At the beginning of Barack Obama’s first term, we were 10.6 trillion dollars in debt, and now we are nearly 20 trillion dollars in debt.  
That means that we have been adding more than a trillion dollars a year to the national debt.  
When you break that down, that means that we have essentially been stealing more than a hundred million dollars from future generations of Americans every single hour of every single day to pay for our debt-fueled lifestyle.  
Even Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen is warning that this is not sustainable, and yet we just keep on doing it..."

Still others suggested that the claimed discovery represents a massive leap forward in human understanding – a “new paradigm.”

Two current members of a Michigan county board that is considering zoning changes to allow wind farms have apparently entered into leases with a company developing a wind farm.
Contracts for placing wind turbines reportedly pay landowners $8,000 to $14,000 annually.
While Isabella County has been asked to make zoning changes that would allow a wind developer to erect 200 or more wind turbines, county commissioners George Green and Frank Engler have entered turbine tower lease agreements with Apex Clean Energy, Inc., according to a website that tracks deeds recorded in the county.

Issues arose with the M-6 project ahead of the concrete failure.
The bridge decks on two of the overpasses had to be re-done immediately after they were poured because the wrong concrete was used — and the asphalt portion of the road was in need of repairs seven years after it was built.
In the past six years, $1 million has gone into patching the concrete joints. 
And this summer, $9.5 million is being spent to redo M-6 west of Wilson Avenue.
The portion of M-6 that is being redone this summer amounts to about one-third of the original concrete road.
The road was initially poured in 2003 and 2004 – a 12-mile-long stretch that cost $22 million.
But none of the concrete pavement work — including this summer’s project — has been paid for by the company that built it. 
The work has all been done after the seven-year warranty expired..."

The Maria Montessori School in the Hague was sued over the incident in 2015, with the school accused of discrimination.
Their parents had initially demanded compensation of 10,000 Euros.
The court found the school guilty and ordered it to pay the students – who have not been identified – 500 Euros each, Dutch broadcaster RTL News reported.
The lawyer of the two girls, Laura Zuydgeest, said the situation was a clear case of school engaging in discrimination against its Muslim pupils because they were the only ones affected..."

"A social media story circulating on Twitter and Facebook has it that U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos stiffed the wait staff after a recent dinner in Saugatuck. 
DeVos was part of a party that ate at Bowdies Chophouse the weekend before July 4.
According to one Facebook post by a Saugatuck woman, the bill for the evening was $500 and the party left no tip for the wait staff. The post was shared 372 times by July 10.
Tyler Bowdish, who operates Bowdies, said he had seen the social media post but didn’t know how to handle it.
Bowdish said he served the DeVos party that night. 
“I personally took care of them that night. There is no truth to it.”"

"The effort to prove collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government has proven to be little more than a conspiracy theory desperately in search of evidence.
...Again, in a move of full transparency, Trump Jr. publicly released the entire email chain on Twitter.  The initial email states that the “Crown prosecutor of Russia” offered to provide the Trump campaign with “information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia.”
In other words, the information Trump Jr. initially expressed interest in receiving was not hacked emails or illegally obtained documents but apparently information about Clinton’s official Secretary of State dealings with Russia.
At the time the information was offered on June 3, 2016, there was no information suggesting Russian hackers were responsible for the hacking of the DNC.
Donald Trump Jr., in other words, had no reason to believe that the information he sought was little more than opposition research.
Trump Jr. did, however, have full reason to suspect Clinton had operated nefariously in her dealings with Russia.

• Clinton had given her approval in handing one-fifth of U.S. uranium to Russia, after which her foundation received $2.35 million from the Russian-controlled company. Suspiciously, Clinton did not disclose the transaction.

"The Washington Post devoted one of its front-page news stories to complaining about the lack of supermarkets in poor neighborhoods of the Nation’s Capital. 
Entitled “As D.C. Prospers, Supermarkets Proliferate — Except In Poor Areas,” it quoted Theresa Stephens, an Anacostia resident, saying “We’ve got nothing over here. They’re overlooking us.”
Although Ms. Stephens is referring to the supermarkets, the people who are overlooking her are the D.C. government, whose decision to raise the minimum wage in 2014 prompted Walmart to rethink its planned stores in low-income DC neighborhoods.  
Over half of Walmart’s sales are in groceries.
No doubt Washington’s high minimum wage, which will rise to $12.50 on Saturday, has also discouraged other grocery stores from opening.
Recall that in 2011 Walmart announced plans to open six stores, including one on Alabama Avenue Southeast, close to where Ms. Stephens lives.
 The minimum wage was then $8.25 an hour.
In January 2014 the D.C. government passed a bill that raised the wage incrementally to $11.50 an hour in 2016. 
Shortly after the law was signed, Walmart pulled out of four stores in low-income neighborhoods..."
