"The number of Americans insured by Obamacare health care plans nationally dropped to less than 10 million at the start of this summer, according to figures from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
As of June 30, just 9.9 million people were paying for coverage they purchased through government-run Obamacare health insurance marketplaces, or “exchanges,” the federal government revealed this week.
The decline is similar to a drop in enrollments seen last year, which was the first year in which people had the option to purchase the restrictive Obamacare health insurance, said to be more limited than Medicare or Medicaid.
The new totals are down from the 10.2 million “paying Obamacare customers” reported as of late March.
A total of 11.7 million people signed up for coverage as of February, when open enrollment in the plans ended for this year."
