‘America Is Fed Up’: GOP Schedules Votes on Major IRS Reforms Next Week | TheBlaze.com:

"For example, the Justice Department just said it won’t prosecute Lerner for her decision not to testify before Congress about her actions in the targeting scandal.

GOP leaders say the IRS needs real reform, and quickly, to ensure it doesn’t become a political weapon for whichever party runs the executive branch.

“The IRS has maliciously targeted individuals and groups simply because of their personal beliefs,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told his colleagues on Thursday. “The current system is unfair and America is fed up.”

Fact Checkers Aren’t Going to Like What Ted Cruz Had to Say About Them | TheBlaze.com

Fact Checkers Aren’t Going to Like What Ted Cruz Had to Say About Them | TheBlaze.com:

"Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday accused left-leaning reporters and editors of practicing a new brand of “yellow journalism” in the form of fact check articles, which he said purport to catch politicians stretching the truth, but instead tend to advance the Democratic agenda.

Cruz, who is running for president in 2016, sat down with CNBC for an interview, and was asked about his joke that the U.S. should send 125,000 IRS agents to the border. CNBC reporter John Harwood host pointed out that there are only 25,000 IRS agents, and the rest are just IRS workers."

*UPDATE* “The Passenger” – The Walter Scott Vehicle Is A Curious Concern To Scott Scheme Team Narrative

*UPDATE* “The Passenger” – The Walter Scott Vehicle Is A Curious Concern To Scott Scheme Team Narrative – Updated With Incident Reports From Responding Officers (Sans Slager)…. | The Last Refuge:
"...Against the backdrop that Walter Scott fled after giving up his Driver’s License, thereby easily identifying his personage, an obvious issue is: what was more risky to him than staying in an innocuous traffic stop and being processed/cited?
Something not passing the sniff test.
The family (Ryan Julison – spokesman) narrative to explain the motive for fleeing is to claim warrants for outstanding unpaid child support.
However, as the Associated Press reports, there was no outstanding warrant to fill that meme.
[…] Court records show that Walter L. Scott was almost $7,500 behind in child support at the time he was shot and killed by a police officer, but no bench warrant had been issued for him. (link)
So Ryan Julison wants to sell a motive that doesn’t exist.
Curiousor and curiousor.
Walter Scott claims in the Dash-Cam video that he just purchased the vehicle on Friday and was going to get the “paperwork” processed on Monday.
However, according to the Daily Mail, and quoting his co-worker, he put new wheels on it the week prior.
So he didn’t just purchase it….
Further Julison narrative expansion has Walter Scott buying it from a neighbor.
Yet with 24/7 coverage and a fleet of reporters, no-one appears interested to locate this “neighbor”…. for the “personal impact” angle…..
According to the Daily Mail Scott was on the phone with his Mother during the entire police stop. Yet the family doesn’t know who the passenger was?..."

Airline Pilots Manually Fly Airplanes For 3.5-7 Minutes Per Flight

FuturePundit: Airline Pilots Manually Fly Airplanes For 3.5-7 Minutes Per Flight:
"...Already pilots spend very little time controlling an airplane manually.
Boeing pilots work twice as hard as Airbus pilots.
Does that make the Airbus pilots lazy?
Or the Boeing pilots overworked?
In a recent survey of airline pilots, those operating Boeing 777s reported that they spent just seven minutes manually piloting their planes in a typical flight.
Pilots operating Airbus planes spent half that time..."

Global warming didn't give Malia asthma

Global warming didn't give Malia asthma: Column
President Obama blames global warming for his daughter's asthma.
Today that's politically useful spin, but the science says something different.
If you're looking for a culprit, it just might be Malia's dad.
... In a discussion Tuesday, he said "all of our families are going to be vulnerable" to global warming-induced health risks because "you can't cordon yourself off from air or from climate."
...the EPA also reports that our air quality has substantially improved; aggregate emissions of common pollutants have decreased 62% between 1980 and 2013.
...Which brings us back to her father and his Marlboros.
..According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "tobacco smoke is one of the most common asthma triggers," and "if you have asthma, it's important that you avoid exposure to secondhand smoke."
No father wants to feel that his habits might hurt his children.
But sometimes you have to look in the mirror to find the guilty party, not search the stratosphere for a hidden culprit.

