The Fraternal Order of Police, a union representing Baltimore City police officers, set a fundraising goal of $600,000 to pay for the living expenses of the six officers, who were placed on unpaid suspension after they were charged in Gray’s death. 

In 41 minutes, the page raised $1,135.

It’s unclear whether GoFundMe deleted the fundraiser set up for the six officers, but the FOP posted on its Facebook page, “Apparently our GoFundMe account has been suspended with no explanation. 

We are working to find a new site for donations. Thank you!”..

On Friday, an Uber driver with a concealed carry permit thwarted an attempted mass shooting by pulling his own weapon and shooting a gunman who had opened fire in Chicago’s Logan Square.

Illinois Assistant State’s Attorney Barry Quinn verified that the driver “had a concealed-carry permit and acted in the defense of himself and others.”

According to the Chicago Tribune, the driver was watching “a group of people” walk in front of his car on North Milwaukee Avenue just before midnight when 22-year-old Everardo Custodio allegedly “began firing into the crowd.” The Uber driver pulled his own gun and “fired six shots at Custodio,” wounding him in “the shin, thigh, and lower back.”

The attempted mass shooting ended with no one other Custodio injured.

The Chicago Sun Times reported that the Uber driver had dropped off a passenger minutes before Custodio allegedly began shooting. The Times contacted Uber about the incident and they simply said “the company requires all its drivers to abide by local, state and federal laws pertaining to transporting firearms in vehicles.”

This man is a hero who saved who knows how many lives, all using a simple tool of self-defense we conservatives like to call a “gun.”

"KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Some of the relief material for survivors of Nepal's devastating earthquake was being held up at the country's only international airport because of customs bottlenecks, the United Nations said on Saturday, as the death toll from the disaster passed 6,600.
Nepal exempted tarpaulins and tents from import taxes on Friday, but U.N. Resident Representative Jamie McGoldrick told Reuters the government had to loosen customs restrictions further to deal with the increasing flow of relief material.
"They should not be using peacetime customs methodology," he said.
Material was piling up at the Kathmandu airport instead of being ferried out to victims, McGoldrick said.

According to a recent Gallup survey, of the total U.S. adult population (approximately 243 million U.S. adults), less than 1 percent, only .8 percent (approximately 2 million U.S. adults), are part of a same-sex couple.

The same survey finds that approximately .3 percent (.3%) of U.S. adults are married to a same-sex spouse, a mere .5 percent (.5%) identify as being in a same-sex domestic partnership and, of the estimated .8 percent (.8%) of the total U.S. adult population that are a part of a same-sex couple, 780,000 are married. 

In other words, of the estimated 2 million adults that are a part of a same-sex couple, 39 percent (39%) are married

Could you imagine how awkward it would be to receive such a phone call?
To be called right out of the blue and gently asked if you’re ready to die.
As one health analyst put it ‘It will give some older people the impression that no-one wants to bother with them. It looks as though they’re being told: 
‘You’re old, how do you want to die because you’re in the way’.
Of course, the NHS is playing innocent, and has claimed that this is all about improving the ‘end of life’ care of their patients.
But I think we know better.
This is about asking their most expensive patients if they could do them a favor and die already."

Non-citizens are voting in American elections, and the federal government refuses to do anything to stop it.
Worse, the current administration seems to be doing everything they can to prevent the states from trying to stop it.
First, they sued states that asked people to present ID before voting. 
Now, the administration will not let states even ask people to establish they are citizens when they register to vote.
That’s the underlying plot in the latest major case in election law that has just been presented to the Supreme Court. Federal law says that states must accept and use a federal form for registering voters.
But the federal form doesn’t require any proof that the person submitting the form is a citizen.
The form just asks the registrant to check a box.
Meanwhile, federal law mandates that voter registration forms be made available and pushed everywhere from licensing branches to welfare offices.
...Some states have tried to prevent this problem from continuing.
Kansas and Arizona, while accepting and using the federal form, require registrants to provide some kind of proof of citizenship in order to register.
But when they asked the Election Assistance Commission to add these state law instructions to their version of the federal form, the EAC flatly refused.

One man ran naked through a Florida neighborhood, tried to have sex with a tree and told police he was the mythical god Thor. Another ran nude down a busy city street in broad daylight, convinced a pack of German shepherds was pursuing him.

Two others tried separately to break into the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. They said they thought people were chasing them; one wound up impaled on a fence.

The common element to these and other bizarre incidents in Florida in the last few months is flakka, an increasingly popular synthetic designer drug. Also known as gravel and readily available for $5 or less a vial, it’s a growing problem for police after bursting on the scene in 2013. (source)

Flakka, made in China and Pakistan, is purchased through the mail and comes in a crystal form that people smoke in electronic cigarettes. 
The main ingredient, alpha-PVP, might make people feel like they have a heightened awareness… until the paranoia and hallucinations set in. 
Aside from naked rage and delirium, Flakka can cause dangerously high body temperature spikes and lead to kidney failure.

Police have said that people on Flakka exhibit super-human strength and it can require four men to restrain one whacked out guy. 
Tasers and pepper spray are practically useless.
