The general also noted that for some reason the summertime hypersonic failed to create a "sense of urgency." This laissez-faire attitude was reflected in White House press secretary Jen Psaki's statement following initial reports of the summer's surprise hypersonic tests. According to Psaki, the people in the Biden administration "welcome stiff competition." Hyten seems to have a slightly different take.

Wait what? FDA wants 55 years to process FOIA request over vaccine data | Reuters
"(Reuters) - Freedom of Information Act requests are rarely speedy, but when a group of scientists asked the federal government to share the data it relied upon in licensing Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, the response went beyond typical bureaucratic foot-dragging.
As in 55 years beyond.
That’s how long the Food & Drug Administration in court papers this week proposes it should be given to review and release the trove of vaccine-related documents responsive to the request.

What Happens if the Vice President Steps Down?

What Happens if the Vice President Steps Down?
"There has been a strange rumor that Vice-President Harris may resign.
...What happens when a Vice-President resigns—or dies or is impeached, or for that matter leaves office to become President—and in particular what happens when there's a 50-50 senate?
...Twenty-Fifth Amendment provides:
...[1.] If the Senators are tied, would Vice-President Harris be able to break the tie to approve her own replacement? No, I think...
...[2.] Can the President pro tempore of the Senate break the tie?...Read all.

Rittenhouse VERDICT WATCH: Has Jury Foreperson Gone Rogue And Holding Back Acquittal?
  • MY SUSPICION: JUROR #54, FOREPERSON, IS THE HOLDOUT AGAINST ACQUITTAL
"I have a growing suspicion that this jury has not yet arrived at a unanimous verdict of acquittal only because of the resistance of juror #54, a woman who also happens to be the foreperson, who seems to be the hold-out against acquittal.
The jury selection risk to Kyle was always going to be that a “mask Karen” type, usually of leftist political persuasion, bossy, entitled, and status-sensitive, would be seated on the jury.
Such a person would be most unlikely to ever vote for acquittal—her social group would necessarily know she had done so, given the unanimous nature of an acquittal.
In addition, this type of person is likely to seize the leadership position of foreperson on a jury, to suit their bossy and entitled nature...
Then we have the jury note from yesterday asking for access to the Exhibit #5 drone video footage and related evidence. It was written by juror #54, the jury foreperson, and an apparent woman:

The tone of that note suggests to me that the person who wrote it is accustomed to giving orders to underlings—personal assistants, staff, household help—and here the note is being addressed in this tone to the trial judge as if the judge were a staffer to the jury foreperson...Read all.

NY Times writer mocks 'inflation hysterics' and gets hit with brutal wave of backlash online - TheBlaze

A New York Times writer faced some brutal backlash after she mocked the "inflation hysterics" that she said were actually favoring the poor. Sarah Jeong, a member of the New York Times editorial board, tweeted on Wednesday that inflation was actually hurting rich people and not poor people as is regularly reported in the media.

Malign Foreign Influence: China's United Front :: Gatestone Institute
  • Newsweek did an extensive report that linked 600 groups operating in the US to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

  • [FBI Director Christopher] Wray used a phrase common among counter-intelligence professionals: "malign foreign influence." This phrase describes the covert efforts the FBI has seen in several cases where American politicians were influenced indirectly to adopt policies the Chinese regime desires, particularly in four areas: Hong Kong, Taiwan, human rights abuses against the Uighurs, and the Chinese government's role in the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • That is fascinating considering that just this month, the U.S. State Department announced it would stop using that phrase.

  • The irony here is that those "PRC nationals" the State Department wishes not to offend are exactly the kinds of people that are employed by or connected to [Chinese Communist] entities operating in the US.

  • "This is the second time Chairman Meeks [D-NY] has blocked taking action against the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party, an organization which literally exists for the purpose of undermining our democracy and engaging in political warfare. It baffles me why Chairman Meeks seems to oppose any measure holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable." — Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), National Review, September 13, 2021.

OSHA Suspends Vaccine Mandate Enforcement | National Review

OSHA Suspends Vaccine Mandate Enforcement | National Review

Last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit fully blocked Biden’s executive order requiring companies with over 100 workers to mandate vaccination for their employees after temporarily staying it on November 12. The court ordered that OSHA “take no steps to implement or enforce” the vaccine mandate “until further court order.”

By its mandate, the Biden administration is claiming that the federal government, through congressional legislation, has regulatory power to issue a medical mandate for the sake of public health and therefore general welfare.

Ted Cruz confronts DHS chief over 'Biden cages' for migrant kids - TheBlaze

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) grilled Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday with questions about migrant children being kept in what Cruz called "Biden cages" at the southern border. Mayorkas told the senator he "respectfully" disagreed with his use of the term "cages" to describe the pens where hundreds of migrant teenagers were held at overcrowded immigration detention facilities in Texas earlier this year. "Fine, you can disagree with it," Cruz said. "How many children have been in the Biden cages? I've been to the Biden cages, I've seen the Biden cages. How many children have you detained at the Donna [Texas] tent facility in the cages you built to hold kids? How many children have been in those cages?"

War??-----Putin Blames Belarus-Poland Border Tension on West

"Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday blamed Western countries for using the migrant crisis at the Belarusian-Polish border to create tension in the region.
Speaking at the meeting with country's diplomats, Putin said he felt sorry for children strained at the border and accused the West of failing to fulfil its commitments in humanitarian fields.
The European Union has accused Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko of luring the migrants to the border to use them as pawns to destabilize the 27-nation bloc in retaliation for its sanctions on his authoritarian regime.
Belarus denies orchestrating the crisis, which has seen migrants entering the country since summer and then trying to cross into Poland, Lithuania and Latvia."