BREAKING: Here's the Sickening Amount Michelle Obama Just Spent on Her Luxury Hotel:

"First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to Cambodia on March 20 to promote a girls education initiative there. The trip required 85 single rooms, five office suites, five sleeping suites and a conference room for 14 nights at the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra, a five-star luxury hotel.

This two-day trip cost American taxpayers $242,500 — all so Mrs. Obama could speak for a total of 33 minutes."

‘The Math Is Scary’: Mike Rowe’s Unsettling Prediction on What Will Happen If Work Remains the ‘Enemy’

‘The Math Is Scary’: Mike Rowe’s Unsettling Prediction on What Will Happen If Work Remains the ‘Enemy’ | Video | TheBlaze.com:
"Rowe, of “Dirty Jobs” fame, also said one of the biggest problems in pop culture is the tendency to make work the “enemy,” which he said is a very dangerous concept.
And though the solution to the terrifying problem is complicated, he argued putting an end to the myth that people should work as little as possible would be a big step in the right direction.
“If the key to happiness is working less, we’re in trouble,” Rowe added.
“It’s that simple.
Work can’t be the enemy, unless it is, and if you make it the enemy — look out.”"

Top 20% of Earners Pay 84% of Income Tax

Top 20% of Earners Pay 84% of Income Tax - WSJ
And the bottom 20%?
They get paid by Uncle Sam.
We compare tax burdens as Tax Day approaches.
Who pays what in income taxes?
With April 15 just around the corner, filers may be curious about where they fit into the system as a whole.
...Meanwhile, these two tables offer a snapshot of who is paying what for the 2014 tax year.
The tables show just how progressive the income tax is.
The three million people in the top 1% of earners pay nearly half the income tax.
Why is the share of income taxes negative for 40% of Americans?
In recent decades Congress has chosen to funnel important benefits for lower-income earners through the income tax rather than other channels.
Some of these benefits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and the American Opportunity Credit for education, make cash payments to people who don’t owe income tax...

Democrats buying geezer votes. On the backs of the children-----How progressives are pandering to the elderly

How progressives are pandering to the elderly - The Washington Post:
"As the 2016 campaign approaches, the hot idea in Democratic Party circles is to increase Social Security benefits.
Last month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) staged a vote on a “sustainable expansion” resolution in the Senate, garnering 42 “yeas” and laying down a new orthodoxy from which only two members of her party’s caucus deviated.
Meanwhile, in Iowa, potential presidential contender Martin O’Malley, former governor of Maryland, came out in favor of higher benefits, putting pressure on front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton to follow suit.
Progressives are patting themselves on the back for shifting the terms of a fiscal policy debate that has allegedly been unduly tilted in favor of deficit “hawks.”"

Bachmann: Obama's foreign policy 'virtually guarantees' World War III | TheHill:

"Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) on Wednesday said President Obama’s friendly overtures toward Cuba and Iran could eventually spark a global war.

“This virtually guarantees, in my opinion, World War III, and I think that alone would qualify Barack Obama for being the worst president that the United States has ever had to endure,” she said in an interview with "NewsTalk Florida."

“You can get economics wrong, and you can turn it around,” Bachmann added. “Where we have problems decades into the future are disasters with foreign policy.”

