Bigger government promises, promises.........Snyder creates agency focused on energy policy

Snyder creates agency focused on energy policy - Crain's Detroit Business:
"LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder is creating a state agency devoted to coordinating energy policy decisions.
The executive order signed Wednesday creates the Michigan Agency for Energy in 60 days and moves some functions from other agencies under its purview.
“Michigan families and businesses need a future without fear of unaffordable energy price spikes or widespread outages that disrupt lives and work,” Snyder said in a statement.
“The new agency will oversee how our state responds to the energy challenges that we know are before us, and will work across state government to help Michigan reduce energy waste and adapt to changing needs and technology....”

Obama Says It Would Be ‘Fun’ to Amend the Constitution to Do This | TheBlaze.com:

"At a town hall meeting in Cleveland Wednesday, an audience member asked Obama about overturning the 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court decision, in which the justices deemed limits on political spending to be a violation of free speech.

“Here’s the problem."

How Wind Energy Creates More Dependence on Fossil Fuels

How Wind Energy Creates More Dependence on Fossil Fuels [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"Truth has a habit of emerging from unexpected places.
An article in the Daily Kos about the desire to end dependence on fossil fuels for energy needs reveals a “nasty little secret” about wind energy: It relies on fossil fuels.
That’s a message wind energy opponents in Michigan have been trying to get across to the news media and the public over the past few years.
The article is part of a series titled “Getting to Zero,” by Keith Pickering, and is written with the premise that global warming is a dire and immediate threat.
It states, “If civilization is to survive, we need to get to zero emission of fossil carbon, and we need to get there rapidly.”
Overall it paints a pessimistic portrait of efforts to reduce carbon emissions from human sources."

Taking a "long", hot shower is the government's business?!!!----Is Government Shower Regulation in the Offing?

Is Government Shower Regulation in the Offing? | Somewhat Reasonable
The Government that gave us multi-flush, easily stopped up toilets; dim, annoying, expensive compact fluorescent light bulbs; and that just last year pushed to ban inexpensive Christmas lights, preventing the poor from lighting up their Christmas trees and homes for the holidays, now want to tell weary travelers how much time they can spend in the shower in their hotel rooms.
...According to the Washington Free Beacon EPA wants hotels to monitor their guests shower activity and scold them into taking shorter showers.
Per the Beacon:
[The EPA]  is spending $15,000 to create a wireless system that will track how much water a hotel guest uses to get them to “modify their behavior.”
“Hotels consume a significant amount of water in the U.S. and around the world,” an EPA grant to the University of Tulsa reads. “Most hotels do not monitor individual guest water usage and as a result, millions of gallons of potable water are wasted every year by hotel guests.”....

"Blame America" still thrives on American campuses------Why Did Russia Invade Ukraine?

Why Did Russia Invade Ukraine?
...The Soviet invasion of the Americas was not done to protect the hemisphere from harm.
The Sandinistas in Nicaragua were full Soviet and Cuban proxies seeking the overthrow of a number of sovereign nations in Central and South America, including El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Colombia.
The Soviet campaign of terror then was launched precisely to change governments so that various countries would become Soviet allies.
The government of Ukraine posed no military threat to Moscow.
The "threat" from Ukraine is that its democratic character might "infect" the Russian people.
Putin invades Ukraine. On cue, Walt blames America.
Harvard professor Stephen M. Walt, in "What Putin Learned From Reagan," complains that the United States has only itself to blame for President Vladimir Putin's aggression against Ukraine.
The professor notes, "Russia's power play for Ukraine takes a page out of the Gipper's playbook," and that Putin's "conduct is not that different from the actions of venerated leaders like Ronald Reagan."
Walt's thesis is that America's support during the Reagan administration for the democratic resistance in Nicaragua, popularly known as "the contras," although unwarranted, was emblematic of what "big powers" such as America do.

Josh Earnest: ‘It Doesn’t Matter’ if There Are Similar Past Examples of Congress Intervening in Foreign Policy | TheBlaze.com:

"After having called the letter signed by 47 Republican senators to the leaders of Iran “unprecedented,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest nevertheless dismissed past examples of members of Congress intervening in foreign policy.

