Read all!A couple years ago, when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were getting divorced, Jolie was quoted as saying, ‘It never even crossed my mind that my son would need a father.’I was struck by her comment, and I remember wondering how many other Americans might share her view. At the time, I didn’t think many. But today, I’m convinced the number is significant. I'm also amazed at how quickly fatherhood has fallen out of favor. Can you imagine a celebrity - or anyone for that matter - saying such a thing just twenty years ago? This week’s episode of RTF [Returning the Favor] is about a guy named Carlos who found an effective way to deprogram bullies. Please watch it. It's a great story about a great guy making a real difference around a serious issue. It occurred to me though, half way through filming, that bullying – like so many other social ills in today’s headlines – isn’t really a problem at all; it’s a symptom. In my view, a symptom of a society that seems to value fatherhood less and less. The facts seem pretty clear.
- 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes – 5 times the average. (US Dept. Of Health/Census)
- 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes – 32 times the average.
- 85% of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Center for Disease Control)
- 80% of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes – 14 times the average. (Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26)
- 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (National Principals Association Report)
- 43% of US children live without their father [US Department of Census]
Is it really so surprising to learn that a majority of bullies also come from fatherless homes? As do a majority of school shooters? As do a majority of older male shooters?..."

DHS expands power to initiate deportations - Washington Times
DHS expands power to initiate deportations - Washington Times:
The Trump administration has expanded the government’s deportation powers, issuing guidelines urging officers at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services — the agency that oversees legal immigration and naturalization — to begin the removal process for people who use fraudulent documents or who illegally took government benefits.
USCIS officers have always had powers, but in the past had usually referred cases to other parts of Homeland Security for decisions on deportation.

Yes, it's "The B"... but could easily be the NYT-----Tim Tebow Suspended For Using Performance-Enhancing Bible Verses
Tim Tebow Suspended For Using Performance-Enhancing Bible Verses:"BINGHAMTON, NY—League officials confirmed Thursday that Double-A baseball player and devout Christian Tim Tebow has been suspended for using performance-enhancing Bible verses both on and off the field.
Tebow was spotted injecting the encouraging Bible passages into his morning devotional in the team’s locker room and was reported to appropriate authorities.
He is barred from playing in the league until a full investigation of his Bible-reading activities can be conducted.
“The league has a zero-tolerance policy on Bible verses that inspire and encourage a player to do his best and play for the glory of God, and thus bestow an unfair advantage,” league investigator Mack Columbeau said in a press conference.“We will be looking into this matter objectively and completely before rendering a final judgment on Mr. Tebow.
If he has violated league policy, he’ll be punished appropriately.”
According to sources close to the matter, Tebow had looked around to make sure no one was in the locker room, but had forgotten the closed circuit cameras.
He then flipped to the “highly illegal” PEVs Philippians 4:13 and Joshua 1:9 and slowly read through them and their appropriate contexts, before hiding his Bible contraband back in his baseball bag and trotting out to the field for practice.
“The evidence is pretty convincing—this doesn’t look good for Tebow’s career,” Columbeau added."

"Parents "have put their own happiness above the best interests of their kids."
"If you’ve followed Intellectual Takeout for any length of time, you’ll know that Fatherhood is a regular topic.
You’ll also probably recognize that it’s not a popular topic in the culture.
The Ivory Tower declares patriarchy as one of the great sins of the West.
Hollywood and Madison Ave. do their parts to mock and belittle fatherhood, often portraying fathers as buffoons and fools.
And government, many would argue, has created systemic forms of oppression that work against fathers.
Yet, in the face of it all, more and more people are beginning to question the narrative.
Here’s Mike Rowe’s recent take on the issue:

Senator Collins and the Imaginary Roe Decision – Da Tech Guy Blog:
Senator Collins and the Imaginary Roe Decision Ellen Kolb
“I would not support a nominee who demonstrated hostility to Roe v. Wade because that would mean to me that their judicial philosophy did not include a respect for established decisions, established law….Roe v. Wade is a constitutional right that is well established.”
Thus spake Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), according to a CNN report.
But which Roe v. Wade decision does Sen. Collins stand by?
- There’s the imaginary Roe, which dictates that unregulated abortion be available throughout pregnancy.
- Then there’s the actual Roe, which permits states to leave abortion unregulated but also permits many laws protecting the lives and safety of mother and preborn child.
Where does Sen. Collins stand on First Amendment protections for peaceful pro-life witnesses outside abortion facilities?
After all, McCullen v. Coakley is “established decision, established law.”
Or does she consider peaceful pro-life witness to be an attack on abortion rights?
How about restrictions on public funding of abortion and abortion counseling?
The Supreme Court OK’d such restrictions decades ago.
Abortion advocates like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU Reproductive Rights Project use terms like “gag rule” to describe efforts to keep abortion providers out of taxpayers’ wallets.
In the Senator’s view, do restrictions on public funding amount to “hostility” to Roe v. Wade?...

Instances of Voter Fraud Continue to Mount, Further Compromising Our Elections | The Heritage Foundation:
Clearly, as the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court have demonstrated, the left’s argument that election integrity is a smoke screen for discrimination is fallacious. And as the Heritage database—and the Ritter and Mason cases—prove, election fraud is a real issue meriting a serious policy response.
Elections are the pathway to political power in America. So long as that is true, there will be a powerful incentive to rig results to guarantee victories. The failure of states to adopt and vigorously enforce election integrity measures only encourages voter fraud, ultimately blemishing the entire electoral system and harming the credibility of its results. This does a disservice to the American people.
One of the greatest gifts of American citizenship is political participation—and that gift is short-circuited by the left’s belittling of the importance of election integrity.

ABC Admits Media Peddled ‘Fake News’ On Immigration, But Suggests It Was Worth It | MRCTV
"ABC openly admitted Sunday to having published “fake news” – their words, not mine – about the Trump administration “losing” 1,500 migrant children, a debunked story that quickly caught fire and spawned countless hashtag campaigns and anti-ICE protests across the country.
(Here's MSNBC's Chris Hayes boo-hooing over the whole nonsensical thing about a month ago.)
Now, well after the myth has been permanently ensconced as fact in the brains of millions of rapid anti-Trumpers nationwide, ABC's admitting the entire thing was false – but, in a stunning feat of mental gymnastics, they claim the bogus story ended up being a good thing.
In an article actually entitled, “A fake news story helps expose a real crisis,” author Lauren Pearle admits the Trump administration was unfairly accused of having “lost” 1,500 kids who’d crossed the southwest U.S. border illegally – a claim I’d disputed in a video roughly four weeks ago, only to be accused of Nazism by radical progressives.
But by ABC’s own admission (and as I'd pointed out), the administration didn’t “lose” anyone; they’d simply placed these kids with sponsors, usually a family member, who didn’t respond when the government tried to check up on the child..."

The federal investigation into Facebook’s data sharing with Cambridge Analytica has been expanded to look into the tech giant’s actions and statements as well as added three other agencies into the discussion.
People familiar with the official inquiries told the Chicago Tribune that the FBI, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Trade Commission have been included in the Justice Department’s questioning of the personal data of 71 million Americans shared between Facebook and Cambridge Analytica. The five people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Civil Unrest Is Here: Violence Erupts In American Streets As Progressive Leaders Urge Their Followers To "Rise Up" And Prepare For A "Summer Of Rage" | The Daily Sheeple
"On Friday, Michael Moore went on Bill Maher’s HBO show and suggested that the U.S. military would side with progressives in a civil war against Donald Trump.
You can watch Moore make these comments on YouTube right here.
The very next day, Antifa thugs violently clashed with pro-Trump conservatives that had gathered for a prayer rally on the streets of Portland, Oregon.
Flash-bang grenades were thrown by Antifa activists, the police confiscated “mace, clubs, gloves with reinforced knuckles, batons, knives and handgun clips”, and many were injured and had to be taken to the hospital.
The violence was so dramatic that some are actually calling this the first skirmish in America’s next civil war.
Last week, a shocking poll found that 31 percent of all Americans believe that there will be a civil war in America within the next five years and that 59 percent of Americans believe that Donald Trump’s opponents will resort to violence.
But after the events of this past weekend, we no longer have to wonder if civil unrest is coming to America.
Civil unrest is already here, and it is going to get much worse in the months ahead.
The next several months are being billed as a “summer of rage”...

