- According to the City of Muskegon, each trash compactor can hold up to 50 gallons of waste and are solar powered, and most importantly, keeps the trash compacted and inside the unit.
- The city says, the trash compactors aren’t cheap, and cost twice that of an ordinary trash receptacle, however city officials say they can make that money back by not having to pay for cleanup crews who routinely pick up the trash off of the beach.