Earnest said Tuesday “it doesn’t matter” if the previous examples are relevant, but rather the principle that Congress shouldn’t interfere with the president’s conducting of foreign negotiations."

"Tax and punish"----Al Gore at SXSW: We Need to 'Punish Climate-Change Deniers' and 'Put a Price on Carbon'

Al Gore at SXSW: We Need to 'Punish Climate-Change Deniers' and 'Put a Price on Carbon' » EcoWatch:
"For the third time in the last few years, Al Gore, founder and chairman of the Climate Reality Project, spoke at the festival on Friday.
Naturally, his interactive discussion focused on addressing the climate crisis.
The former vice president focused on the need to “punish climate-change deniers, saying politicians should pay a price for rejecting ‘accepted science,'” said the Chicago Tribune.
Gore said forward-thinking investors are moving away from companies that invest in fossil fuels and towards companies investing in renewable energy.
"We need to put a price on carbon to accelerate these market trends,” Gore told the Chicago Tribune, referring to a proposed federal cap-and-trade system that would penalize companies that exceeded their carbon-emission limits.
“And in order to do that, we need to put a price on denial in politics.”

Curtain of Darkness

By Tammy Derouin

Truth, justice and the American way were once acceptable standards in American society.  Somewhere along the line, truth and justice were discarded and it became politically incorrect to say, “…And the American way.”  We now live in a society where the Joker runs rampant and Superman cowers in the corner apologizing for his very existence.  Spinning the world into chaos and bringing about death and destruction has become the new standard.  Spinning the earth to right the wrongs, is a dusty, old concept.

What is the definition of the American way in present day America?  When did the American way become politically incorrect and why?  Why do those in power seek to destroy the land of the free and home of the brave?  Why have we allowed so many of our leaders to arm the Jokers of the world, while disarming the American people?

The ruling party arms the very people who openly call for the destruction of our nation.  Our leaders invite our enemies into the White House.  They sit across the table from them in negotiations; seemingly more concerned about securing a deal for those who wish to destroy us, than keeping the United States safe and secure.

The administration might as well put Kryptonite on the table.

Free the Volts!

Free the Volts! - Michigan Freedom Fund:
Another frigid Michigan winter and another round of jaw dropping electric bills hitting mailboxes across Michigan.
The current monopoly system is already wreaking havoc on Michigan’s economy and on ratepayers’ wallets, with Michigan families stuck paying more than $3 billion in above-market rates each year.
Worst of all?  Your rates don’t have to be that high, but Michigan’s failed monopoly-style electric regulation has shot prices through the roof while making the utilities a fortune.
Please sign the petition now to lower rates and bring competition back to Michigan’s energy market!
•     Michigan’s electric rates have increased 30 percent since the state
       abandoned electric choice in 2008.
•     Nationally, rates increased only 2.7 percent in the same time.
•     Michigan’s monopoly system costs consumers $3 billion more than the
       regional average.
•     The cap on choice has cost the state 21,000 jobs per year, since 2008.

“I would sign it in large print so that the ayatollah wouldn’t need his reading glasses to read the signature,” Cruz said."

Celebrated black entertainer and Obama supporter----‘I Hate Everything About This Country’: Rapper Reveals She Hates ‘Fat White Americans’ and ‘Racist Conservative White People’

‘I Hate Everything About This Country’: Rapper Reveals She Hates ‘Fat White Americans’ and ‘Racist Conservative White People’ | TheBlaze.com
Rapper Azealia Banks hates “fat white Americans” and believes that those who live in middle America are “these racist conservative white people who live on their farms,” according to a recent interview she did with Playboy magazine.
Banks, 23, also said that a part of her knows that she’s “not supposed to be worshipping Jesus Christ,” calling it, among other sentiments, “unnatural.”
When asked if she wants to leave the U.S., the rapper said “Yes!” and proceeded to explain her reasons.
“I hate everything about this country.
Like,
I hate fat white Americans,” she said.
“All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms.”
Banks, who was raised in New York City, continued, “Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma — that’s really America.”
...“Black people need reparations for building this country, and we deserve way more f***ing credit and respect,” she said....

