 'underplay plant CO2 absorption'

BBC News - Climate change: Models 'underplay plant CO2 absorption':
Global climate models have underestimated the amount of CO2 being absorbed by plants, according to new research.
Scientists say that between 1901 and 2010, living things absorbed 16% more of the gas than previously thought.
The authors say it explains why models consistently overestimated the growth rate of carbon in the atmosphere.
But experts believe the new calculation is unlikely to make a difference to global warming predictions.
The research has been published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Working out the amount of carbon dioxide that lingers in the atmosphere is critical to estimating the future impacts of global warming on temperatures.
About half the CO2 that's produced ends up in the oceans or is absorbed by living things.
But modelling the exact impacts on a global scale is a fiendishly complicated business.

The Myth of the Clinton Surplus

The Myth of the Clinton Surplus
Verifying this is as simple as accessing the U.S. Treasury (see note about this link below) website where the national debt is updated daily and a history of the debt since January 1993 can be obtained.
Considering the government's fiscal year ends on the last day of September each year, and considering Clinton's budget proposal in 1993 took effect in October 1993 and concluded September 1994 (FY1994), here's the national debt at the end of each year of Clinton Budgets:

Fiscal
Year
Year
Ending
National DebtDeficit
FY1993 09/30/1993 $4.411488 trillion
FY1994 09/30/1994 $4.692749 trillion $281.26 billion
FY1995 09/29/1995 $4.973982 trillion $281.23 billion
FY1996 09/30/1996 $5.224810 trillion $250.83 billion
FY1997 09/30/1997 $5.413146 trillion $188.34 billion
FY1998 09/30/1998 $5.526193 trillion $113.05 billion
FY1999 09/30/1999 $5.656270 trillion $130.08 billion
FY2000 09/29/2000 $5.674178 trillion $17.91 billion
FY2001 09/28/2001 $5.807463 trillion $133.29 billion

As can clearly be seen, in no year did the national debt go down, nor did Clinton leave President Bush with a surplus that Bush subsequently turned into a deficit.
Yes, the deficit was almost eliminated in FY2000 (ending in September 2000 with a deficit of "only" $17.9 billion), but it never reached zero--let alone a positive surplus number.
And Clinton's last budget proposal for FY2001, which ended in September 2001, generated a $133.29 billion deficit.
The growing deficits started in the year of the last Clinton budget, not in the first year of the Bush administration.

How to communicate when the world goes silent

How to communicate when the world goes silent
So how would you communicate with your family or get help if communications go down?
So if you found yourself in the middle of a wide-scale disaster such as a hurricane or other catastrophe and you had no government coming to help for a while, how would you communicate with your family or others?
What if the power grid went down?
You won’t be able to rely on your cell phone.
There are alternatives, however.
I’ll go over the basics of some emergency communication methods but if you want more detail, check out Personal Emergency Communications: Staying in Touch Post-Disaster: Technology, Gear and Planning.
During many recent events, cell phone service wasn’t an option for many for days.
The system became seriously overloaded on 9/11 so calls wouldn’t go through, 70% of the towers went down during Katrina and were down for days, and most areas haven’t been adequately improved across the US.Short-term emergencies have shown the limitations of using cell phones to coordinate with each other.
Even if the towers are operational, they can’t handle the added traffic of millions of people trying to get a hold of loved ones – or help.
Ever had trouble calling your mother on the morning of Mother’s Day?
These won’t be isolated events.
Don’t think that because you live in a large metropolitan area that you’re safer.
A quick look at some of the things that went on during Hurricane Sandy in NY will show that the government has a lot to deal with in addition to just trying to get your cell phone service back up so even though that was a pretty short-term event, it caused a lot of problems.

