"A question for those who are attracted to Robert Francis O’Rouke’s plan to confiscate our AR-15s.
How Do you think he and the feds will go about this?
If he’s willing to state that he wants to circumvent the 2nd amendment, it behooves him to tell the citizenry exactly how he will accomplish it?
Tear open walls?
Dig up the yard?
Throw me in jail if they don’t find it?
Door to door?
Local police or special federal law enforcement?
If I tell them the firearm is not on the premises, how will they conduct a search?
Will they have automatic warrants to search?
How far will they go to locate it? Tear open walls?
Dig up the yard?
Throw me in jail if they don’t find it?
What level of violence will be permitted to gain access to a property if their warrant is refused?
If you feel he’s worthy of your vote because he’s pandering to your fears, do us all a favor and let us know what you are willing to overlook - mass incarceration, violence, etc. - in order to fulfill his promise to ignore the Constitution, both 2nd and 4th amendments and encourage what could possibly mean civil war."

Why Progressivism Wins | Intellectual Takeout
"Suppose you wanted to design a political ideology to maximize power.
What would that ideology look like?
- First, and most importantly, it would need to be attractive enough for people to believe it and support it....
- Second, the ideology should have some way of propagating within institutions that are nominally unrelated to politics but in reality influence politics a great deal. Important centers of culture and education are examples....

"Am I wrong?
Wasn't 9/11 a massive failure of the FBI and the entire IC operation on whom we've spent billions of dollars?
And in the years that followed why did they engage in crap like trying to nail Cheney and then trying to shlep Hillary over the line and then depose DJT?
Shouldn't they have been restructuring and re-manning instead."

Take Two Aspirin and Call Me by My Pronouns - WSJ"At ‘woke’ medical schools, curricula are increasingly focused on social justice rather than treating illness.
The American College of Physicians says its mission is to promote the “quality and effectiveness of health care,” but it’s stepped out of its lane recently with sweeping statements on gun control.
And that isn’t the only recent foray into politics by medical professionals.
During my term as associate dean of curriculum at the University of Pennsylvania’s medical school, I was chastised by a faculty member for not including a program on climate change in the course of study.
As the Journal reported last month, such programs are spreading across medical schools nationwide..."

Why Did the Deficit Just Top $1 Trillion? Here’s Another Clue For You All – Issues & Insights
"The Congressional Budget Office reported on Tuesday that, with one month to go, the federal deficit for fiscal year 2019 has already topped $1 trillion.
As night follows day, Trump administration critics blamed the tax cuts.
And once again, the data prove them wrong.
The CBO report says that the federal deficit reached $1.067 by the end of August.
...Where did the increase come from?
...But the report shows that revenues climbed 3.4% so far this fiscal year.
Spending, however, shot up by 6.4%.
Look within the data, in fact, and you see that the tax cuts are working as promised – by accelerating economic growth, they’re at least partially paying for themselves.
Take corporate taxes.
Ask any Democrat running for president and they will bemoan the tax “giveaways” to giant corporations.
What they won’t tell you is that corporate tax revenues are up 5%.
In fact, corporations paid $8 billion more in the 11 months of this fiscal year than they did in the same period of fiscal year 2018..."

California stops disruptive students from being suspended
California stops disruptive students from being suspended
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been busy signing a pile of new, intrusive bills into law lately.
"Can’t see how this could possibly end in a steaming pile of disaster, can you?
Not satisfied with trying to destroy the business models of the gig economy, Newsom is going to straighten out the teachers who have been having trouble with disruptive students.
In the majority of cases, they will be banned from suspending them from school. (Sacramento Bee)

The tax virus is spreading!-----Michigan counties could have local fuel taxes, registration fees under House bills - mlive.com
"Gas prices could look a little different across county lines under legislation proposed in the Michigan House this week.
As introduced, the two main bills in a wide-ranging road funding package, House Bill 4963 and 4964, would give counties the option levy local fuel taxes or vehicle registration fees.
There’s currently no restrictions in the legislation as to how high those taxes could be, but they would require a countywide vote to go into effect..."

"DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: The Progressive Dystopia Of NYC Schools.
As Iowahawk memorably put it:You have to read this long Atlantic piece by George Packer, in which he describes the disillusioning of him and his wife — good urban liberals — by the militant wokeness that overtook the New York City public schools that their children attended (and that their son still attends)…It gets crazier and crazier, as identity politics comes to control not only that school, but the entire NYC public school system. The authoritarianism and radicalism of progressive ideology has destroyed what schools are supposed to be, and, in the liberal writer’s anxious view, are kicking the supports out from underneath liberal democracy.
Is there anything that the new woke progressivism touches that it doesn’t destroy? If it weren’t for the fact that one of the parents at that school is a nationally known journalist with a prominent platform, would any of us know what a disaster the militant left has made of the nation’s largest school system, all because of identity politics?

Parkland father exposes how killer was enabled by Obama's school-leniency policies - TheBlaze
The mourning father has written a book spelling out the countless red flags school officials and law enforcement were handed regarding the deranged murderer who took the lives of so many innocent victims, including Meadow — and says policies implemented by President Barack Obama prevented the reporting of an abundance of evidence that could have been used to stop his daughter's killer.

Six-Year-Old Saying, 'Why Don't We Just Give Everything Away For Free?' Surges To Top Of Democratic Polls | The Babylon Bee:
"U.S.—A new candidate has come out of nowhere to surge in the polls in the Democratic primary, and she’s only six years old. Susie Peters of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was on a local news segment where children gave their opinions on world problems, and she asked, “Why can’t we just give everyone everything they want for free?”
The message quickly went viral and really resonated with Democratic voters, propelling Susie from unknown to third in most polls, ahead of Bernie Sanders and just behind Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden.
"She really has a plan for everything,” said Melinda Carlson, one of Susie’s enthusiastic supporters. “While Elizabeth Warren only has a plan for getting people free health care and free college, Susie has a plan to get everyone free everything.
She’s truly a visionary.”
Her new candidacy has upset some of the other candidates, with Bernie Sanders accusing Susie of stealing all his ideas..."