If you like your internet bill, you can keep your internet bill...... NOT!!---FCC's net neutrality rules open door to new fee on Internet service

FCC's net neutrality rules open door to new fee on Internet service - LA Times: "
Recently adopted net neutrality regulations soon could make your monthly Internet bill more complicated — and potentially more expensive.
Every month, consumers pay a small fee on their phone bills for a federal program that uses the money — a total of $8.8 billion raised nationwide last year — to provide affordable access to telecommunications services in rural areas, underserved inner cities and schools.
Now the fee could start appearing on broadband bills too, in a major expansion of the nearly two-decade-old Universal Service Fund program.
..."The federal government is sure to tap this new revenue stream soon to spend more of consumers' hard-earned dollars," warned Ajit Pai, a Republican on the FCC.
"So when it comes to broadband, read my lips: More new taxes are coming. It's just a matter of when."

Google has indexed thousands of backup drives
Each day millions of people across the globe create backups of their files. These backups are supposed to offer a measure of assurance that their files are safe, but that's not entirely true.
In fact, depending on how you've configured the device, your backups are freely available online to anyone who knows what they're looking for.
The following slides contain a few examples of the sensitive information people have stored on a backup drive that was later indexed by Google.
Unfortunately, most don't realize their data is available to the public, potentially offering themselves up as victims of identity theft or similar fraud.
Google isn't to blame either, as all of the backup files archived by the search giant are on networks or devices that were configured to act as public archives of data. But again, most people don't know this is happening.

8 Unbelievable College Application Stories

8 Unbelievable College Application Stories - ODDEE:
"1 The man who faked his race to get into medical school
Sitcom actress Mindy Kaling's big brother, Vijay Chokal-Ingam, is claiming that he hatched a twisted scheme in the late 1990s by posing as a black man to get into medical school.
...says that in 1998, he realized he didn't have a good enough GPA or MCAT score to get into medical school.
His GPA was 3.1, and his MCAT score was 31, which ranks in the 80-85 percentile for the test.
"So, I shaved my head, trimmed my long Indian eyelashes, and applied to medical school as a black man."
He apparently even joined the Organization of Black Students and went by his "embarrassing middle name," he says.
"Vijay the Indian-American frat boy become Jojo the African American Affirmative Action applicant to medical school."
Before long, Chokal-Ingam says he was interviewing at Harvard and Columbia, and found himself on wait lists at the University of Pennsylvania, Washington University and Mt. Sinai – despite his relatively mediocre 3.1 GPA and his family's considerable wealth.
A Saint Louis University spokeswoman disputed the account, saying that race never played a role in Chokal-Ingam's admission...
Chokal-Ingam wound up dropping out of St. Louis University Medical School two years after he got in under false pretenses..."The man who faked his race to get into medical school

When's our government gonna step in and fix this costly behaviour?!!----Obesity in middle age increases risk of dementia

Obesity in middle age increases risk of dementia | Science | The Guardian:
"People who are obese in middle age are at almost four times greater risk of developing dementias such as Alzheimer's disease in later life than people of normal weight, according to a study released today.
...But for obese people, classified as those having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above, the risk soared.
People with midlife obesity had an almost four times (300%) higher risk of dementia.
"Currently, 1.6 billion adults are overweight or obese worldwide and over 50% of adults in the US and Europe fit into this category," said Weili Xu of the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, who led the research.
"Our results contribute to the growing evidence that controlling body weight or losing weight in middle age could reduce your risk of dementia.""

What could possibly go wrong?-----Arab-American Civil Rights Course at U-M Dearborn Will Be First in Nation

Arab-American Civil Rights Course at U-M Dearborn Will Be First in Nation –  Deadline Detroit: "Beginning this fall, attorney Fatina Abdrabboh, director of the the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), will teach a course at the University of Michigan-Dearborn titled Arab-American Civil Rights.
It's the first of its kind nationally, Samer Hijazi of the Arab American News reports.
Abdrabboh will incorporate lessons from her work as a civil rights leader to help students understand about local, regional, and national civil rights and the evolution of the role of Arab Americans in U.S. in the last century.
“With the rich culture of Dearborn, which is home to a large population of Arabs outside of the Arab world, this course will not only offer insight into the state of civil rights but also empower students by providing them with exposure to the forces that drive anti-Arab and anti-Muslim racism in this country,” Abdrabboh tells the paper.  "

