Student: Professor Gave Me Zeros for Refusing to Condemn Christianity:
"A Polk State University student says that her humanities professor gave her four consecutive zeros after she disagreed with his negative views toward Christianity.
One of professor Lance “L.J.” Russum’s assignments asked students: why did Christianity and its male gods seek to silence women?
Another insisted that Michelangelo’s sculptures and paintings communicated that same-sex relationships are not a sin.
Russum also reportedly criticized Christianity as one of the “most violent forms of religion the world has ever seen.”
But 16-year-old Grace Lewis, who virtually attends Polk State, said she disagreed with the educator over Christianity and religion, and she was consequently given four zeros..."

Court ruling emboldens opponents of phone data collection under the PATRIOT Act | TheBlaze.com:

"A decision by a federal appeals court that the government went too far by collecting phone data on millions of Americans has emboldened members of Congress who are seeking to end that program once and for all.

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals said Thursday that the program goes beyond what Congress authorized. The existence of the program was revealed by whistleblower Edward Snowden, and the decision that it may violate the law led some to renew their calls to scale it back."

This is NUTS!! Read it and see the garbage our charity AND tax dollars are funding!----$100,000 grant helping to support new WMCAT business to employ college, high school youth

$100,000 grant helping to support new WMCAT business to employ college, high school youth | MLive.com:
GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids Community Foundation has awarded the West Michigan Center for Arts and Technology (WMCAT) $100,000 to help support a new screen printing business that will employ Grand Rapids students and young adults.
WMCAT operates a Teen Arts and Tech Program for Grand Rapids Public Schools teens. Professional teaching artists guide high school students through studio labs in photography, illustration, fashion, video game design, ceramics, and audio/video production.
"This project will provide multiple outcomes - meaningful employment, entrepreneurial and financial skills for youth and young adults; earned income to sustain the program; and promotion of high school graduation and pathways to post-secondary education," said Laurie Craft, program director of Grand Rapids Community Foundation, in a statement.
Officials say teens often cannot participate in after-school programming because they financially depend on employment during after school hours.
That 's why WMCAT acquired Ambrose, a Holland-based screen printing social enterprise, to employ teens and young adults in a business-to-business screen printing venture, provide a revenue stream to the mission-based work of WMCAT and engage youth in business management and career development.
..."Ambrose at WMCAT is at the forefront of the new field of social enterprise.
We can give urban teens valuable employment and training, while sustaining WMCAT's mission to provide a culture of opportunity."
Programming will include both teen apprenticeships and employment opportunities for WMCAT alumni who are enrolled in college.
The program will be directed by Adam Weiler, founder of Ambrose and WMCAT's director of Social Enterprise.
The plan is to employ two to four college freshman, GRPS graduates previously involved in the program, this summer.
A program is being developed for fall to employ high school students and allow them to learn about entrepreneurship.
The exact number of employees is still being determined and salary information was not available. However, officials say youth will earn above the minimum wage, $8.14, likely in the $10 range.

Giggles the Pig write-in campaign joins Flint mayoral race chaos | MLive.com:
"...Fellow councilman and candidate Wantwaz Davis also took issue with Giggles' campaign.
"Putting a pig in a race is an offense to the character and moral value we're trying to exemplify in the city," Davis said.
Davis said Ewing's efforts should be put toward helping better the city of Flint and finding jobs for the people he represents in the court system.
"I think, being a criminal defense attorney, the first thing he should be thinking about is defending the reputation of the city," Davis said.
Davis also took the time to sound off on Giggles' Facebook page.
"...I will be the next mayor of Flint, Michigan, and will feast off of your pig at my victory party, you can get in for free, VIP on me," Davis wrote.

Senate Votes 98-1 to Give Congress a Say on the Iran Nuke Deal — Here’s the One Republican Who Voted Against It | TheBlaze.com

Senate Votes 98-1 to Give Congress a Say on the Iran Nuke Deal — Here’s the One Republican Who Voted Against It | TheBlaze.com:

"The Senate on Thursday easily passed legislation that will give Congress a formal role in reviewing the emerging Iran nuclear agreement, amid complaints from some Republicans that the bill will actually make it relatively easy for the Obama administration to strike a weak deal with Iran.

The Senate passed the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act in a 98-1 — the lone “no” vote came from Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.)."

40% of People On Food Stamps Are Obese, Gov't Study Finds

40% of People On Food Stamps Are Obese, Gov't Study Finds - Investors.com:
"Whenever Republicans talk about trimming the federal food stamp program, Democrats decry them as cold, heartless or worse.
But new research shows that cutting food stamps could actually make the country healthier.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture looked at data from 2007 through 2010, then compared average weights of those on food stamps — officially called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — to those who weren't.
The findings, released on Tuesday, are striking.
Food stamp recipients are far more likely to be obese than poor people who are eligible but don't take the help.
And they're even more likely to be obese than those with higher incomes.
Fully 40% of food stamp recipients are obese, the study found, compared with just over 30% of those who don't participate in the program.
Children of families on food stamps were also more likely to be obese than children in the other two groups, as were older adults.
At the other end of the scale, there was almost no difference among these three groups in terms of the share who were underweight — all were in the low single digits."

