Sean Hannity Gives Ted Cruz a Hard Time— ‘You Gotta Stop’ | Glenn Beck:
"A caller on Glenn’s radio program Wednesday shared how livid she was about the treatment Ted Cruz received from Sean Hannity the night prior.
“I think that was staged, just so he could let the senator have it,” the caller (Teresa) said. “But you got to get up pretty early in the morning to put one over on Ted Cruz. I was so proud of him.”
Glenn played an audio clip of the interview and offered insight on a deeper reason behind Hannity’s frustration. Watch or read the transcript below."

"Progressive Today" going after Bernie?!!-----Bernie Sanders' Wife May Have Steered BUSINESS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS

"Allegations of corruption against Bernie Sanders; wife Jane during her time leading Burlington College are beginning to pile up and the media refuses to address the story.
Heat Street just released this report:
Did Bernie Sanders’ Wife Steer Contracts to Friends and Family?Bernie Sanders’ wife, Jane, ran Burlington College from 2004 to 2011, eventually leaving as the small Vermont college came under financial pressure. Part of the reason for the school’s fiscal strain was a real-estate deal gone bad. Some local Catholic parishioners have now accused her of loan fraud in connection with the deal. (See details here .)But there were other worrisome allegations against Jane Sanders from her time at the college. The Washington Free Beacon recently broke news that under Ms. Sanders’ leadership, the college enrolled students at a Vermont woodworking school run by Ms. Sanders’ daughter. Between 2009 and 2011, the college paid more than $328,000 to the woodworking school, Burlington disclosed in its tax filings.
And between 2009 and 2011, the school also spent more than $77,000 at a resort in the Bahamas owned by a board member who was also a friend and trusted adviser to Bernie Sanders, the college’s tax filings show.Court records show students went on trips there, snorkeling and taking boat tours. Watchdog.org reported that the same old friend, Jonathan Leopold, was a “key broker” on an ambitious acquisition of Roman Catholic diocese property that left Burlington in dire financial straits. (This Heat Street separate story delves into the allegations that Jane Sanders committed “loan fraud” as part of the purchase of this desirable property. )Shortly after Ms. Sanders departed, taking a $200,000 severance package with her, Burlington College stopped spending money at both her daughter’s woodworking school and the resort owned by Leopold’s son.
There’s more here.

We git what we deserve-----Trustee's 18 months of paid absences prompts attendance policy changes in Ypsilanti Township
Trustee's 18 months of paid absences prompts attendance policy changes in Ypsilanti Township | MLive.com:
"YPSILANTI, MI -- Ypsilanti Township Trustee Jean Hall Currie hasn't attended a Board of Trustees meeting since October 2014 due to an unspecified illness.
But she's still receiving paychecks, and will continue to do so until her term is up in November.
Already taxpayers have paid Hall Currie around $22,000 for her no shows.
That's an issue to Ypsilanti Township leaders, but there's nothing within the state law that allows them to withhold her payment or remove her from the Board.
...Trustees are paid for $15,000 for 20 meetings each calendar year, not including special meetings
...Though she's quieter than the other elected officials at the board table, Hall Currie, who has served as a trustee since 1988, is popular in terms of votes received.
In the 2012 election, she received the most votes of a dozen trustee candidates with 3,088, representing just under 20 percent of the count.

Pay to play-----Firms that paid for Clinton speeches have US gov't interests
Firms that paid for Clinton speeches have US gov't interests:
"WASHINGTON (AP) — It's not just Wall Street banks.
Most companies and groups that paid Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to speak between 2013 and 2015 have lobbied federal agencies in recent years, and more than one-third are government contractors, an Associated Press review has found.
Their interests are sprawling and would follow Clinton to the White House should she win election this fall.
The AP's review of federal records, regulatory filings and correspondence showed that almost all the 82 corporations, trade associations and other groups that paid for or sponsored Clinton's speeches have actively sought to sway the government — lobbying, bidding for contracts, commenting on federal policy and in some cases contacting State Department officials or Clinton herself during her tenure as secretary of state..."

