Walker, Grandville police announce plan to pay students $50 to report underage drinking
"To help root out underage drinking, the Walker and Grandville police departments are teaming up with the Walker-Grandville Area Action Coalition, a partnership of about 15 churches, schools and community groups to discourage teens from downing booze and challenge the perception that drinking is cool.
The coalition announced its campaign Wednesday afternoon at Kenowa Hills High School, saying it will urge students to report instances of underage drinking to Silent Observer at 774-2345 or (866) 774-2345 or silentobserver.org.
Students whose tips are true will earn $50."
