My wife "hates politics", "hates the bickering", and wonders why I won't allow the News to be on during cocktails and why I spend time with my friends here.

Then last week she read about the NY Abortion Bill and mentioned it to me. I made sure she knew about the fundamental four or five HUGE changes in that bill, and then I explained to her what nobody has connected. Says me...well if anybody permitted by the State can perform a no questions asked abortion up to 24 weeks, and that same "nail salon tech with a state abortion certificate" can perform an abortion on a nine month baby if in THAT person's opinion the mother will be better off...and then since the abortionist no longer has a duty to provide medical attention to a live baby who survives the abortion and it can be left to die...and if we learned one thing from the news about Planned PArenthood about how much money can be made by selling tissues and cells from aborted fetuses...can you imaging the industry that NY can now have selling working fully functioning organs from full term babies which can be carved up and sold for parts.

She burst into tears. Literally.

A Belarusian model who originally said she had secret recordings that tied President Donald Trump to Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska and showed collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign now says she lied.
Anastasia Vashukevich, who goes by the alias Nastya Rybka on the internet, told CNN in a report published Tuesday that she made up the whole story as a means of getting out of a Thai prison last year.
Vashukevich was doing hard time in Thailand for offering her sex coach talents to the locals. Arrested and convicted for solicitation, she was sent to prison. Allegedly fearing for life behind bars, she decided to attract some international media attention with her story of having information that would link Trump to the Russian oligarchy.

COMMON SENSE: Last week, while Americans were obsessing about the government shutdown and the shenanigans of an opportunistic Native American to make a political statement, a major shift in Middle Eastern politics occurred. 

It almost went unnoticed by the media, despite the fact that it will change everything.

Saudi Arabia has begun to develop its own nuclear capability. 
They have done this because their intelligence has confirmed that Iran is close to having nuclear weapons, along with the capacity to deliver them. 
...The Saudis, who were reluctant to take this step, placed a great deal of faith in President Trump to keep the Iranians in check and to change the political dynamics in the Middle East, but they are no longer certain he can survive the relentless attacks from the pro-Iranian Democrats. 

Out of self-preservation, the Saudis have taken this bold step to level the playing field with their mortal enemy, Iran.

...Nevertheless, there is now a nuclear arms race in the Middle East that cannot be stopped by any other means than force, but the fools in the media are too consumed with "getting Trump" to inform Americans about this. 

Not many are even paying attention.

"I’ve been a U.S. senator for three weeks now, and I can tell you that reports of hate and incompetence in Washington are severely understated.
Things are actually much worse than they appear.
One year ago, I called on Congress to make a simple deal on immigration requiring both Republicans and Democrats to do two things — compromise and respect the wishes of the American people.
This deal is so logical and so easy, even politicians in Washington should be able to grasp it.
But, as the events of the past few weeks have shown, they cannot.
...The truth is, the vast majority of Republicans are ready to make this deal, and are ready to provide a route for the dreamers.
But Democratic leaders are not ready to make this or any deal.
Sure, the Democrats have voiced support and cast votes for border security in the form of physical barriers in the past, but they won’t do so now because of their hatred of the president of the United States.
Hate is bad that way; it clouds your judgment.
As former senator Alan Simpson said at the funeral for former president George H.W. Bush, “Hatred corrodes the container it’s carried in.” 
That’s the predicament that Democratic leaders find themselves in now.
They hate President Trump so much that they cannot behave in a rational manner..."