Target Stores Open Women's Bathrooms, Changing Rooms to Men:
"Customers and potential customers almost immediately spoke out against Target’s decision to ignore the biological difference between men and women.
“Why would you choose to allow men in the women’s restroom when every single store has a single family restroom that can easily accommodate your Transgender customers,” Sandy Bell Small wrote on Facebook. “Way to go Target for choosing to protect the .03% of the ADULT transgender population over your women, children, mothers, grandchildren, teenager population. I’m sure you will say you I longer miss us but I’m sure the $$$’s spent weekly will be felt somewhere.”

So they sue the 7-11?-----Lawyer, family: 7-Eleven, bystanders failed assault victim before he died
Lawyer, family: 7-Eleven, bystanders failed assault victim before he died - Chicago Tribune:
On Feb. 7, 2016, Marques Gaines was punched and knocked unconscious into a crosswalk outside a 7-Eleven on the Near North Side, where he lay before a taxi ran over him.
Surveillance video released Wednesday captures the last moments of a popular hotel cocktail server who was punched and knocked unconscious, landing in a Near North crosswalk.
The footage also shows more than a dozen bystanders failing to come to his aid in the nearly two minutes before a cab accidentally drives over him.
...Attorney Chris Hurley said the 7-Eleven's operator knew the area surrounding the store suffered from high street crime and should have had well-trained security that could have prevented the actions that led to Gaines' death.
"The simple reason we're here is that a corporation that keeps its stores open 24 hours a day and invites the public in … that knows that it's targeted by criminals needs to provide decent, competent, basic security, and that wasn't done here," he said.
"There's a clear photograph of the aggressor and a clear video of him attacking Marques Gaines.
He hasn't been arrested, and we don't know why," Hurley added..."

‘Doomed to Failure’: International Climate Agreement Will Likely Just Repeat Failed Kyoto Protocol, Senate Report Says | TheBlaze.com:

"The Paris climate agreement the Obama administration is set to sign onto Friday with 54 other countries will likely be even less effective than the famous failed climate accord the Clinton administration signed, according to a Senate report.
The report by the Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee is titled “Lessons From Kyoto: Paris Agreement Will Fail National Economies and the Climate.” President Bill Clinton’s administration entered the Kyoto Protocol in 1997.
“It is amazing how little has changed over time. The Paris agreement, like the Kyoto agreement, is full of empty promises that will have no meaningful impact on the climate,” Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), the committee chairman, said."

Prescription Meds Get Trapped In Disturbing Pee-To-Food-To-Pee Loop
Prescription Meds Get Trapped In Disturbing Pee-To-Food-To-Pee Loop - Slashdot:
"A study published Tuesday in Environmental Science and Technology is the first to validate the long-held suspicion that pharmaceuticals may get trapped in infinite pee-to-food-to-pee loops, exposing consumers to drug doses with unknown health effects.
In a randomized, single-blind pilot study, researchers found that anti-convulsive epilepsy drug carbamazepine, which is released in urine, can accumulate in crops irrigated with recycled water -- treated sewage -- and end up in the urine of produce-eaters not on the drugs.
While the amounts of the drug in produce-eater's pee were four orders of magnitude lower than what is seen in the pee of patients purposefully taking the drugs, researchers speculate that the trace amounts could still have health effects in some people, such as those with a genetic sensitivity to the drugs, pregnant women, children, and those who eat a lot of produce, such as vegetarians.
And with the growing practice of reclaiming wastewater for crop irrigation -- particularly in places that face water shortages such as California, Israel, and Spain --- the produce contamination could become more common and more potent, the authors argue."

