Last night on July 16, 2026, President Donald Trump mentioned Muskegon in his speech about election integrity. - Muskegon County Republican PartyLet’s take a moment and review the facts based on our conversations with the Muskegon Police Department and the Prosecutor’s office.
- During the election cycle of 2020, it was reported that an individual (female) had been detained with thousands of ballots.
- Prior to being detained, she had put an undisclosed number of absentee ballots in one of the ballot boxes and had more in her car. She also had in her possession a map of other ballot box locations to drop off more ballots.
- She was basically a “mule.”
- She admitted she was receiving gift cards in lieu of payment for what she dropped off.
- This was first investigated by the Muskegon Police Department, who then turned it over to the Prosecutor's office.
- The Prosecutor turned it over to the State Police, who then turned it over to the FBI.
- We have not received any further updates regarding this situation for close to 6 years, and there have been no prosecutions.
- Once it was turned over to the FBI, the situation and case seemed to have disappeared.
