Wall Street Journal Reports: Your Boss Can/Should Restrict Your Holiday Travel Plans During The Pandemic
"The Wall Street Journal argues that “as the holiday season gets underway,” the pandemic ensures that “employers have wide latitude in what they can ask regarding your holiday plans.”
The article says that employers have the right to ask “workers to take a pledge to refrain from any risky behavior and caution...
...It is 2020, and the Wall Street Journal is pushing a narrative that free-will and actions that happen “outside of the workplace” are now under corporate control because they are “aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19.”...Read all.

Marathon Pundit: So it begins: Gap closing Chicago North Michigan Avenue store

So it begins: Gap closing Chicago North Michigan Avenue store

North Michigan Avenue in June
after first round of riots
Yeah, the corporate suits are claiming that The Gap is closing its massive Magnificient Mile store in Chicago as part of a restructuring plan that will close 350 other retail outlets. But I am not buying it.
North Michigan Avenue was devestated by two rounds or rioting and looting.
The reality is, in my opinion, that The Gap realized the bloom is off the rose on the Mile and Chicago, and North Michigan Avenue, is on the decline and not worth the headaches.

I predict many more departures. I will be right."

On Friday, the school board declined to remove the suspension from his permanent record, according to local news.

How a suspected Chinese spy gained access to California politics - Axios

How a suspected Chinese spy gained access to California politics - Axios
"A suspected Chinese intelligence operative developed extensive ties with local and national politicians, including a U.S. congressman, in what U.S. officials believe was a political intelligence operation run by China’s main civilian spy agency between 2011 and 2015, Axios found in a yearlong investigation.
  • Why it matters: The alleged operation offers a rare window into how Beijing has tried to gain access to and influence U.S. political circles.
The woman at the center of the operation, a Chinese national named Fang Fang or Christine Fang, targeted up-and-coming local politicians in the Bay Area and across the country who had the potential to make it big on the national stage.
...Even though U.S. officials do not believe Fang received or passed on classified information, the case "was a big deal, because there were some really, really sensitive people that were caught up" in the intelligence network, a current senior U.S. intelligence official said.
...Among the most significant targets of Fang's efforts was Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.)...Read all.

Michigan school district approves transgender policy including restrooms, sports - mlive.com
CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI – A Southeast Michigan school district is clearing the way for its transgender students to use restrooms and locker rooms they identify with; the same goes for sports.
Under the new policy, born females who are transgender can use male facilities and participate in male sports, and vice-versa, WDIV Local 4 reports.
It was approved by the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education during a virtual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
The policy is aimed at providing a “more safe, welcoming environment to all of our students... especially those who are often marginalized, bullied and assaulted at higher rates,” said Patti McCoin, school board president.

Republican Led States are More Prosperous, Period.
"The 12th edition of Rich States, Poor States...pinpoints why some states in the union grow and prosper while others shrink and fail.
  • ...In particular, citizens in states where lawmakers are focused on establishing long-term prosperity benefit the most.
  • This is especially true when those citizens trust the judgment of their political leaders and have witnessed the wisdom of their policies.
  • What’s more, from year to year, rich states in motion tend to maintain and even elevate prosperity, while poor states experience the opposite and issue lame laments about “tax breaks for the rich” and other go-to bromides...

Improper Medicaid Payments Have Soared Since Obamacare | National Review

Improper Medicaid Payments Have Soared Since Obamacare | National Review
"Americans are conditioned to expect inefficiency and waste in government programs.
We make jokes about long lines at the DMV and the Bridge to Nowhere as if slow-moving bureaucracy and fiscal profligacy are features of the system.
But a recent report from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) puts government mismanagement on a different plane and should alarm all Americans.
The report reveals astronomical improper spending in Medicaid, our nation’s third-largest government program.
The true Medicaid improper-payment rate now exceeds 25 percent, meaning that more than one in every four dollars spent in the Medicaid program — or more than $100 billion in federal spending each year — is in violation of program rules.
...The media, to date, have virtually ignored the issue; but taxpayers are being fleeced, and we can’t fix the problem until people know and understand what’s happening...Read all.