Holi crapoli! I never knew it was that bad!-----During the 'Lost Decade,' Michigan Shed More Jobs Than U.S. as a Whole

During the 'Lost Decade,' Michigan Shed More Jobs Than U.S. as a Whole [Michigan Capitol Confidential]
(In a Sept. 23 interview, the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, Lisa Brown, said, "I think the Granholm years, you know, weren’t as bad as we think.” This article is part of a Michigan Capitol Confidential series examining how the state’s economy actually fared during Michigan’s "lost decade.")
Images from
During the 'Lost Decade,' Michigan Shed More Jobs Than U.S. as a WholeWhen the Great Recession hit the U.S. in December of 2007, state economies buckled.
But in the four years preceding it Michigan was the only state to lose jobs overall.
The state lost 148,100 jobs from 2003 through 2007 while the U.S. added 7.6 million jobs.
Over the entire decade, from 2000 to 2009, the state lost 805,900 jobs, or 1 in every 6 – a 17.2 percent reduction in employment.
The next closest state to bleed that many jobs was Ohio, which lost 9.9 percent of its jobs in those years.
Nationwide, the U.S. began the decade with modest declines in employment, but then job growth picked up strongly through 2007.
It fell off a cliff in 2008 and 2009; overall, the U.S. lost 786,000 jobs from 2000 to 2009.
While the Great Recession job loss in the United States was bad, Michigan’s decline began much earlier and was catastrophic.
The Wolverine State lost more jobs over the decade than the net job loss for the entire nation

Russian news outlet Ria Novosti recently featured an interview with Professor Francis Boyle, University of Illinois College of Law, implicating the United States military-industrial complex in the current Ebola outbreak which the World Health Organization claims has now taken over 4,000 lives in West Africa.
“US government agencies have a long history of carrying out allegedly defensive biological warfare research at labs in Liberia and Sierra Leone. This includes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is now the point agency for managing the Ebola spill-over into the US,” Prof. Francis Boyle said.
“Why has the Obama administration dispatched troops to Liberia when they have no training to provide medical treatment to dying Africans? How did Zaire/Ebola get to West Africa from about 3,500km away from where it was first identified in 1976?”

“Why is the CDC not better-prepared for this emergency after the US government spent about $70 billion since the anthrax attacks of October 2001 to prepare for this exact contingency?” Boyle said.

Odious District Expels Teen Girl For Carrying Grandpa's Pocketknife

Odious District Expels Teen Girl For Carrying Grandpa's Pocketknife - Hit & Run : Reason.com: "More "zero tolerance" injustice, this time from the Dearborn Heights school district in Detroit, Michigan.
Atiya Haynes, an honors students and college-bound 17-year-old, was emerging from the bathroom at a high school football game when school officials decided to search her.
(It's not clear why this was done, but I take it that such searches are merely routine at school events—in other words, there was no specific suspicion that Haynes had done something wrong.)

Officials found a pocketknife in Haynes' purse.
She told them she had forgotten that she was carrying the knife, which was a gift from her grandfather.
In a sane world, it would be completely reasonable for her to carry a pocketknife for protection; she biked long distances across southwest Detroit to get to her job last summer, for instance.

But because it is illegal to carry any weapon on school grounds for any reason—even with good reason, or by accident—she was promptly expelled.
The Board of Education eventually relented, but only slightly: Haynes is still suspended for the rest of the year, but will be able to take online classes and graduate."

Obama says, "Obligation to Make Sure Africans are Safe" - Eagle Rising:

"Barack Obama spoke out on the Ebola virus in the US. While he claimed that it was his job to make sure Americans were taken care of, he said he had a larger role. What's that role you ask? What could be larger than doing his job to secure the borders and obey his oath of office? According to Obama, it's making sure that Africans, particularly children and their families, are safe."

Spinning out of control------Yemen rebels take port city, province near capital

Yemen rebels take port city, province near capital - SFGate:
SANAA, Yemen Shiite rebels who recently overran Yemen’s capital on Tuesday seized control of a key port city on the Red Sea and a province south of Sanaa in a stunning new blitz that is certain to deepen the country’s turmoil, security and military officials said.
The land grab indicates the rebels, also known as the Houthis, may be determined to carve out a mini-state within Yemen, taking advantage of the weakness of the central government and the disarray in the army and security forces.
The Shiite rebels’ offensive is the latest chapter in the chaos prevailing across much of this impoverished country on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula.

