Minneapolis City Councilman Carjacked in His Own District

Since COVID and the George Floyd riots, the city has rapidly gone downhill...
Property crime is still off the charts, and while carjackings have been slowly declining, the decline has been from record levels...
During and after the disastrous year of 2020, carjackings became common in Minneapolis, with 650 in 2021, or two a day. 
  • Now they occur, or are at least reported, at the rate of about one about every two or three days. 
  • The new "hot" crime is breaking into cars parked on the street, with hundreds of occurrences a month. In a one-month period this summer, over 400 cars were broken into...
