A commercial flight in Europe became tense last month as a male passenger reportedly invoked Islam's strict Sharia law to avoid sitting next to a woman, then allegedly punched or slapped a female flight attendant in the face as she tried to calm the situation.

According to the German newspaper Bild, the passenger – identified only as a 29-year-old Turkish migrant living in Germany – was arrested when his June 1 flight touched down in Düsseldorf.