9 Ominous Signals: Is the stock market about to crash?

9 Ominous Signals: Is the stock market about to crash?:
The following article has been generously contributed by Michael Snyder, founder of The Economic Collapse Blog and author of The Beginning of the End.
Editor’s Note: Since the stock market’s reversal following the crash of 2008 to new highs today many observers have warned that the fundamental economic, financial and monetary problems that caused the crash to begin with have yet to be resolved. In fact, by all accounts things have only gotten worse
But you wouldn’t know it if you’ve only been paying to the official numbers being disseminated by the government or the constant blathering on about economic recovery from financial media pundits.
Frankly, the whole of the industrialized world knows something is wrong and those with any sense are now just waiting for the system to finally buckle.
We’re starting to see major gaps in economic progress – real estate is dropping like a brick, more people are exiting the labor force than ever before, and tens of millions of people per month are requesting social assistance from the government just so that they can put food on the table.
To put it mildly, the situation is deteriorating.
Even the stock market, America’s pillar of financial success, is finally starting to crack.
In the following article Michael Snyder highlights some critical signals that are appearing now.
We saw them prior to the last crash, and while past performance is not a guarantee of future results, things are certainly looking ominous going into this holiday shopping season.
How long can the U.S. economy hold on to the facade?

9 Ominous Signals Coming From The Financial Markets That We Have Not Seen In Years
By Michael Snyder (Economic Collapse Blog)
Is the stock market about to crash?  Hopefully not, and there definitely have been quite a few “false alarms” over the past few years.
But without a doubt we have been living through one of the greatest financial bubbles in U.S. history, and the markets are absolutely primed for a full-blown crash.  That doesn’t mean that one will happen now, but we are starting to see some ominous things happen in the financial world that we have not seen happen in a very long time.
So many of the same patterns that we witnessed just prior to the bursting of the dotcom bubble and just prior to the 2008 financial crisis are repeating themselves again.
Hopefully we still have at least a little bit more time before stocks completely crash, because when this market does implode it is going to be a doozy.
The following are 9 ominous signals coming from the financial markets that we have not seen in years…

"It should be noted that Hickenlooper reacted to the Aurora movie shooting by crusading for unconstitutional gun laws that unfairly punish all law-abiding Coloradans. However, for the man who actually murdered citizens, the governor is not only considering sparing his life, but letting him loose on the streets of Colorado as a punishment for the state that refused to reelect him."

University to offer degree in ‘Social Justice Studies’
Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) will become the first school in Kentucky to offer a Social Justice Studies (SJS) degree emphasizing the “struggles for social justice.”
Students enrolled in the Social Justice Studies program will be educated in a variety of topics such as American Studies, anthropology, cultural and political geography, sociology, and political economy, and will gain an “understanding of justice and injustice and strategies by which problems can be overcome.”
"Such programs are necessary to educate students in enhancing the social, cultural and environmental health of the state."
“The interdisciplinary program will critically examine the cultural, economic and political dynamics of societal conflict and struggles for social justice among and between various groups and institutions,” according to a press release from EKU.

Union Leader Celebrates Failing School’s Performance

Union Leader Celebrates Failing School’s Performance [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"NEA President Lily Eskelsen Garcia stopped at Flint Northwestern as part of statewide tour on Sept. 24 to celebrate it being moved off a Michigan Department of Education "priority schools list."
The state applies this label to the lowest performing 5 percent of schools, which makes them subject to increased supervision.
When Flint Northwestern finished among the bottom 6 percent instead, it dodged this status by two percentage points.
Academic outcomes at the school show little cause for celebration. Flint Northwestern had a four-year graduation rate of 66 percent in 2012-13 — its lowest in five years.
In 2010-11, it was ranked among the bottom 13 percent of Michigan public schools.
In 2011-12, it fell to the bottom 8 percent, and in 2012-13 joined the lowest 5 percent.
In that year, 17 percent of students scored proficient on the Michigan Merit Exam reading test.
The school's ranking in the bottom 6 percent this year represents a marginal improvement after three years of decline.
Yet during her visit, Eskelsen Garcia said, “This is a school that did it right.”
She told school employees, "To me, a really good school is one that's involving the whole community in caring for kids,"
"We're moving up!" a Northwestern teacher said, according to a Michigan Education Association press release."
