To hear the Enemedia talk, Europe is Greenland's savior and all involved are having a love fest. Think again.

Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen just confirmed that he has no intention of reversing the island’s 1985 decision to leave the then-European Community. - Rod D. Martin

Following a two-day visit to Greenland by the European Commission president, Nielsen said membership is “not currently on the table.”
Why it matters: 

As I reported in depth last week, Danish human rights atrocities in Greenland are far worse than anyone thought (and that's coming from Danish reports!). 

Greenland has long wanted independence but can't afford it.

And like Iceland, it does NOT see Brussels as its savior.

• The logical solution to all of this is a Compact of Free Association between an independent Greenland and the United States, similar to those with Palau, the Marshall Islands, and Micronesia. 

But Greenland can't afford to rock the boat just now, being dependent on the essential though minuscule Danish subsidy.
