The American Stage

By Tammy Derouin

I wonder how many other Americans feel like they are now sitting in the passenger seat of an out-of-control vehicle. The eyes dart from the map to the road, back and forth, knowing full well that something isn’t right.  We have been off course at different times in our past.  This will happen from time to time.  Experience from the past has taught us that when the scenery doesn’t look familiar and we get that undeniable feeling in the pit of our stomach, it’s time to pull over and regroup.  Of course, there are a few roles which need to be clearly established.

The driver, the navigator and the arbiter all have different roles.  Each performs a vital function.  Neither is greater than or lesser than the other.  Their knowledge may be very similar but their responsibilities are different.  All roles are necessary to ensure that the correct path is traveled.  Each role establishes boundaries.  Although everyone may have similar knowledge, individual desires and the means to an end may vary.

The driver assumes the lead position.  He becomes the front man, the representative of the entire vehicle.  That doesn’t mean he is all knowing or all powerful.  He is not on a solo mission.  For whatever reason, his experience, knowledge, ability to cow poo through a conversation or the inability for the rest of the crew or passengers to see his fatal flaws, has put him in the driver’s seat.  However he got there, he’s there until the others recognize a smoking engine and a stiff right leg.

"CNN’s Dana Bash went hard after Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Sunday, but I think it was a fair attack. She focused in on the negative similarities between President Obama (pre-2008 election) and Senator Ted Cruz as he begins his run for the White House. She wondered aloud what the difference was between the “not ready for prime time” Senator Obama and Cruz, pointing out that neither has a whole lot of experience in politics or in governing."

Wave the czar's wand and bankrupt our country------Obama’s Strategy on Climate Change, Part of Global Deal, Is Revealed

Obama’s Strategy on Climate Change, Part of Global Deal, Is Revealed - NYTimes.com
"...Mr. Obama’s new blueprint brings together several domestic initiatives that were already in the works, including freezing construction of new coal fired power plants, increasing the fuel economy of vehicles and plugging methane leaks from oil and gas production.
It is meant to describe how the United States will lead by example and meet its pledge for cutting emissions.
But the plan’s reliance on executive authority is an acknowledgment that any proposal to pass climate change legislation would be blocked by the Republican controlled Congress..."

Obama Doesn't Want to Stop Iran

Obama Doesn't Want to Stop Iran - The Rush Limbaugh Show
"RUSH: We are not stopping them.
We do not have an administration that wants to stop them.
That's what everybody seems to have trouble realizing or admitting here.
We do not have an administration that wants to stop Iran.
It's just the opposite in fact.
There's a reason that Iran's running rampant. It's that nobody's stopping them. I take that back.
The French are trying to.
Imagine that.
The French are bigger hawks than we are.
Of course the Israelis are trying to stop it.
Even some of the other European nations, the P5+1 group.
But they can't do it.
They can't do it without us, and we're not on the same page with them.
This administration does not want to stop Iran from its ultimate aim: Getting nuclear weapons."

Forcing Israel's hand----Bibi Blasts Iran Talks After Iranian General Says ‘Israel’s Destruction Is Non-Negotiable’

Bibi Blasts Iran Talks After Iranian General Says ‘Israel’s Destruction Is Non-Negotiable’ | Washington Free Beacon
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement on negotiations with Iran:
"Yesterday an Iranian general brazenly declared and I quote: ‘Israel’s destruction is non-negotiable’, but evidently giving Iran’s murderous regime a clear path to the bomb is negotiable. This is unconscionable. I agree with those who have said that Iran’s claim that its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes doesn’t square with Iran’s insistence on keeping underground nuclear facilities, advanced centrifuges and a heavy water reactor. Nor does it square with Iran’s insistence on developing ICBMs and its refusal to come clean with the IAEA on its past weaponization efforts. At the same time, Iran is accelerating its campaign of terror, subjugation and conquest throughout the region, most recently in Yemen.
The concessions offered to Iran in Lausanne would ensure a bad deal that would endanger Israel, the Middle East and the peace of the world. Now is the time for the international community to insist on a better deal. A better deal would significantly roll back Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. A better deal would link the eventual lifting of the restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program to a change in Iran’s behavior. Iran must stop its aggression in the region, stop its terrorism throughout the world and stop its threats to annihilate Israel. That should be non-negotiable and that’s the deal that the world powers must insist upon. Thank you.

Racism OK if advocated bt racists who are politically correct-----Black NYC councilwoman: It might be ‘beneficial’ to assign public housing by ethnic group

NYC councilwoman: It might be ‘beneficial’ to assign public housing by ethnic group | New York Post:
"A Brooklyn city councilwoman wants to know why “blocs” of Asians are living in two Fort Greene housing projects — and suggested it would be “beneficial” to assign housing by ethnic group.
“How is it that one specific ethnic group has had the opportunity to move into a development in large numbers?” Laurie Cumbo, who is black, said at a council hearing on public housing Thursday
...Still, Cumbo told The Post, “There could be some benefit to housing people by culture . . . I think it needs to be discussed.”"
