Coronavirus could have New Jersey residents pumping their own gas
Image result for new jersey pump gas lawWOODLAND PARK, N.J. – Only during a global health emergency might New Jerseyans finally start handling a gasoline pump.
...In the past month, attendants across the state's 2,200 stations have quit in droves over fears of contracting the coronavirus from customers, forcing some businesses to close shop, according to an industry trade group.
... Gov. Murphy has remained mum on the issue, last remarking in late March that “we have no plans to turn our gas stations into self-service at this time.’’
...The gas station lobby, however, has proposed a solution, an executive order that relaxes the state law against self-service fueling, at least temporarily...

The economic data is even worse than Wall Street feared: 'The economy is clearly in ruins here'

"Consumer and manufacturing reports for March showed the hit to the economy from the coronavirus was deeper in the early weeks of the shutdown than expected.

  • March retail sales fell 8.7%, the most ever in government data, and New York regional manufacturing activity hit an all-time low, declining to a shocking negative 78.2%.

“The economy is clearly in ruins here,” said Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist at MUFG Union Bank.
...“Overall, today’s manufacturing numbers indicate an expected slowing in activity, but slightly earlier and more widespread than previously thought,” noted Citigroup economists. They said the depth of the decline in apparel manufacturing of 16.5% and furniture, down 10%, were surprising.
...Jon Hill, senior Treasury strategist at BMO, said the deeper decline in data raises concerns that the sharp recession will morph into a depression...

Canada’s Government-Run Health Care Buckles Under COVID-19

Canada’s Government-Run Health Care Buckles Under COVID-19
See the source image"In an editorial last week, the Los Angeles Times declared it conventional wisdom that COVID-19 proves Bernie Sanders was right about “Medicare for All,” because with universal health coverage, the government wouldn’t have to send emergency aid to “hospitals and state health programs.”
This assertion is completely false, however, and we know because billions in emergency aid from the federal government is precisely what’s happening in Canada.
Canada is experiencing a surge in serious COVID-19 cases, with eight new deaths per million April 8 compared to nine deaths per million in the much-larger U.S.
Total deaths in Canada were up to 435 per day.

  • Canadian society essentially is on lockdown, with schools and public events closed, police fining house parties, and provinces, including Quebec, closing all nonessential businesses.
  • ...like the U.S. and contrary to the Los Angeles Times, Canada’s federal government has committed to billions for cash-strapped health agencies and hospitals across the country, with intense pressure for more.
  • ...What gives Canada such urgency to keep the infection curve down is that, going on decades now, the single dominating feature of Canadian health care is shortages..."

Republicans in the House of Representatives are criticizing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s claim that President Donald Trump cutting funding to the World Health Organization (WHO) is “illegal.”
The Daily Caller spoke to over six House Republicans who all criticized Pelosi for her comments in regards to Trump halting funding for the WHO. Some even went on to call for WHO director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to resign, saying the best way for them to move forward is by getting rid of Tedros.

Hydroxychloroquine: A New Low for the Liberal Media - American Thinker
Image result for acosta Trump Press Conference"...The media know full well that scaring people away from using an effective medical treatment can cause fatal consequences.
That, apparently, is their intention because they aggressively perpetrate cynical scare tactics nonetheless.
Perhaps they despise Trump so much that they relish the prospect of more American coronavirus fatalities, just to damage the President.
The liberal Democrat media are playing politics, deadly politics, with a national emergency.
Severe criticism, yes, but still mild compared to the way the left groundlessly calls Donald Trump a mass murderer.
Recall how the lib-Dems regularly accuse their opponents of what they, themselves, are doing (e.g., collusion with Russia) -- and now they accuse Pres. Trump of wanting to kill people.
Logical analysis points in the opposite direction.
Politics is everything to the lib-Dems because big government is everything to them.
Their sordid, grisly conduct during the current phase of the coronavirus crisis seems to align with that maxim, and also confirms the worst suspicions about their nature.
It is past time to call them on it."

“If they took action six days earlier, there would have been much fewer patients and medical facilities would have been sufficient,” University of California, Los Angeles, epidemiologist Zuo-Feng Zhang told the AP. “We might have avoided the collapse of Wuhan’s medical system.”
Approximately 5 million people were allowed to leave Wuhan without being screened for coronavirus by the time the city was locked down on Jan. 23, according to Axios.

"...As a disproportionate amount of black people die of the Coronavirus across the nation (attributable to genetic differences and, more importantly, poor individual decisions concerning health collectively propelling the death rate higher for blacks), we are going to learn COVID-19 had to be racist.

Six years ago, Bloomberg News quashed an investigation into China's wealthy elites over fears that the Chinese government would retaliate. Then the outlet fired one of the reporters involved and even attempted to silence his wife, NPR reported.
According to audio recordings obtained by NPR, in October 2013, Bloomberg News founding editor in chief Matthew Winkler told a team of reporters who were working on an expos of the corrupt practices of China's ruling class that the story would be killed out of fear that Chinese officials would "shut us down and kick us out of the country."

"...Rice primarily accuses China of a coverup of the early outbreak of the virus, which cost the world time that could have been used to prepare.
It is "very hard to get answers from China," she said.
"The Chinese did what authoritarians do," she said.

It is just the nature of the system.
It is a real problem."
..."The Chinese and trying to create a counter-narrative... to shift the narrative from their initial responsibility for not fessing up to what was happening, to 'We got on top of it and this is how we helped the world.'
That's how they're going to shift the narrative. Don't let it happen."...

"Democrats in the House are proposing legislation that awards grants to cities that will release suspects who do not "pose a risk of serious, imminent injury to a reasonably identifiable person."--Fans of Best of the Web Today

Fans of Best of the Web Today--Michael Smith
"The COVID-19 Democrats in the House are proposing legislation that awards grants to cities that will release suspects who do not "pose a risk of serious, imminent injury to a reasonably identifiable person."
These are the same COVID-19 Democrats who are against your right to protect yourself with firearms.
These are the same COVID-19 Democrats who believe that law enforcement officers (even those of color) are racists.
These are the same COVID-19 Democrats who believe the justice system is based on structural racism.
I'm actually impressed at the total lack of specificity in this legislation.
  • What constitutes "serious"?
  • What constitutes "imminent"?
  • What constitutes an "injury"?
  • What does "reasonable" mean?
  • What does it take to be an "identifiable person"?
That last sentence is so vague it can mean anything or nothing.
Almost every word is so flexible, so arbitrary and capricious, it is totally dependent upon interpretation by someone or some entity.
It's like Justice Potter Stewart's infamous definition of obscenity - paraphrased as "I can't define obscenity but I know it when I see it."
The logic of COVID-19 Democrats is built on infecting the unsuspecting - just like the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

These are truly the Mussolini fascists - the "All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state" true believers who have internalized the idea that the government can protect them from all forms of ill and any resistance to the government is equal to the individual wishing ill to all.