"Business" as usual with democrat government----Santa Fe Can’t Account for $30 Million

Santa Fe Can’t Account for $30 Million:
"SANTA FE, N.M. — A $30.3 million park improvement bond approved by voters in 2008 was spent with so little oversight that Bette Booth, chairwoman of the Parks and Open Spaces Advisory Commission, called the city’s bond account “a slush fund” at a meeting of the city’s audit committee April 1.
City finance director Oscar Rodriguez told the committee “the expense account was a temporary account where they would charge things and sort them out later.”
REDW, the Albuquerque accounting firm hired to examine the project, couldn’t perform a complete audit because of how poorly the records were kept.
“We really have no idea if there was fraud or embezzlement,” Booth said in an interview after the meeting.
“We don’t know how many millions of feet of pipe came in and where it went.
My feeling is a lot of stuff walked away, especially now that we know there were absolutely no controls.”
“We didn’t find any evidence that money was stolen or just spent on random non-park things,” REDW principal Steve Cogan told the audit committee.
There’s no clear proof that money wasn’t stolen either, due to the sloppy records.
“It appears we broke a lot of rules and regulations but didn’t break any laws — but we don’t know,” Rodriguez acknowledged."

College wimp administrator sees the evil on campus! These monsters!!!-----Frat suspended for making pledges act as designated drivers, dye their chests

Frat suspended for making pledges act as designated drivers, dye their chests
The University of Louisville has come up with a novel rationale for suspending its Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter, WAVE 3 News reports:
Photos on the chapter’s website and Facebook page show TKE pledges and/or actives shirtless, their torsos dyed Cardinal Red, bearing the fraternity’s Greek letters.
They appear to be cheering at a pep rally or a ball game.
They also were required to serve as ‘designated drivers’ if the brothers were drinking, and to carry red binders—essentially a pledge manual,” [Dean of Students Michael] Mardis said.
But the Code of Conduct may forbid such rites of passage.
It defines hazing as actions that could “recklessly or intentionally endanger physical or mental health,” or anything that involves “dangerous, demeaning, or ridiculing activities.”
“There was this environment, this expectation that you’re required to do these things,” Mardis said. “And if you don’t do those things you might not be able to become a member.”

Total Frat Move has a hilariously profane take on this:
"I should’ve slapped a NSFW tag on this article. The allegations are truly fucking horrifying.
Requiring pledges to keep drunk drivers off of the road?!
Carrying a pledge manual?!
Shut these motherfuckers down. …
They couldn’t even find evidence that they made a pledge drink a beer?
Hell, maybe they were forced to wear certain clothes to class.
Those dipshits at the university don’t even have that to level against the fraternity. …
If this is the road we’re heading down, it’s about to be a scary time for Greeks.
And that’s probably the point.
At least “Mardis concedes many people might not consider the allegations ‘hazing.’” Read the story and TFM’s response.

"The Cold War-Era bunker in Colorado Springs that was designed to protect the U.S. military’s command in the event of a nuclear bomb is getting a new purpose after many of the operations once inside Cheyenne Mountain have been moved over the years.

Obama gun control push backfires as U.S. firearms industry sees unprecedented surge

Obama gun control push backfires as U.S. firearms industry sees unprecedented surge - Washington Times:
"The American firearms industry is as healthy as ever, seeing an unprecedented surge that has sent production of guns soaring to more than 10.8 million manufactured in 2013 alone — double the total of just three years earlier.
The 2013 surge — the latest for which the government has figures — came in the first full year after the December 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, signaling that the push for stricter gun controls, strongly backed by President Obama, did little to chill the industry despite the passage of stricter laws in states such as New York, Maryland, Connecticut and California.
Indeed, interest in guns appears to be at an all-time high in California, which shattered its previous record for gun-purchase background checks last month, with nearly 200,000 processed, suggesting a vibrant firearms market in the country’s largest state..."