I am a legal immigrant and proud to celebrate the Fourth of July in the greatest country on Earth | Fox News:
I came to America legally. I played by the rules.
It took me four years, and it was the most harrowing experience I’ve ever endured. I spent money I didn’t have. I suffered sleepless nights. At one point, I was even turned away at an airport because a political opponent in the Obama administration placed me in a situation where I was barred from traveling in the United States.
But I persisted – the most American virtue of all – and I prevailed.

30 Percent Of Indians Are Anemic - Switching From Rice (Or Bioengineering Better Stuff) Would Help | Science 2.0
"Starting in the 1960s, a Green Revolution in India led to a boom in rice and wheat production and that helped reduce hunger - but it meant demands on the water supply and pollution from fertilizer.
When Indians have embraced modern technology more recently, pollution from fertilizer has gone down, but rice takes a lot of water.
And "natural" rice is not great nutritionally.
Nutrient deficiencies are already widespread in India today--30 percent or more are anemic--and many regions are chronically water-stressed.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
By comparing yield, water use, and nutritional values such as calories, protein, iron, and zinc of six major grains currently grown in India (rice, wheat, maize, sorghum, and pearl and finger millet) researchers in a new analysis found that found that rice is the least water-efficient cereal when it comes to producing nutrients.
Replacing rice with maize, finger millet, pearl millet, or sorghum could reduce irrigation water demand by 33 percent, while improving production of iron by 27 percent and zinc by 13 percent..."

Maxine Waters' 'black women' supporters blast Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi in letter, demand apology - Washington Times:
The letter, a copy of which was posted by Politico, accused House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, both of whom are white, of racial insensitivity and expressed “our profound indignation and deep disappointment over your recent failure to protect Congresswoman Waters from unwarranted attacks from the Trump Administration and others in the GOP.”
In June, an angry Mrs. Waters called for all people to drive any Trump administration official from any public space, following on attacks on White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Homeland Security Secretary Kristjen Nielsen and White House adviser Stephen Miller.

State Business Handout Program Wastes Another $2 million [Mackinac Center]
"Another state subsidy deal fails to deliver--Posted by Michael D. LaFaive
The state’s Michigan Business Development Program, a creation of the Gov. Rick Snyder administration, was meant to replace the demonstrably failed Michigan Economic Growth Authority program and — presumably — have more success at creating jobs.
The Legislature should shut down the MBDP in its entirety, but short of that, cut the program’s annual budget at least by the amount of taxpayer dollars it loses to bad decisions.
One such bad choice involved RNFL Acquisition LLC, which was located in Marquette County in the Upper Peninsula.
This firm did business as “Michigan Renewable Carbon” and was a subsidiary of Biogenic Reagents. It was given $2 million in state subsidies through the MBDP and a “Renaissance Zone” designation, which exempted it from real and personal property taxes.
State officials did this for a firm that they knew was “in a pre-revenue stage” and that, without the subsidy, the “project could be at risk.”
The state subsidy deal required RNFL to create 27 new jobs and comply with “revenue participation” terms, which mandated it to pay back to the state 112 percent of the subsidy
...But it was not to be.
RNFL Acquisition laid off its employees in June 2016...
...The MEDC’s spokeswoman, Michelle Grinnell, said, via email, “We have not received any repayment, and at this point don’t expect that we will.
The asset sale was not sufficient to cover all of the creditors, including MSF.”
Despite this failure, the company deal still appeared on an MEDC webpage as late as June 7, 2018, under the heading “Pure Michigan’s Business Success Stories.”
In summary, state taxpayers ponied up $2 million in job creation subsidies that didn’t create any jobs."
