'It's not American': Texas county takes stand against Sharia with unanimous vote * WorldNetDaily * by Emily Medeiros, The Daily Signal

'It's not American': Texas county takes stand against Sharia with unanimous vote * WorldNetDaily * by Emily Medeiros, The Daily Signal:

While introducing the resolution, Williams explained how Sharia is practiced in various Muslim-majority countries. "Sharia, as practiced by governments around the world, is more than a private devotion. It operates as a complete political and legal order," he said. "Where states enforce it, the record speaks for itself. In Iran, women have been beaten in jail for uncovering their hair. In Pakistan, blasphemy laws have sent people to prison and stirred mobs against them on a single person's accusation." Williams also discussed the treatment of women under some interpretations and applications of Sharia, saying a woman's testimony is worth half that of a man's, her inheritance is half that of her brothers, and her ability to work, marry or travel can depend on a male guardian.

'Out of their ever-loving minds?': Judge rules on leftist demand to be allowed to cast 2 ballots in midterms * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh:

A report at WisPolitics revealed the LWV had sued the Wisconsin Elections Commission demanding the court block enforcement of state rules that say "an elector who mails or personally delivers an absentee ballot to the municipal clerk is not permitted to vote in person at the same election on Election Day."

The League wanted voters who mailed their ballots to be allowed to vote on Election Day … just in case the mail service didn't deliver their ballots on time.

The judge in Dane County refused to suspend election rules for that.

  • Instead, Canada posted its worst monthly loss in seven months, and the unemployment rate climbed to 𝟔.𝟓 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭, up from 6.4 percent in August (Statistics Canada, The Daily, Oct. 9, 2026).
  • It's the second straight month of losses — August cost Canada roughly 42,000 jobs — and the damage is concentrated exactly where you'd expect from a government fighting its biggest trading partner instead of making a deal...

States need to take election security into their own hands | Blaze Media:

This is ultimately not merely an election-administration issue — it is a matter of sovereignty.

The proposition that only American citizens may vote in elections is a cornerstone of our republic. The citizenship requirement preserves self-government and ensures that those who decide our elections are members of the American political community. If these basic rules are treated as mere aspiration rather than an enforceable legal requirement, then American sovereignty is at risk.

Riots have taken over the entire nation of France.

Over just the past couple of weeks, what started as a French protest against allegedly underfunded schools was quickly taken over by demonic islamist rioters, as most entirely foreign born “migrants”, setting dozens of schools on fire, assaulting hundreds of teachers, doing as much damage as they possibly can. -John F. Di Leo
Why?
  • Because they like it.
  • Because they are barbarians.
  • Because it’s not their country, so why should they care how much damage they do to it?
See the summary of the situation here, from the New York Post yesterday. Pretty sure there’s no paywall so you can read it…

Jim Riley - Weird musing from me.

I'm not really a music person. - Jim Riley
I like some, love others but have no real knowledge or connection to most of the music world.
Toe-tapping, non-dancing, geezer vaguely remembering melodies from the past.
Lately I've been surfing Youtube for music that never made it big in the US.
Much of it from Europe.
  • I'd never heard of Scot Maggie Reilly or the song, Moonlight Shadow.
  • Give it a listen at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvQ6dasK614&t=1s
  • What caught my ear was the melody and the power and range of Maggie's voice and the sheer beauty of the song..
So, I continued my quest for other missed gems.
If you've any other "finds", I'd love to hear them.
Add a link to this thread or post 'em someplace I might find them.
Thanks!

On October 8, 2026, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for a coordinated EU strategy to counter Islamist entryism and the influence of Muslim Brotherhood-linked networks.

The resolution passed with 381 votes in favor, 167 against and 15 abstentions.  - Geo All Day
Most national delegations of MEPs supported the proposal, while Spain and Finland stood out as the only countries where a majority voted against it...
The resolution focuses on what lawmakers describe as
Islamist entryism,
  • referring to attempts by Islamist networks to gain influence within political institutions, civil society organizations and other established structures....

Face it. We are not the same!

El-Sayed basically confirms Jewish voters' worst fears about him during chippy debate | Blaze Media:

Throughout the debate, Rogers used his time to remind listeners about El-Sayed's troubling ties to Islamic terrorist groups. For instance, though she was never charged with any crime, El-Sayed's birth mother long worked for a group that was later designated a specially designated global terrorist organization and that may also have helped fund al-Qaeda.

Florida Medicaid fraud crackdown cuts ABA therapy spending by $1B | Fox News:

The DeSantis administration said its approach aims to stop suspicious Medicaid claims before taxpayer dollars are paid out rather than trying to recover improper payments afterward. The strategy mirrors a call from HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to move away from traditional "pay-and-chase" models.
