Why clerks are encouraging absentee ballots for November's election

Why clerks are encouraging absentee ballots for November's election | MLive.com
GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Officially, your local government clerk doesn't want you to lie.
But if taking out an absentee voter ballot gets you to participate in this fall's presidential election – without compounding the crowds expected at polling places – they're not going to ask if you're telling the truth about why you want one.
...Don't want to vote in a church building because it violates your religious faith, or lack of faith?
Get an absentee ballot.
Can't come to the polls because you'll be busy praying that day?
Get an absentee ballot.
"If people even think they're going to be absent from their community, we do encourage people to (apply for an absentee ballot)," said Justin Roebuck, Ottawa County clerk. "(The legal criteria) doesn't say 'I will be absent.' It says 'I expect to be absent.'
We'd rather that person vote than forget once they're gone."
...A federal judge last month granted a request for a preliminary injunction to block enforcement of the straight-ticket voting ban, and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette now is seeking a stay of that injunction.

Houston schools spend $1.2 million to ditch Confederate building names; parents sue

Houston schools spend $1.2 million to ditch Confederate building names; parents sue - The College Fix:
"Parents are irate that the Houston Independent School District will spend over one million dollars for the costs associated with the renaming of eight schools — so irate, in fact, that they’re suing.
Superintendent Ken Huewitt asked the school board to approve the $1,245,197 on Thursday, and had said on Monday that this agenda item was in response to the lawsuit.
As the Houston Chronicle reports, the lawsuit suit claims that, at a past board meeting, the costs for renaming were initiall
y listed as “none.”
Then, in May, the costs were listed as coming from the “general fund – fund balance.”
Some of name changes include:

— Dowling Middle School to Audrey H. Lawson Middle School. Richard Dowling was a Confederate army officer; Lawson “was a community activist and founding first lady of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church” who started two charter schools.

— Jackson Middle School to the Yolanda Black Navarro Middle School of Excellence. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson was a Confederate general; Navarro was a “committed civic leader [who] served Houston well by serving on the METRO Board and the Houston Parks Board” and founder of the Association for the Advancement of Mexican-Americans.

— Lee (formerly Robert E. Lee) High School to Margaret Long Wisdom High School. General Robert E. Lee was commander of the Confederate army; Wisdom taught in the Houston schools for 38 years and was once president of the Congress of Houston Teachers."

Did Clinton Perjure Herself Before Congress? House Judiciary, Oversight Chairmen Think So | TheBlaze.com:

"Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s congressional hearing is “incompatible” with that of the FBI’s findings, top House Republicans disclosed in a letter to a U.S. attorney Monday.

Reps. Hugo Chavez’s economic miracle - Salon.com
"The Venezuelan leader was often marginalized as a radical.
But his brand of socialism achieved real economic gains
Image result for Hugo Chavez’s economic miracle...“Venezuela is recognized by many scholars to be more democratic than it was in the pre-Chávez era”).
...No, Chavez became the bugaboo of American politics because his full-throated advocacy of socialism and redistributionism at once represented a fundamental critique of neoliberal economics, and also delivered some indisputably positive results.
Indeed, as shown by some of the most significant indicators, Chavez racked up an economic record that a legacy-obsessed American president could only dream of achieving.
For instance, according to data compiled by the UK Guardian, Chavez’s first decade in office saw Venezuelan GDP more than double and both infant mortality and unemployment almost halved.
Then there is a remarkable graph from the World Bank that shows that under Chavez’s brand of socialism, poverty in Venezuela plummeted (the Guardian reports that its “extreme poverty” rate fell from 23.4 percent in 1999 to 8.5 percent just a decade later).
In all, that left the country with the third lowest poverty rate in Latin America.
Additionally, as Weisbrot points out, “college enrollment has more than doubled, millions of people have access to health care for the first time and the number of people eligible for public pensions has quadrupled.”
When a country goes socialist and it craters, it is laughed off as a harmless and forgettable cautionary tale about the perils of command economics.
When, by contrast, a country goes socialist and its economy does what Venezuela’s did, it is not perceived to be a laughing matter – and it is not so easy to write off or to ignore.
It suddenly looks like a threat to the corporate capitalism, especially when said country has valuable oil resources that global powerhouses like the United States rely on..."

What Trump Did To Blacks And Jews 30 Years Ago Just Surfaced... This Could Change The Whole Election