Baltimore Police Investigation Findings Not Consistent With Prosecutor’s Charges: Report | TheBlaze.com:

Ted Cruz’s Attempt to Boost Congress’ Role in the Iran Nuke Talks Was Just Blocked in the Senate

Ted Cruz’s Attempt to Boost Congress’ Role in the Iran Nuke Talks Was Just Blocked in the Senate | TheBlaze.com:
"A Senate Democrat late Wednesday blocked an attempt by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to require that Congress affirmatively approve of President Barack Obama’s Iran nuclear deal before it takes effect, instead of allowing it to take effect automatically unless Congress votes to kill it.
Cruz and some other Republicans have opposed the Iran nuclear legislation worked out by Sens. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and Ben Cardin (D-Md.).
They note that while the bill would give Congress a chance to review the agreement, it would only give Congress the option of passing a resolution disapproving of the deal."

Race to the bottom!----Oxford Dictionary May Add Gender-Neutral 'Mx' Honorific

Oxford Dictionary May Add Gender-Neutral 'Mx' Honorific | The Daily Caller:
"The Oxford English Dictionary may soon add the gender-neutral “Mx” honorific as a way to address people who are transgender or do not identify with either gender.
“Mx,” which proponents proclaim is pronounced as either “mux” or “mix,” would be joining the ranks of other honorifics, such as “Mr.,” “Mrs.,” “Ms.,” and “Miss.” “Mx” would be the first addition to the traditional honorifics in decades.
A gender-neutral bathroom is seen at the University of California, Irvine in Irvine, Calif., Sept. 30, 2014. (REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson)“This is an example of how the English language adapts to people’s needs, with people using language in ways that suit them rather than letting language dictate identity to them,” Jonathan Dent, assistant editor of the Oxford English Dictionary, told The Sunday Times.
The United Kingdom has already begun accepting “Mx” on official government documents in the past few years.
Banks and universities in the U.K. have also started to use the honorific, although one company admits it isn’t using the title “because employees were unsure about how to pronounce it without offending.”"

In Virginia, It’s Easier to Be an Armed Private Cop than a Barber | The Institute for Justice: "Carrying a badge as an armed “special conservator of the peace” requires 40 hours of training in Virginia.
But getting a license to cut someone’s hair takes 1,500 hours of training—almost 40 times as many hours.
Welcome to the absurd world of occupational regulations.
Currently, Virginia law lets private citizens become SCOPs, which have the authority to arrest people and even carry a badge and a gun. SCOPs can also identify themselves as “police” and use the Commonwealth seal on their badges and uniforms..."

Liberals: Reading to Your Kids Gives Them an Unfair Advantage - The Rush Limbaugh Show

Liberals: Reading to Your Kids Gives Them an Unfair Advantage - The Rush Limbaugh Show:

"So the sum of this story is that good parents who treat their kids the way good parents do, may not be permitted to do so anymore, because it's unfair to kids that do not have good parents.

Good parents must now treat their children like bad parents have to treat their kids so that they don't confer any unfair advantages on their kids.  So, like I say, instead of raising up all children by reading to them, we have to go to the very lowest common denominator for all children and penalize those who are doing things right, penalize those who are doing things good.  Because it isn't fair that they can and others can't."

SHOCK VIDEO- Radical Imam Tells Pamela Geller on Live TV She Should be KILLED
This was an AMAZING exchange….
Anjem Choudary:
We’re talking about people who deliberately had a competition to insult the messenger Mohammad… If you saw the cartoons that Charlie Hebdo drew you would understand the anger. And now this woman was to draw cartoons or have people draw cartoons to insult the prophet knowing full well that this carries the death penalty in Islam… She should be put before Shariah court and tried and of course she would face capitol punishment.
Best Line—
Pamela Geller to Anjem Choudary:
“I’m talking, sir… I know you’re used to stepping over women but you’re not going to have it here.”

Just pissin' away your kids (and grandkids) future----Federal government blows $44,700 to promote pumpkin doughnuts

Watch: Federal government blows $44,700 to promote pumpkin doughnuts | TheBlaze.com:
"Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) this week called out the federal government for spending tens of thousands of dollars to help a farmer promote his pumpkin doughnuts.
Coats spoke on the Senate floor about a federal agricultural promotion program that has handed out more than $290 million over the last decade, and called it a waste of federal funding to help a select few farmers promote their goods.
“One of the winners was a single farm that received a $44,700 grant to increase sales of its pumpkins and squash, including pumpkin doughnuts,” Coats said. “I’m not making this up.”
...“In essence what we’re doing here is promoting a few, select products. And why are we promoting pumpkin doughnuts over, say, banana nut muffins?” he asked.
“What about watermelons and not cantaloupes, or carrots and not turnips?
And on and on you could go,” he said... "

"However, one of the more upsetting ammo shortages has been the absence of .22 ammo on the market.
Whereas once $10-$15 could buy someone 500+ rounds of the cheap rimfire ammunition, now, it’s difficult to find and expensive when one can find it.
The good folks at American Rifleman magazine spoke with an ammunition manufacturer to find out why .22 ammunition is so scarce and what is causing the shortage."
