I guess we need about a dozen “differently gendered” bathrooms in schools now « Hot Air
We’ve seen enough of these stories by now that, sadly, it might not even be worth mentioning, but there is a particularly troubling “transgender child bathroom” story out of Missouri this week which seems to demonstrate exactly how far out of control the situation has become.
A seventeen year old boy at Hillsboro High School has determined that he will self-identify as a girl and go by the name of Lila Perry.
Seventeen is pretty close to adult age and, in the current social climate, that’s probably not all that unusual anymore.
The school had apparently been going to great lengths to accommodate Perry, even allowing him to use a unisex faculty bathroom.
(Seriously?
You have a unisex faculty bathroom in a high school?)
But the situation came to a boil when he was enrolled in phys ed class and was determined to change in the girl’s locker room.
At that point, the girls in the school seem to have decided that they’d had enough and a walkout ensued, supported by many of the parents. (Daily Mail)
Almost 200 high school students in Missouri walked out of their classes to protest one a transgender student in senior year being allowed in the girls’ bathroom.
Members of the Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Missouri, ditched two hours of lessons to object to Lila Perry, a 17-year-old senior, being granted access to female bathrooms.
Perry, who started identifying as transgender earlier this year, was using the female facilities to change for gym classes, which upset many other girls at the school.
People carried “Girls Rights Matter” signs and expressed their discontent.
It wasn’t just the parents.. the girls who needed to use the locker room had some rather blunt language which should have been obvious to all concerned.
And some of their mothers voiced similar concerns.