What Trump Did To Blacks And Jews 30 Years Ago Just Surfaced... This Could Change The Whole Election - World Politicus:
"Donald Trump as well as his fellow Republicans have been often accused of having no tolerance for the Blacks nor the Jews- basically they were racists.
...VIA Western Journalism
In 1997, Trump defied societal conventions when he purchased his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida and converted it into a private club.
Prior to Trump’s arrival, other clubs in the Pam Beach area “had long barred Jews and African Americans — which is to say they practiced a quiet but steely racism,” wrote Jeffrey Lord on The American Spectator.
“He put the light on Palm Beach,” said Abe Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League. “Not on the beauty and the glitter, but on its seamier side of discrimination. It has an impact.”
Trump went further, asking the town council to lift the existing restrictions on the club, and sending them a copy of, “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner,” a film whose characters defy the race-based discrimination of the day.
The town council would not budge, leading Trump to file a $100 million lawsuit alleging the town was “discriminating against Mar-a-Lago, in part because it is open to Jews and African Americans,” reported The American Spectator.
The incident was profiled in a 1997 Wall Street Journal piece that discussed Trump’s clash with Palm Beach.
Eventually, Palm Beach put an end to their discriminatory restrictions.
“In other words, long before he was running for president, there was Donald Trump battling racism and anti-Semitism in Palm Beach society.
Using every tool at his disposal,” wrote Lord.
He continued, “In today’s world the Left demands racial quotas and supports illegal immigration. What all of these things have in common is that they are designed to divide Americans by race, to divide by skin color.”
Lord said Trump’s actions show the falsehood in the accusations of racism leveled against him.
The good news here that in Donald Trump someone — finally — is standing up to fight back. Just as he fought back all those years ago in Palm Beach when no one was looking.”"

FED UP Germans Put Obama to Shame, Make Devastating Move Against 45,000 Radical Muslims

FED UP Germans Put Obama to Shame, Make Devastating Move Against 45,000 Radical Muslims:

"The world has a perfect example of what happens when you let in waves of improperly vetted, or in some cases probably not vetted at all, refugees.

Germany is finally waking up and doing something about it, but what do Obama and Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton want to do? Bring in more unvetted refugees.

Common sense would have told anyone that this is a bad idea, yet when you have a clear example, it’s downright criminal. Clinton cannot be allowed anywhere near the White House to extend the failure that is the Obama administration."

VW locking is a doddle to break

VW locking is a doddle to break – TechEye:
"Hitler’s favourite car company, VW, is in hot water over its electronic key which has a security vulnerably which makes it easy for hackers to open the car doors.
According to Wired,  security researchers found they can  use software defined radio (SDR) to remotely unlock hundreds of millions of cars.
vw...The UoB also found another security hole which affects Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, and Peugeot.
It exploits a much older cryptographic scheme used in key fobs called HiTag2.
The hacker has to do some electronic eavesdropping to capture a series of codes sent out by a remote key fob.
Once a few codes had been gathered, the encryption scheme can be encyrpted in under a minute.
When the attacks might appear a bit convoluted, it is thought that they are behind a rash of car thefts, including a few in the US as hackers exploit the power of 1990s-era automotive-grade encryption with cheap hacking gear."

FBI Director Just CONFIRMED Obama’s Lie To The Entire Country…Enough is Enough! | The Proud Conservative:

Barack Obama and his loyal supporters want you to believe that our hands are totally tied if someone on the terrorist watch list or the no-fly list walks into a gun store and wants to buy a gun. They want you to believe there is nothing that can be done to stop the transaction, but FBI Director James Comey just exposed Obama’s lie for the entire nation to see."

According to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, the NFL denied the team's request for permission to include a decal reading "Arm In Arm" on their lids for the upcoming season.
That decal, which the team has been wearing on its helmets during training camp, is in support of Dallas Police and the officers killed in July's sniper attack..."

The 'Racist' Milwaukee Officer Who Shot Sylville Smith? Yeah, He's Black... » Louder With Crowder
"The latest in Black Lives Matter outrage surrounds the shooting of a black criminal named Sylville Smith.
Except now that the facts have been released, there’s one smidgen of information that BLM overlooked.
The cop who shot Sylville Smith?
He’s black himself…
Barrett said officers were in the area Saturday afternoon around 4:00 a.m. “to preserve the safety of the neighborhood” when the officer-involved shooting occurred following the traffic stop.
A pair of police officers stopped two people driving through the north-side neighborhood… That led to a foot chase between the people in the car and the police, which ended when an officer shot one of the two — a 23-year-old man who was armed with a handgun.
Chief Flynn said this Sunday afternoon that officer is African-American. That officer is not being identified, as Flynn said there are concerns for his safety.

They’re important.
It’s silly that we even have to point out skin color to validate the life-saving actions of police. Earlier Sheriff Clarke mentioned that culture is to blame for the events that lead up to Milwaukee’s current crapstorm.
Not cops.
For the record, he’s right.
He’s also black.
Anti-copness has enabled dangerous criminals to continue on being dangerous criminals. For reference, see the aforementioned rioting and looting in Milwaukee. Or Ferguson. Or Baltimore. Or any “peaceful” BLM protest. Speaking of “peaceful,” here’s how self-proclaimed peace seeking activists responded.
Racists are coming out of the woodwork to defend the killing of. The same idiots who cry over dead pigs.
mayor tom barrett is doing fop propaganda, "gun in hand" doesn't mean he pointed the gun at police. .
Coons like @SheriffClarke are danger to Black folks because they provide cover to white supremacists to accost us.

