"BRUSSELS is blocking a multi-million super deal to merge a two of Europe’s biggest engineering firms in France and Germany despite claims the merger is the ONLY way to compete with massive state-backed Chinese mega-corps.
In a bizarre step, the EU’s competition commissioner Margarethe Vestager warned a deal between French and German rail giants Alstom and Siemens would not be done to compete with Beijing-backed firms because the bloc does not want to undermine other member states.

...It comes as the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium complained the merger would result in the “widespread” loss of competition..."

The EU-funded wall that nobody wants to talk about

The EU-funded wall that nobody wants to talk about
"This is not Donald Trump’s desired border wall between the USA and Mexico, nor is it Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán’s fence which stops the flow of migrants into Europe – this is a 764 kilometer wall between Turkey and Syria, funded by none other than the European Union.
Turkey wall 2
Turkey shares an 822 kilometer border with Syria, a country which has suffered bombardment from all angles since 2011, including several EU member states...
The physical layer includes modular concrete walls, patrol routes, manned and unmanned towers and passenger tracks.
While the EU and its loyal followers persistently preach that any form of borders are racist, many will be shocked to learn that the construction of this wall was largely funded by the 28-member state union..."

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Thousands of requests by men to bring in child and adolescent brides to live in the United States were approved over the past decade, according to government data obtained by The Associated Press.
In one case, a 49-year-old man applied for admission for a 15-year-old girl.
The approvals are legal: The Immigration and Nationality Act does not set minimum age requirements for the person making the request or for that person’s spouse or fiancee..."

Protestors Paris"PARIS police fired water cannon and tear gas to repel "yellow vest" demonstrators around the Arc de Triomphe monument on Saturday in the ninth straight weekend of protests against French President Emmanuel Macron's economic reforms – on the same day similar protests erupted in London.
...police saying this weekend's protests were larger than last Saturday's.
Central Paris was in lockdown against another feared eruption of violence by radical elements in the "gilets jaunes" (yellow vest) movement, with bridges across the Seine river closed and official buildings such as parliament and the Elysee presidential palace protected by police barriers..."

"...The highlight of the President’s Twitter feed occurred early this morning when he noted:
H1-B holders in the United States can re
st assured that changes are soon coming which will bring both simplicity and certainty to your stay, including a potential path to citizenship. We want to encourage talented and highly skilled people to pursue career options in the U.S.
The President is talking about a longstanding program which allows U.S. companies to sponsor foreigners with tech expertise to work here but has routinely prevented the supply of visas from reaching the level of demand.
...The President told the assembled media in the Rose Garden at the White House:
We need great people. But we want them to come in on a merit basis, and they have to come in on a merit basis. They can’t come in the way they’ve been coming in for years...

The Outrageous Assault on the Knights of Columbus

See the source imageThe Outrageous Assault on the Knights of Columbus
"...On December 5, (Kamala) Harris posed a series of written questions to Brian Buescher, President Trump's nominee for District Court in Nebraska.
The third question reads as follows:
"Since 1993, you have been a member of the Knights of Columbus, an all-male society comprised primarily of Catholic men.
In 2016, Carl Anderson, leader of the Knights of Columbus, described abortion as ‘a legal regime that has resulted in more than 40 million deaths.'
Mr. Anderson went on to say that ‘abortion is the killing of the innocent on a massive scale.'
See the source imageWere you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman's right to choose when you joined the organization?"
Harris wasn't finished...
Buescher, a Nebraska native and graduate of the Georgetown Law Center, replied that he joined the Knights when he was 18 years old; that his involvement includes charitable work; and that his job as a judge is to apply the law regardless of his personal convictions.
Strong answers.
That he had to offer them is a disgrace.
What Kamala Harris is suggesting is that membership in a 2 million-strong, 136-year-old Catholic social organization disqualifies an individual from the federal bench..."

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz stated Wednesday that using eminent domain to construct a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border is “absolutely” permitted under the Constitution.
“It’s clear eminent domain is a power that is protected in the Constitution, that is created in the Constitution, precisely for public purposes,” Cruz said to Spectrum News. “Securing the border is a legitimate area for eminent domain where landowners would get reasonable and just compensation.”

..."The President requests at least $563 million for 75 additional Immigration Judges and support staff to reduce the backlog of pending immigration cases."
The current backlog for asylum claims made at the border is 800,000 cases.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, asylum claims have increased by 2000 percent over the past five years and approximately 90 percent of them are thrown out in court.
President Trump has also requested additional funding for 750 new Border Patrol Agents and $571 million for 2,000 additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents to help "address gang violence, smuggling and trafficking, and the spread of drugs in our communities."
...While Democrats grandstand on the barrier, they're rejecting billions of dollars to fund a number of other essential border security operations..."
