- 1684 - A patent was granted for the thimble.

- 1846 - The Mexican-American War ignited as a result of disputes over claims to Texas boundaries. The outcome of the war fixed Texas' southern boundary at the Rio Grande River.
- 1859 - Work began on the Suez Canal in Egypt.
- 1953 - Dr. James D. Watson and Dr. Francis H.C. Crick suggested the double helix structure of DNA.
- 1959 - St. Lawrence Seaway opened to shipping. The water way connects the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean.
- 1961 - Robert Noyce was granted a patent for the integrated circuit.
- 1962 - The U.S. spacecraft, Ranger, crashed on the Moon.
- 1967 - Colorado Governor John Love signed the first law legalizing abortion in the U.S. The law was limited to therapeutic abortions when agreed to, unanimously, by a panel of three physicians.
- 1980 - In Iran, a commando mission to rescue hostages was aborted after mechanical problems disabled three of the eight helicopters involved. During the evacuation, a helicopter and a transport plan collided and exploded. Eight U.S. servicemen were killed. The mission was aimed at freeing American hostages that had been taken at the U.S. embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979. The event took place April 24th Washington, DC, time.

"According to an exclusive National Review story, the U.S. Dept. of Education has announced grant funding is available for programs in U.S. history and civics classes that “incorporate racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse perspectives.”
- America’s public school students are the soon-to-be target of a grant program from the U.S. Dept of Education that plans to introduce children to the Marxism-inspired Critical Race Theory and the debunked 1619 Project, and a knowledgeable critic of both is asking parents when enough is enough.
What does that mean?

"The Burbank City Council has lost its collective mind, pursuing an obvious vendetta against Tinhorn Flats restaurant, a family-owned and operated business that has been part of the community for 50 years.
Back in December, the Lepejian family made the difficult decision to defy state and local closure orders and serve food on its back patio, while following all previously established outdoor dining protocols.
Since then, lawsuits have been flying.
...Lucas has since been arrested three times, twice for violating a court order and the third time for “altering efforts the city has implemented to prevent entry into the establishment, due to the unsafe conditions and to be compliant with the city’s safety codes.” 
That is, trying to remove the sandbags.
- Burbank police have been sauntering around the establishment for a couple of weeks, shouting at anyone who gets too close.
- The BPD even rolled out an entire squad of police to make sure nobody got in the way of the fence installation.
Given that the rest of the state is finally re-opening, the council is engaging in this absurd display for one reason: punishment for defiance.
Even nearby Ventura County, which also was bringing action against a handful of restaurants for defying local orders, has dropped all the cases.
The behavior of the council is not merely demonstrative of governmental overreach, but of the insidious side of handing power to a group of five citizens.
Remember, these politicians are nothing special.
They are just regular people without any particular expertise in anything.
Government should always act with prudence, yet the ferocity with which the council has assaulted this business is chilling.
So what’s going on and what is the future for the restaurant?
Is the entire council really this stupid and short-sighted?

On March 3rd the Editors at FrontPage received an email from Disqus, the networked community platform used by hundreds of thousands of sites all over the web. The statement reads:
It has come to our attention that your site is included in the Hate Groups listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center Hate Map:
As fostering Hate is a violation of the Disqus Terms of Service and Basic Rules, we can no longer support your site on the Disqus network. Disqus will be removed from your site on March 17th, to allow time for transition and a comment export. If you will need a manual export, please let us know before the removal date.
That was it.
As of today, Disqus is de-platforming us.
They have refused to respond to inquiries seeking further explanation.