Sister of man shot by Milwaukee police calls for agitators to 'burn down' suburbs

Sister of man shot by Milwaukee police calls for agitators to 'burn down' suburbs - The American MirrorThe American Mirror
"Some of the Milwaukee race agitators are realizing it may be counterproductive to burn down their own neighborhoods.
That’s why the sister of the armed man killed by police on Saturday is telling them to take out their rage on the suburbs.
During a press conference Sunday night — before more clashes with police — Sylville Smith’s sister Sherelle challenged the agitators not to burn down their own community — but instead, someone else’s.Thumbnail
“Burning down sh*t ain’t gonna help nothin’,” Sherelle said.
“You’re burnin’ down sh*t we need in our community.
“Take that sh*t to the suburbs. Burn that sh*t down! We need our sh*t! We need our weave! I don’t wear it, but we need it!”
“We keep focusing on the police and I’ve said publicly before,” Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke said on Sunday. “Stop trying to the police, fix the ghetto.”

Cube Guide to Going Back to College

Cube Guide to Going Back to College:

"Comrades,
It's that wonderful time of year when young people get back to college to be indoctrinated educated!
I thought this might be a good time to compile a People's Cube Guide to College for both freshmenpersons and those upperclassmenpersons, (oh wait, sorry for the microaggression because there are no upper or lower classes in the Glorious World of Next Tuesday™) who might have forgotten and need to be reeducated...
1. Essays/Papers.
The People's Cube is a good source to get the korrekt perspective for all essays.
Essays that in any way deal with political philosophy should reflect the ideals of the Party™ to which most of your professors belong.
The 0.000000000001% who don't will never be given tenure and will be sent to a reeducation camp or a gulag (but then, what difference at this point does it make?™) anyway.
So, the best bet is for all papers is to reflect the Current Truth™ as described here..."

Voting Machines Can Be Easily Compromised, Symantec Demonstrates

Voting Machines Can Be Easily Compromised, Symantec Demonstrates - Slashdot:
"An anonymous Slashdot reader quotes a report from CBS News:
For the hackers at Symantec Security Response, Election Day results could be manipulated by an affordable device you can find online. "I can insert it, and then it resets the card, and now I'm able to vote again," said Brian Varner, a principle researcher at Symantec, demonstrating the device...

Symantec Security Response director Kevin Haley said elections can also be hacked by breaking into the machines after the votes are collected.
"The results go from that machine into a piece of electronics that takes it to the central counting place," Haley said.
"That data is not encrypted and that's vulnerable for manipulation."
40 states are using a voting technology that's at least 10 years old, according to the article.
And while one of America's national election official argues that "there are paper trails everywhere," CBS reports that only 60% of states conduct routine audits of their paper trails, while "not all states even have paper records, like in some parts of swing states Virginia and Pennsylvania, which experts say could be devastating.""

State Department: Hillary’s ethics pledge did not apply to her top aides

State Department: Hillary’s ethics pledge did not apply to her top aides « Hot Air
"A State Department spokesperson clarified Thursday that Hillary Clinton’s 2009 ethics pledge—to avoid conflicts of interest with the Clinton Foundation—did not extend to Clinton’s top aides at the Department.
Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau was asked about recently revealed emails that showed top members of Hillary Clinton’s staff doing favors for Clinton Foundation associates. “I’m not going to speak to specific emails, but I think you guys know State Department officials are regularly in touch with a wide variety of outside individuals and organizations including businesses, nonprofits, NGOs, think tanks,” Trudeau replied.
“You don’t feel like there was impropriety in the relationship between the Clinton Foundation and the State Department at the time?” the reporter asked. But Trudeau simply repeated her statement about the Department talking to a wide range of people.
At this point another reporter interjected, “Importantly, in this case, Secretary Clinton made a pledge that she would not personally or substantially, in any way, involve herself with the Clinton Foundation.” He continued, “So it’s not just any outside organization, it’s the specific organization that she said ahead of time she wouldn’t have contact with.” “Doesn’t this then seem to violate that pledge?” he asked.
“I’m sorry, am I not speaking English?” Lee snapped. “Is it coming across as a foreign…I’m not asking you if…no one is saying it’s not okay, or bad, for the department to get a broad variety of input from different people. The question is whether or not you’ve determined that there was nothing improper here.”
Here’s video of the exchange:

E-2C Hawkeye Nearly Crashes Into Sea After Arresting Cable Snaps – U.S ARMY FOR LIFE:
E-2C HAWKEYE NEARLY CRASHES INTO SEA AFTER ARRESTING CABLE SNAPS

Navy Pilots assigned to the Screwtops of Airborne Early Warning (VAW) 123 are awarded the Armed Forces’ Air Medal aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) for saving their aircraft from crash during a landing accident.
On 19 March 2016, and E-2C assigned to VAW-123 attempted an arrested landing onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).
The mishap aircraft successfully engaged the number 4 wire, but the #4 arresting gear engine failed to effectively decelerate the aircraft as it continued through the landing area.
As the aircraft approached the angled deck, the cress deck pendant parted, and the forward momentum of the aircraft carried it over the end of the angled deck.
The mishap aircrew recovered the aircraft and safely returned to port.
