#news 'Ghost Student' Fraudsters who stole tens of millions from Federal Student Aid, have been identified as Somali migrants
Federal investigations revealed that the perpetrators behind Minnesota's $12.5 million "ghost student" scam— are migrants from Somalia.
The migrants enrolled fake students or stolen identities in colleges to steal the federal aid like Pell Grants. They never attended a class and pocketed the money.
The scheme prompted Education Secretary Linda McMahon to write a letter to Governor Tim Walz, blasted him for allowing the massive fraud in the state and called on him to resign.
"You have been Minnesota’s Governor since 2019. During that time, your careless lack of oversight and abuse of the welfare system has attracted fraudsters from around the world, especially from Somalia, to establish a beachhead of criminality in our country. "
"As President Trump put it, you have turned Minnesota into a ‘fraudulent hub of money laundering activity.’"
"Given your dereliction of the office entrusted to you by Minnesotans, I implore you to resign and make way for more capable leadership"
In the letter McMahon said almost 2,000 "ghost" students were found in his state alone.
"We call these fraudsters ‘ghost students’ because they were not ID-verified and often did not live in the United States, or they simply did not exist."
"In Minnesota, 1,834 ghost students were found to have received $12.5 million in taxpayer-funded grants and loans. They collected checks from the federal government, shared a small portion of the money with the college, and pocketed the rest — without attending the college at all."

What Trump wants from Greenland - Don Surber

And yes, their military includes dog sleds. - Don Surber
Greenland has not been a very good guardian of the natives, who call themselves the Kalaallit.
They are 85% of the population.
The story said, “In the 1960s and 1970s, and to a lesser degree in the decades that followed, Danish doctors implanted IUDs in thousands of Greenlandic women and girls, in many cases without their permission.
“It was part of an official government campaign, carried out by Denmark for decades, that was intended to control the growth of Greenland’s population.
“The scandal stands as a painful symbol of what Greenlanders consider generations of mistreatment by the Danes, and the report’s findings come at a delicate time.”...

Jimmy Carr: Why the Working Class Moved Right (And the Left Doesn’t Get It)

People often say: “97 percent of scientists agree on climate change.”

It’s commonly used to shut down debate about the impacts of climate change and the proposed solutions. - Lucy Biggers
But that 97% comes from a single paper led by John Cook, and the paper has been thoroughly discredited.
  • It didn’t survey scientists or ask experts what they believe.
Instead, activist researchers read paper abstracts and decided whether they were part of the consensus.
To count as agreement, a paper only had to say humans influence the climate at all, not by how much, and not whether it’s dangerous.
So if a paper simply stated, “CO₂ is a greenhouse gas,” it was included in the 97%—along with scientists whose findings suggest warming will be modest and manageable.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is now issuing a "guarantee" that Somali-linked fraudsters in Minnesota will be snagged, and he points to "disturbing tapes" of the state's attorney general, Keith Ellison, allegedly saying he'll squash probes into people charged with fraud.

What is it about failed governors that convinces Democrats they should lead the nation? - Aaron Hanscom
Mark Halperin released his January installment of his “8 for ’28” Democratic nomination rankings, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom remains at the top of the list...
  • With Newsom still at No. 1 for 2028, it’s instructive to look at what other lists he tops.
“He is ranking number one in so many important things,” says Benny Johnson, who put together a helpful breakdown
California is numero uno in
  • homelessness,
  • poverty,
  • retail crime,
  • gas prices,
  • unemployment,
  • housing costs,
  • water bills,
  • anti-business regulations,
  • income tax, gas tax, and
  • budget deficits.
Unsurprisingly, his state again ranks No. 1 in the U.S. for residents moving out, according to U-Haul data...

Nick Shirley visits Hopkins Child Care Center in Minnesota, a licensed facility reportedly approved for over 100 children (118 per records) and receiving more than $2 million annually in public funds (around $2.25 million cited).

Midday, the scene raises immediate red flags. - Donald Trump For President
The front door is locked, all windows are completely blacked out, and there are no footprints in the snow leading inside—despite what should be heavy child traffic.
Nick circles to the back of the building, rings the doorbell, and knocks.
Two angry men confront him aggressively:
  • Man 1: “Get out! This is our business. Leave!”
  • Man 2: “What are you looking for? This is private property.”...
