- Auditors found the heaviest concentrations of bad payments in New York, California, and Washington, D.C. — but payments to dead tenants turned up in all 50 states.
- Nearly 𝟑𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 had rental assistance money sent out under their names.

“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘺. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘢 𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭.”...