1 in 3 college women ‘are raped,’ Jesuit women’s conference tells attendees

1 in 3 college women ‘are raped,’ Jesuit women’s conference tells attendees:
Keynote speaker: All men have a secret desire to rape women in their sleep
A Jesuit school is hosting its first-ever “Women’s Day Conference” this weekend and telling attendees that “1 in 3 college women are raped.”
The Loyola University-Chicago conference will feature an interesting cast of characters, including a drag queen and an English instructor who believes men fantasize about raping women in their sleep.
...The university said drag queen Kahmora Hall will be the emcee for the March 21-22 event. Hall has previously hosted Loyola’s annual Drag Show.
Another presenter is “intersex activist” Pidgeon Pagonis. “They” are a “Youth Coordinator” for an intersex group.
The keynote speaker will be Shelly Conner, a Loyola English instructor who has written previously that all men have a secret desire to rape women in their sleep.
In an article for The Feminist Wire titled “Don’t Get Caught Sleeping: Male Desire of Unconscious Women,” Conner argued that men are taught that sex is better when women are in a passive state.
...The conference includes five separate tracks, including on race and gender...
...It requires attendees to answer the question: “Who do you push forward (advocate) for” and why? The “default” answer is: “I push forward for sexual assault survivors because 1 in 3 college women are raped, no one should be.”
It also points attendees to the conference Facebook page for “examples”: One poster with a student says “we do 2/3 of the world’s work and receive 10% of its income.”

Hillary Stuck in 90's, Confirmed - The Rush Limbaugh Show:

"RUSH:  He just admitted that she did what she did -- this private server, and the private e-mail domain, he just admitted that she did that to avoid congressional oversight.  Now, the Carville of 20 years ago would not have made this kind of blunder.  Mrs. Clinton is running around trying to say, "No, no, no, I was not trying to hide anything from anybody, I want people to read my e-mails.  Why, here are 30,000 of them right now."

By the way, I have a question for you.  Mrs. Clinton printed out 30,000-plus e-mails, sent 'em over to the Justice Department after claiming (imitating Hillary), "We've gone through all 60,000, and this is it, there's nothing in there that -- just trust me."

British Airways Flight Reportedly Forced To Land Because Of 'Smelly Poo'

British Airways Flight Reportedly Forced To Land Because Of 'Smelly Poo'
It's said that he who smelt it dealt it, but in this case everyone smelt it -- and it was so bad an airplane was forced to make an emergency landing.
British Airways flight that was traveling to Dubai on Thursday night instead returned to England when a "smelly poo" in the toilet made continuing to the final destination untenable, according to the Mirror.
The cause of the unplanned landing was revealed by British politician Abhishek Sachdev, the Hertsmere councilor who represents Potters Bar Parkfield in England.
Sachdev tweeted:

The decision to turn back came just 30 minutes into the 7-hour flight, the Telegraph reports.
"We're very sorry for the discomfort to our customers," British Airways said in a statement to The Huffington Post.
"We provided them with hotel accommodation and rescheduled the flight to depart the next day."
The Airline declined to give further details on the incident and the "poo" culprit remains unknown.

Most Americans have a gloomy outlook for life in 2050

Most Americans have a gloomy outlook for life in 2050:
"What will life in America be like in 2050?
Turns out 54 percent of participants in a recent survey expect it to go downhill, while only 23 percent think it will improve.
WASHINGTON — Ask people to imagine American life in 2050, and you’ll get some dreary visions.
Whether they foresee runaway technology or runaway government, rampant poverty or vanishing morality, a majority of Americans predict a future worse than today.
Whites are particularly gloomy:
Only 1 in 6 expects better times over the next four decades.
Also notably pessimistic are middle-age and older people, those who earn midlevel incomes and Protestants, a new national poll finds."

"This is the first year fines are being collected from uninsured people the government deems able to afford coverage. Tax preparation company H&R Block says the penalty averages about $170 among its affected customers. It usually is deducted from a person’s tax refund.

Those penalized are mainly the kind of people the law was intended to help: low- and middle-income workers who do not have coverage on the job or are self-employed. Roughly 4 million people are expected to pay fines, according to congressional estimates. Many more will qualify for exemptions."