5 Tips For A Successful Social Justice Warrior Cake Hoax
Are You Planning A Cake Hoax?
These 5 Tips Will Make Sure It’s A Success
But as the links above show, you have to be good at your game if you don’t want to be caught. Sure, the media will believe you and run far and wide with your story before checking it, and that’s good enough to keep these hoaxes coming for the years to come. But if you want to keep your cake hoax from being revealed by citizens less credulous than the media, here are some tips to get you going.
Are You Planning A Cake Hoax?
These 5 Tips Will Make Sure It’s A Success
APRIL 19, 2016 By Mollie Hemingway
Social Justice Warrior hoaxing is having a heyday. Whether you’re a multi-racial family surreptitiously spray-painting your own home with racist graffiti, a lesbian waitress writing fake anti-gay notes on receipts, an overweight teen falsely claiming a store clerk called you fat, or an activist sending yourself hateful tweets, never has the time been better to advance your cause using a bit of fakery.
Let’s look at a story from yesterday that was good enough to fool various journalists but not good enough to fool anyone else.
Jordan Brown, a gay pastor in Austin, filed a lawsuit against Whole Foods claiming he was discriminated against. He says he ordered a cake reading “Love Wins” but that a homophobe cake decorator added “FAG” underneath. You should be able to figure out on your own that this is most likely not true. But let’s just say it’s so false that Whole Foods is taking legal action against Brown.
Some tips that Brown should have followed if he wanted his hoax to have staying power.
#1 Pick A Believable Villain
If you’re a gay black progressive in Austin, Texas, Whole Foods is not a credible villain for your cake hoax passion play. Have some common sense. Whole Foods is known for selling overpriced kombucha, locally sourced quail eggs, and Buddhist magazines. It’s just not believable that their Dallas locations are a hotbed of cartoonish bigotry, much less Austin.

THAT MEANS IT’S WORKING: UnitedHealth Group to exit Obamacare exchanges in all but a ‘handful’ of states.
“We will be down to a handful of states that we will be actively participating in the exchanges,” Stephen J. Hemsley, chief executive officer of UnitedHealth Group said in an earnings call, noting that the small market size and greater expense of patients insured through the marketplaces led the insurer to make the decision.
UnitedHealth plans to withdraw from health insurance marketplaces in Arkansas, Michigan, Connecticut and parts of Georgia. The decision is a sequel to an announcement by executives late last year that the insurer had suffered financial losses and might leave the health exchanges altogether in 2017. UnitedHealth reported that it expects to lose $650 million in the exchanges in 2016.
UnitedHealth is only a minor player on the exchanges, yet the company still expects to lose most of a billion dollars just this year.
But UnitedHealth is hardly alone. Even the pro-ObamaCare Kaiser Family Foundation said that “Something has to give” on the exchanges, and that “Either insurers will drop out or insurers will raise premiums.”

But when she looked around campus for some good ole racism, she found none.
So what did she do?
Took to Twitter and created some of her own.

She then returned to the rally to tell people about the threats.
State prosecutors will recommend that Kayla KcKelvey be sentenced to 90 days in jail and that she pay restitution of about $82,000 to cover the costs of the police response and heightened security at Kean University after the threats.

Brussels boss Jean-Claude Juncker fears EU will collapse | Politics | News | Daily Express:
Jean-Claude Juncker said the dream of European integration could collapse “in ruins”.
Public support has collapsed right across the EU’s 28 member nations, said Mr Juncker, who is European Commission President.
In an astonishing confession of failure, he added: “We are no longer respected in our countries when we emphasise the need to give priority to the EU.”.
His remarks, in a speech in Strasbourg, were being seen last night as recognition of public revulsion at the EU ahead of Britain’s in-or-out referendum on June 23.
Campaigners for an EU exit said Mr Juncker’s confession proved the UK will be better off out.
Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the Vote Leave campaign group, said: “Even the Eurocrats admit the EU isn’t working for Europe.

“It is unfortunately clear that many of the world’s leaders are developing a form of paranoia about legitimate journalism,” Reporters Without Borders secretary-general Christophe Deloire said in a statement.
The United States, which is supposed to be a bastion of the free press, managed to move up eight spots from its 2015 ranking but still is not strong.
“U.S. media freedom, enshrined in the First Amendment to the 1787 Constitution, has encountered a major obstacle — the government’s war on whistleblowers who leak information about its surveillance activities, spying and foreign operations, especially those linked to counter-terrorism,” the report says. “Furthermore, U.S. journalists are still not protected by a federal ‘shield law’ guaranteeing their right not to reveal their sources and other confidential work-related information.”
